Hello, I just published a Full Frame E-Mount Lens version of this video with the new ZV-E1 in mind for those interested here: th-cam.com/video/IyiK2D9GUzc/w-d-xo.html
Oh my goodness! This is by far the best review of the lineup of sony lenses to choose from for the ZVE10. Thank you so much Jason! I must have watched over 10 reviews on the lenses by now, but couldn't find anyone who provided such a visual rundown of how these lenses actually function in a real-life setting. I know how much time and effort is put into making such videos, so I just want to say, that you nailed this one off the park mate. I now know what lens to go with!
I don't usually subscribe channels but I had to because you replied to almost all comments and queries. I got myself a new zv e10 and as a beginner, seeing you very helpful to other e10 owners is very encouraging for me to click the subscribe button!
Thanks David for the comments and kind words :) This one took me a while to put together.... To your point, the reason I did not include the Sigma 16mm in this list is because the New Sony 11mm f/1.8 Lens and the Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 lens are better options in my opinion. Before these two new lenses, the Sigma 16mm was king for sure ;) All the best, Jay
@@Jason_Hermann The 16 Sigma is not replaced by eith the 13 or 11. It is a 24mm equivalent, the 13 is 20mm equivalent, and the 11 is 16.5mm equivalent all of which are valuable focal lengths, and each with pros and cons. I could make a case for collecting all three over time. I have the Sigma 16mm. I will get the Sony 11 next and when I win a lottery I will add the Viltrox 13. I don't care about the blurry backgrounds, but f1.4 is valuable for exposure in lower light.
You're an incredible teacher Jason. Love this video and also your video tutorial on how to use the ZV-E10. Your tutorials are all so easy to understand. You are thorough and show examples of what you mean and I truly appreciate the lengths you go to in order to help us understand.
This was an amazing review. I recently bought a ZVE10 camera and I was looking for lens options. I already have a good perspective thanks to you. Last week I bought the Tamron 11-20mm and, once I save more money, I will buy some more using your links to support you. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much for the very kind comments and support using the links Gabriela :) I really appreciate it and if you ever have any questions please feel free to ask! All the best, Jay

Jason, you really impressed me. Your vlogs are really more educational and in depth. I am just going into photography after about a decade of not. In a very real sense, am a beginner again. Thank you, I just subscribed.
Jason I just watched every single video you made about the ZV-E10. You're doing an great job and you are a very good teacher. I'm new to videography and photography and your 1h30 video which includes theory and real life examples you shot yourself was immensely useful. Keep up the good work ! Free tip : With your expertise you could do more generalist and camera-agnostic videos about photo and/or video theory. I reckon such videos would bring a lot of long-term views to you channel, especially with you skills.
Hey there Pierre, Thank you for the very kind words and have you seen this video I just dropped a few days ago?? th-cam.com/video/fyEeonlyeqI/w-d-xo.html
I'm looking for my first camera and had no idea there were versatile lenses! Probably going with the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8. Thanks for the thorough review! I learned a lot from you just now.
You are a godsend! Thanks a ton for putting together this incredible amount of information and making the choice of a lens for the camera infinitely easier.
Thanks man! I'm into fashion photography and started using this cam and have been deciding which lens I should get. Thanks to this video, I was able to make the right decision!
Jason, I’m just starting out as a vlogger. (I’m 62 😊). I have to say your videos are super helpful. You explain things so clearly. I bought the ZVE10, and a DJI RS3 Mini. For lens I’ve only got the kit lens right now, though I have been gifted an ef-se lens adaptor with auto focus. Do you have a video on recommended canon lens that I could use in differing situations whilst using the adapter? Many thanks. Ps - I unsubscribed other channels to focus on yours because quite simply yours are the simplest to understand.
Hey there, and I'm sorry but I don't have a video on which Canon EF lenses to get for adapting to Sony cameras.... However with that being said, any of the newer EF lenses should work great for photos all be it a bit slower to focus due to the adapting and all... As far as what lenses specifically? Hard to say, but I used to love my EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS Lens in particular for a do everything option. I also used the EF 17-40mm f/4 L Lens a lot for landscapes and stuff. For portraits I would use the EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS Lens and the EF 135mm f/2 L Lens for some reference. I hope that helps, Jay
Really a best lense comparison video on YT. I am a beginner and recently purchased ZV-E10 and this video really helped me to understand about suitable lenses for my use. Thanks a lot for this video!! ❤
A year has passed since You posted this video….its so relatable just now for me and because i learn from seeing / watching and doing it totally struck a cord and made some brain cells connect missing links 🔗 haha! I’m just starting my journey into more advanced creative video editing and this has helped. Thank you. ❤
U just made my day. So efforts u did in this video to make it so interesting and informative. I just learnt so many things from this video. Love your details about the camera lens and the way they shoot. Thanks for the type of knowledge. Love from India
Best video on lenses for ZV E10 I am watching right now with excellent informations! Just 2 days before I purchased that camera with lenses, but now I am thinking why I couldn't see your video before because I am feeling these other lanses purchase separately can be a much better option than sony camera kit lense. Thank you so much for this information 😊
I have the alpha1 and just bought this one for my wife. She started watching your video and she is now snagging my gm lenses as well as trying all sort of crop sensors. Thanks for taking the time to shoot and edit this video.
Man I've been watching your channel ever since I switched from Nikon to Sony, I'm so glad you hit the 100k milestone, you totally deserve it! All the best to you 💚
Glad you enjoyed it and I totally agree about seeing them demonstrated one after another. Very eye opening to people new to lenses and all their various focal lengths and aperture differences.
This video was amazing. I’ve learned so much. I just purchased my first ever camera. Went with the Sony ZV-E10. I’m a realtor and going to start to property vlogs, and TH-cam stuff. Getting several lens’s.
I agree, but I have not used that lens myself so I did not mention in the video... Sorry about that, but did add it in the description and as a great option as well.
Enjoyed the video, thank you. I'm curious, when you weren't demonstrating each lens, what lens and camera were you using for your talking head shots (again, excluding the lens demonstration portions of the video)?
For me: Sony 15mm f1.4 wide angle Sigma 30mm f1.4 street photography Sony 50mm f1.8 sharpness and portrait Sony 18-105mm f4 video, power zoom, and all around Sony 16-55mm kit lens, light all around
This is an awesome video! I’m new to the awesome world of photography/videography & cameras in general. Just got my first camera - zv e10 - & I’m getting very comfortable with the kit lens & looking to get my second one. After watching this video I’m def more confident on what I want, a million thanks! Extremely helpful. P.s - I watched another video right before this one for the same reason (which lens should I get next?) & though it was helpful it did feel incomplete. A million thanks & I look forward to watching more ini
Great detailed review ! Nice to see the footage from all of these lenses. Must have been a lot of work to edit all this footage. Sony has a nice and wide variety of quality lenses for apsc. This is amazing for beginners and enthusiasts.
Yes it was a ton of work, but I new so many people would benefit by seeing the lenses in action in the same studio environment. I really appreciate the kind words Luis :)
That is fair, and the Sigma looks to be a great lens! I never used it myself, so it honestly go a overlooked more than it should have ;) I also think the Tamron 17-70 and Sony Zeiss 16-70mm lenses are a bit more versatile with the zoom range... As an alternative to the kit lens though, yeah the Sigma is a Killer option!
First! After seeing a lot of videos explaining about photography, i believe you did the best job covering all the topics. I Just got my a6700 and really love the street photography, but i'm in a little doubt which lens to buy, i know people goes from 15mm to 50mm for street photo, but i want to choose one to start, what lens you considering to be the best for street photography? price and weight i know are important, but focusing in best at all even if it's very expensive. Thank you so much
For street photography I prefer using a fast prime lens, something like the Sigma 33mm, because it's very lite weight as well, however a versatile zoom like the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens would be a great option. I really like the f/1.4 lenses though and the Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 lens is extra awesome, but so large and heavy compared to the Sigma 33mm it's a hard choice depending on how fat the walk is... Those are my thoughts, but it really depends on what you like to shoot and how you view things. A lot of people prefer a wide angle lens for street if there more into architecture for example, so if that is you the 11mm or 13mm lenses might be worth considering.
Gosh this is thorough! Thank you! I'm so interested in the camera to use instead of the my Nikon Z6 for making videos for my youtube channel. It's a nice camera but it's not the perfect solution for video content. I wondered what lens options I would have and you detailed the range in a spectacular fashion.
i would definitely recommend a Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 lens - wonderful compact zoom lens for aps-c for a small price. If I had no Tamron 17-70, I would definitely buy this lens instead. I can agree on most of your recommendations though. cheers!
Thank you so much for this video! I got the ZVE10 last year and I'm still really in love with it! Since I got it with the kit lens, I really want to upgrade. My eyes are on the Sigma 56mm f/1.4. I want to do product photography with more sharpness since the kit lens doesn't give much. :)
Hello and that is a fantastic option for that purpose ;) Also the higher telephoto length will have less distortion for a more accurate capture which is very import for products! All the best, Jay
i would suggest you try the sigma 30 mm f 1.4 it is much more versatile and is also amazing for product photography its basically the nifty fifty for apsc google that term and you will see why photographers love that focal range with the 30 you have a lens that could be your daily driver and live on the camera plus you save quite a bit of money
Great channel! Just discovered you since it was time to dust off my old canon xti with my 17-55 2.8 lense or my 50 1.8 and realized it was dead. Pretty much set on the ev10 for some filming as well. I love my blur and fast lenses so this helped a ton!
Great video, I'm glad i came across this video while searching for lens options for my ZV-E10, it was a one stop shop for me. You had all the information I was looking for and then some. Love the all the examples you put into the video. I only have the kit lens so far but I'm in the market for a wider lens. Thinking the Viltrox 13mm will do great for my ZV-E10 and Ronin S2 gimbal.
Hey Jason, I really appreciate your content. The detailed explanation is unmatched compared to other channels. I recently purchased the Sony ZV-E10. I'm shooting Podcast style videos at a desk, as well as man on the street interviews on sidewalks, events, etc. What lens or lenses do you think would best suit my needs? I'm trying to keep the cost under $700. Thanks so much!
hi mate I've been watching your videos, I love the way you put content, I would love to know which lens are using you in this video Greetings from Chile, Aconcagua Valley.
Hey there and thanks for the kind words. As of today I am using my Sony A7C and the main camera with the FE 35mm f/1.8 Lens. The B camera I am using the A6400 and Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens, and the overhead rig camera is the ZV-E10 with the E 16-70mm f/4 OSS ZA Lens.
That Sigma is a great option I should have included in this guide, but I did not use that lens myself yet, so I did not have any sample photos or video to show.. Bottom line that is a fantastic option for a kit lens zoom range alternative!
First at all thanks for all the explanation your video explanation method is real nice. For filming on wedding, celebration, partys or stuff what lenses I have to pick as first options? Just filming not photography
Great video! I’m just beginning and I got the 16-50mm and I really want to get a second one. I will use it for traveling and a wedding in Italy. Should i get one of the Sony G lenses?

Thank you and excellent choices!
Thanks for this information which I do need.
Hello sir.
I have 16 to 50 kit lense. Sigma 30mm. And Tamron 17 70. Will you suggest 55-210mm lense for zoom lense ?
Good choice and thanks for the very kind words Carlos :)
Very informative video and great effort !!!
I would go with the 11mm 1.8F!
This was an incredibly helpful video. Shame there aren't more views on this, it was very well made. Thank you!
Thanks Jalen and your view and kind comments are helping those numbers ;) All the best, Jay
Excellent video , continue to make such videos Best of luck 🙌❤️
Thank you so much 😀
Hey Jason, I really appreciate your content.
I would consider something like the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 Lens: geni.us/jwuIF4 It's nice to have that versatile zoom when you need it!
hi mate I've been watching your videos, I love the way you put content, I would love to know which lens are using you in this video
Greetings from Chile, Aconcagua Valley.
Hi Jason, great work! Helps me to find out the best lenses for my ZV E10. What do you think about the Sigma 18-50 2.8? Greats, Mathias
That Sigma is a great option I should have included in this guide, but I did not use that lens myself yet, so I did not have any sample photos or video to show.. Bottom line that is a fantastic option for a kit lens zoom range alternative!
Amazing video. Wow. Thankyou so so much
Thank you for the kind words and you are very welcome :)
Other than the Sony E 11mm lens in the video do you have any recommendations for ultra wide angle lens'?
Great review and very detail too. Many thanks and keep up the great work. Cheers! ^^
Thanks for this video...great job with this camera
Thanks Ed :)
First at all thanks for all the explanation your video explanation method is real nice.
For filming on wedding, celebration, partys or stuff what lenses I have to pick as first options? Just filming not photography
I like the way you explain 🥰 kit lens is nice
Excellent video. I’m a total newb and am wondering if you might be able to tell me how far your camera was placed from your face?
Thanks and I showed you that in the video when I reached out and touched the camera. So about arms length I would say to be clear...
Great video! I’m just beginning and I got the 16-50mm and I really want to get a second one. I will use it for traveling and a wedding in Italy. Should i get one of the Sony G lenses?
