I actually like Jak 3 more than Jak II. But hey, it's an opinion. It didn't cause me to break my PS3 controller a few times and I thought driving a vehicle was really fun.
I feel the excact same way. I liked the setting of a barren wasteland and the different vehicle options. I also liked the story a lot. But like you said: taste is subjective
The setting and vehicles and fact that we have two worlds to explore and the metal heads constantly attacking the city makes it somewhat better. But the story and the missions are worse than jak 2 so I go with jak 2
My quick review for the jack games Jack and Daxter: enjoyable Jack II: love hate relationship Jack 3: Love it Jack X Combat Racing: Enjoyable Jack and Daxter The Lost Frontier: Could have been better
They just need to make an HD UPGRADED Remastering of all the jack games that would sell Really well. and at the same time Flush out some of those ISSUES
I absolutely love Jak 3. It built upon Jak II without changing too much which kept it familiar but it also threw in a lot of mini games and challenges. It was fun and engaging all the way through. Even though it does have some flaws it's almost a perfectly executed sequel to Jak II. I actually didn't like Jak II, for me it was too challenging and not very engaging. It just felt like I was constantly running errands. But in Jak 3 I actually felt like almost all the missions had purpose, but then again that's my opinion. To say it's a bad game because you don't like is unfair. There's plenty of games I hate that are considered good games. For example I don't really like RPG's but that doesn't mean they're bad.
Jak X can be a punishing experience if you're not well versed in racing games, on the flip side it can be so rewarding to know you've nailed a corner perfectly and hooked up a straight. Each track has a lot of character that you can't take for granted, it pretty much forces you to be aggressive so that you've not constantly spinning from understeer or having any number of random bumps shift the whole car. It can be mastered and when you plant your first perfect lap you will want it over and over again.
you gotta have a Rachet Deadlocked save on the same memory card as the Jak X save. You can also get some of the characters from Daxter and a special car called the Daxter Mobile if you link the game with the psp Daxter game.
My first video in 2015! I wanted to get this out before last year ended, but holiday shenanigans got in the way. We're nearing the end of the marathon though! Just one more...soul crushing game to go. Now that the trilogy is out of the way, which of Naughty Dog's early properties do you prefer: Crash or Jak? I'm definitely a marsupial fan, myself. Thanks and enjoy!
Congrats for 2015's first vid heehee ^^ I quite like Jak 3 myself, but everyone got different opinions so it's cool :D and Jak X, carnage FTW, I love that game's combat, even when I blow up loads XD This has been a fun review :D and I look forward to Frontier's :) I don't think it's awful, but...falls a little flat next to Naughty Dog's awesomeness sadly. Overall though, Jak & Daxter is my fave series of the two choices you gave us XD sorry Crash, but Jak is actually my fave video game series of all time to boot as well lol
I prefer Jak, even with it's flaws. Can't wait to see you review Lost Frontier. It's the only Jak game I haven't played, but I've heard terrible things.
3:40 Actually, the game does explain. They're essentially Marauders who make a living off of finding artifacts and killing anyone that A. Trespasses on their land, or B. is a wastelander out to find said artifacts as well. Basically the petty thieves of the desert.
you should have talked about how Ashelin came to the wasteland to get jak, he refuses to go with her then immediately takes the longest hardest fuckin way to get back
Everyone's giving you shit for your Jak 3 review, which while a little lazy was fine. You don't think it's fantastic, pointed out some reasonable flaws, and that's a fine opinion. But I really don't think you should have crammed in a review of Jak X as well. It came across as an afterthought when it IS, to be fair, its own complete game. On top of that, you didn't even finish it! I'm sorry, but you really shouldn't review a game you haven't finished. And it's not like it's THAT hard. My ten year old self could beat, I'm sure you could too with enough time, effort, and practice. I know this review is over a year old, and it's obviously well past the point where this could be considered relevant, but you should have devoted this entire video to Jak 3. You could have further fleshed out the review, explaining your point of view on the game. Then you could have given yourself a bit more time to beat Jak X, and then had a full video for that too.
+Mixa In Jak 3, you are very overpowered, it's almost impossible to die. The majority of the deaths are 'oops, missed the jump' or shit, I ran out of time. If you get hurt, Light heal. Light Jak, aside from the heal, is pretty useless unless required in a mission. Dark Jak is a bit more useful, with his dmg reduction and power spike. In Jak 2, the majority of the game is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! Jak 2 you needed the guns to get even with the guards, and the guards....the damn guards. 3 types: The, "how the hell did you pass, you cant even fight" kind, the "won academy sharpshooter award 7 times consecutively" kind, and the Kamikaze vehicle guards. Not to mention the turrets that annihilate your vehicles. The game was hard, but very fun, with a huge diffuculty spike when sun guards where introduced
Krimzon Shadow Yeah, Jak3 was more about the guns, eco powers were mainly for puzzles which I was pretty fine with, One thing that Lost Frontier did right was to actually make the eco powers more viable in battle. In Jak1 they were also only for puzzles, and in Jak2 next to worthless since you died so often anyways:3 Jak 2 was very oldschool, you had these guns and really nothing else, the checkpoints were rare and it was hard as fuck.
I, for once, think Jak X is my favourite racing game. It's lots of fun to play with friends, the soundtrack is kick ass and while the game's AI is relentless in it's offensive I've come up with strategies that made most of the races quite the smooth sailing, such as holding the red weapons for deflecting missile attacks, only using them when I'm about to go thru another red weapon "bubble", that way I always have some defense against the missiles, staying the majority of the race in 2nd place to avoid this game's equivalent to the blue shell and only going 1st at the end of the last lap, and using boosts at the end of a drift to help me adjust the trajectory of my car.
story wise I don't have the same rose tinted glasses I do for the story as I used to when I was younger, but honestly for Naughty Dogs first attempt at a more serious story they could've done a lot more worse. were there plot holes? sure, cliches? yup, flaws in the dialogue? yup, was the story bad? fuck no! the story was something of an ode to various movie genres/movies, with Precursor Legacy you had the heroes on a quest story, with Jak II you had the post apocalypse story mixed with some cyberpunk elements, and with Jak 3 you had a brilliant story of redemption (though I have to admit I find it odd that Haven City were quick to stab Jak in the back but you could argue that politics had an involvement in that decision)
I know this comment is 2 years old, but I believe the Crash music references how both the Crash Trilogy and Jak Trilogy were created by Naughty Dog.....it was kinda funny how crash 1’s music was used for the review of Jak and Daxter 1 and so on
I want to mention how I love the customization you can do in Jak X, how I love it and wish there was more racing games with this level of customization, but I don't think anybody will read this here on a very old video. Shame, really, with little else new relevant reviews.
I love that I've watched enough TH-cam during the quarantine to associate Antdude's outro with Scott The Woz and the ending "No, Nooooooo" with Saberspark's Monkey Moses meme
Jak X is one of the best racing games ever. I wouldn't put it over CTR because nostalgia, but this game makes SO many things right I can't believe it. Your opponents are ALWAYS on your ass, and the pack is together almost always, so you have to be careful constantly, you'll never be winning by a landslide. Also the weapons make it all the more fun (or frustrating, depending on the situation). There will be times when you're in 1st, get destroyed, and all of a sudden you're 6th (last), but you can climb back up the rankings just as fast as you dropped down, making the results a total mystery until you're almost at the finish line. You will rage at that last moment take-out that screwed you from winning, and you will feel like a master when you do that to somebody else, no better feeling than out-boosting an opponent right before the finish line, it's really intense, and I've never had such fun with a racing game in years.
I kinda wish this game was more different to Jak 2. Like, I don't mind parts 1 and 2 of the trilogy being so different in presentation so long as 3 carries on the tradition. It's cool if every entry of a trilogy re-invents itself, like with Evil Dead.
@Captain Rupertikjakmos if Jak 3 was different though it would give it more of it's own identity and plus be a unique type of trilogy that has three vastly different games. I think it's a great idea and not just seem like jak II only worse.
well it's probably cause naughty dog didn't continue the series which is an absolute shame cause the jak and daxter story to me is confusing at epic at the time cause when there us time travel involved it's confusing. And I'm still trying to put the pieces together still cause in love this series. I love both in just want to see jak 4 or should I say a reboot which I don't really want cause the triolgy left at a great cliffhanger. and ratchet is more popular because imsomnic loved there mascots. If naughty dog aren't going to do anything with jak or daxter why don't they give it to a different company who will treat it with respect and maybe continue where they left off.
jak X was one of the BEST spinoffs, i have ever played in my life. i first played this game when i was 9, and when i was 14 (which i am now) i went back and played it again. fucking awesome game ps. you just suck at the game, crashing is not happening all the time. unless you ofcourse suck at the game like he did
here's the difference though **spoiler alert** Baron Praxis died from striking a deal with the devil (pretty much), Damas died from helping Jak to save the world.
I don’t know why but in jak 3, there is one part where you drive to a temple in the desert and there are like these invisible dudes? I haven’t played the game since I was 6 so I’m probably sounding insane but whatever. But that specific part with the invisible dudes always scared the crap out of me! It was so stressful and like I said... *I DON’T KNOW WHY!*
***** If I haven't read your comment, I would have no idea the sun was meant to be green. Seriously, Mass Media, what the heck? I've also heard the game-breaking stadium glitch in Jak II was not fixed. Another WTF.
ThePreciseClimber No, there was the regular yellon sun, and another huge green star, which i personaly refer to as "Green Eco Sun", but its just known as the green star. Its not important to the story like the Day Star, but still it was awesome to look at in the original games, it made Jak's world feel even more unique.
The Jak series is the my favorite game series of all time and they were my games when growing up and I have to say, you nailed these reviews spot. I loved these reviews. I don't get stuck to nostalgia when people review old games I like and I feel like thats why I like these so much, I like seeing what people think and I don't get mad from the outcome.
Idk man, being told you were that were the son of Damus (who got sent to the future) really fucked my mind up when I was a kid. It just blew my mind that you were born in the future, and sent back in time just to time travel again.
***** so yeah i was looking at that poster behind your head and....yeah if you haven't already guessed where this is going i've got to ask...are you planning on doing an ōkami review?
I found the villain Errol to be a weak choice for the main antagonist. He served better as a secondary one in Jak 2, so it was like how Prince Charming was the main antagonist of Shrek 3 after he was the secondary in 2. His boss segments weren't very imaginative either; instead of changing up and using the concept that a cyborg would be a fearsome melee opponent, boss showdowns are him shooting at you and taking turns with waves of minions.
I liked Jak 3 a lot. It's a great game. However, I think it's the weakest of the trilogy. It just felt... off. The pacing was weird, none of the missions stood out, and Jak 2 did literally everything better. I can't decide between Jak and Daxter and Jak 2 as my favorite, but I'm starting to lean towards Jak 2. They're all great games though.
I disagree thought the game was great I only had nitpickey problems like why did jak decline to go back to haven then he decides to go the longest route ever. but I know the missions in jak 3 stand out cause they was some of the hardest missions I have played in any game I think everyone agrees with me 2 of the hardest missions in that game was the strip mine level where you have to seal up the eco vent in 2 minutes or the infamous sewer mission were you have to protect junk and the other 2 my god I hate that Misson and when I get the cutscene from crew I just want to head but the wall. but to me I personally liked JAK 3 cause it was like a full on war game which I loved and isn't it werid how nearly in every 3rd game it's like a full on war
I can understand your trouble with Jak X. I played through it getting gold metal on every track up until the last cup. The difficulty spiked amazingly hard and I could barely even get bronze metals.
Hey antdude, Are you going to do a top 33 ace attorney cases? (every case excluding ace attorney vs. Professor layton. If you include that one its going to be top 37 or 38, don't exactly rememberhow many cases there wore in that one). I'm curious on your opinion on all the cases.
I had Jak X Combat Racing. Literally never played it. Our PS2 controllers broke shortly after I got the game for Christmas, and by the time we got a new controller, we'd sold a bunch of our games in order to afford a Wii so we could get Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Wow.... Lots of people in this comment section cannot take a different opinion... Jak 3 is my most favorite game of all time. Played it since I was 6. And I accept this guys review completely. Holy shit :|
Dude, you don't know?! If you have save data for Ratchet: Deadlocked on the same memory card that you have Jak X: Combat Racing, you can unlock Ratchet as a secret driver!
if there is save data of Ratchet and Clank Deadlocked on the Ps2, Ratchet can be an unlockable Character in Jak X combat racing, and in Deadlocked, Jak can be an unlockable skin
This review is terrible. Here's why. 1. Jak 3 isn't the exact same game. If you mean it's the same KIND of game as Jak II, then sure. It's a 3D platformer/third-person sandbox shooter. The gunplay is a lot better in this game since Jak locks onto enemies more easily, the gun upgrades are awesome and more plentiful than Jak II, Dark Jak is improved since you don't need to be at full percent with your dark Eco in order to transform, and you can shift back to normal at will. Oh, and Light Jak's great for healing yourself whenever there's no more health pick-ups. So if anything, the core gameplay is much better than Jak II, and the checkpoints are a lot more reasonable. 2. You're embarassing attempts to sound funny begin falling flat when you call Seem "Idunno, a hippie?". Every character, including Seem himself, clearly state that he's a monk who worships the Precursors. It's not a good joke when the fact that he's a monk is already common knowledge. 3. Of course the desert's not as busy as Haven City, dumbass. It's a desert... There's still plenty to do in it, though. Aren't you forgetting the Precursor statues and the challenges issued by Cleaver? Oh, and those "random maniacs" are marauders... Daxter says during several missions "We gotta chase those marauders, Jak!". Why are they there? Well think about it, it's in the name... They'll raid anyone unlucky enough to be in their way and take whatever they can get. And I didn't have as much trouble as you when driving across the wastelands. Sure, it's bumpy, and a little annoying at first, but most human beings who play a game learn to adapt and improve. It's pretty satisfying, to me at least, gunning down marauders in an armed buggy. 4. Those "random" missions aren't random at all, in any context. The changes in gameplay actually give the game an identity, not an identity crisis. They keep things fresh, without overstaying their welcome, and they're all executed pretty damn well. 5. Kleiver also makes you do races and vehicle challenges which earn you more vehicles. You completely ignored that fact. 6. I don't think you understand how romance works... "ASHELIN HAS MORE DIALOGS DAN KEIRA DOES! DAS BAD! AND SHE BE NICE TO JAK LOTS AND TALK TO HIM MORE, DAT MEANS DEY IN LUV!". It was made pretty fucking obvious during the end of Jak II that Ashelin had eyes for Torn. It's even hinted at during Jak X. 7. Yeah, it was an emotional scene. Sure, it was already spoiled to me, but after seeing Damas slowly open up to Jak and become more of a father figure to him, only to die after helping him without realising that was his long-lost son was pretty sad. To add salt on the wound, Vegar taunts Jak that his father never knew his son was with him till it was too late. Though none of that matters apparently, because for some unexplained reason you dictate to us, the story is a mess... I think what you meant to say was the script for your review was a mess. 8. Yeah, let's gloss over the fact that Cyber Errol was more than just "a thing", he was the main fucking villain. Let's not explain how he was already present in the game before the second half, or that he was the one who controlled the Death Bots, or that he planned on crashing that star into the planet to kill everyone and everything, or that you have to take him down in an epic final battle in which you use a buggy to shoot his Darkmaker Ship's legs down, then climb onto his back and finish him off after making it through everything he throws at you. 9. Going straight into your Jak X review, you just steal a joke that was already made in the game, regarding how Krew's daughter looks nowhere near as deformed as he does. How lazy do you have to be? 10. Use each red eco weapon just before you're about to collect another one and you'll eventually get a more defensive one that'll help with the more dangerous attacks from the other racers. It's this little thing called "Strategy". You might wanna use it more when you play games, not to mention games that aren't even that hard to begin with. 11. Okay, there's no doubt about it, you suck at driving in games. The driving in Jak X was much smoother than Jak 3, and yet you STILL have trouble? Again, most human beings learn to get used to the controls of a game after like, what? 30 minutes? Maybe an hour tops? Track memorisation also helps. 12. Ummmm... What? Each vehicle in the game has their own different weight. How the fuck is "changing the weight" supposed to be a crucial attribute missing from vehicle customisation? Isn't improving the top speed, acceleration, armour and turbo enough? And how would the characters logically add more weight to the vehicles that are supposed to be light? Do you expect them to just throw a few bags of sand into the cockpit or something? What fucked-up logic is this? Sorry AntDude, I generally enjoy your content, but this double review was atrocious. You tried too hard to be funny in the style of game reviewers before you that you ended up being the one with an identity crisis, and your review suffered as a result. It made you come off as completely closed-minded and ignorant, you glossed over the more noteworthy features of Jak 3 without taking time to do them justice, and you brought up no legitimate complaints whatsoever in either game. All the problems you did mention were down to your personal preference or skill, and you wrote them off as being genuine problems without justifying yourself. You really need to do a redux review, because this is so bad.
NintendanGX Believe me, this is my least favorite video since I rebooted my channel last Summer. I reached a point of "Man, I painted myself into a corner with talking about Jak 3 and I don't like the game all that much." I was also more focused on getting this video out so I can progress to Buck Bumble, which I considered the start of my "Season 2." At the end of the day, I don't take back what I said about Jak 3 & X. The games simply don't do much for me. And for example, you argue the missions give Jak 3 and identity, but I still believe it's more of an identity crisis. It's perfectly fine to agree to disagree! I didn't try to upset people; that's just how I feel.
NintendanGX Honestly, I thought the story in Jak 3 was very gripping, more so than Jak 2's storyline. For some reason, to me, it felt like they were working towards these events in the previous games as well, and this time it's about saving the world, which makes Jak 3's story pretty damn epic in my opinion. Kind of like a grand finale to the trilogy, you know? There are so many things I like about this game (the epic soundtrack is another one - and I believe AntDude got that seriously wrong in this review), but the story is the main thing which makes me remember this game and series. I still enjoyed this review because I like to hear other people's opinions, but I couldn't believe what I was hearing when Dude said the story in this game is a mess. Oh well, everyone has their opinion...
I like Jack 3’s story. It’s not great but it’s much more driven by characters. Not perfect but even the anti climactic ending is made up for by a huge amount of heart. I think Daxter’s arc is cute and funny. It works very well
the music to jak x isn’t just good, it’s AMAZING! i mean, they were able to put in music by QUEENS OF THE FUCKING STONE AGE. they also got the guitarist from A Perfect Circle to come in and help out with the entire soundtrack, which is awesome on it’s own.
Hey I grew up playing the ALL of the jak games. I love all of them since they really give me a challenge and make me feel like a badass. Jak 2 was my favorite out of all of them.
Dude. at least you gave an honest review, with all your feels and such. But I honestly loved the Jak Trilogy. No matter the flaws you said it has. I enjoyed the collecting in the first game, not that it means I'm boring, but I enjoyed it so much, Jak and Daxter became a part of my life. Jak 2, God Jak 2 was such a change for me, but It turned to a dark side,ha get it! fuck it. Anyways, I very much enjoyed a lot more of Jak 2,the story was a solid A for me,sure music wasn't so upbeat or whatever, but it took more of a darker beat and fit for each situation honestly,I never really used the scatter spin shooting with the rifle honestly,I did my combos. Jak 3 was a new turn on story, but It wasn't all that weak to me,it dug further about Jak's purpose and what he is meant to be,adding the new gun mods was a big deal for me and a whole lot easier to get through a whole bunch of bullshit. Jak 3 was better though in terms of the Dark form and improved gun play. You can turn back and fourth on Dark Jak and Light Jak,and its fun to just fuck around with the citizens using the gravity gun mod and including the Nuke mod. Jak 3 music was more of a dune/desert type of feel to it,it fit the game. Overall, I loved and really enjoyed these games. Except I admit, a handful of missions pissed me the fuck off, I raged out so hard. But other than that I love and adore these games man.
Jak X is the same but the cart have a Health frames where taking chip damage in a focused area can hinder steering and max speed which is auto patched after crashing, & a Dark eco meter when at max from explosion other racers upgrades whatever pickups to dangerous levels. Weapons with Max Dark Eco can turn the entire race in their favor, even the Peace maker (the games Blue Shell) even has that, think Blue shell with the hitbox of a banzai bill, normal grounded turret shooting bullets are firing missiles, & simple oil slick are set on fire & have you taking damage while on fire.
I got The Lost Frontier knowing full well beforehand that it had a lot of problems and that I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much as any of the other games in the series.

Just too many mini games in 3 lmao. But you know what it’s been years since I played maybe I’ll try again and see. Still love both
My quick review for the jack games
Jack and Daxter: enjoyable
Jack II: love hate relationship
Jack 3: Love it
Jack X Combat Racing: Enjoyable
Jack and Daxter The Lost Frontier: Could have been better
What about Daxter for the PSP?
***** Daxter: Could have been better story was well throught out
agreed
They just need to make an HD UPGRADED Remastering of all the jack games that would sell Really well. and at the same time Flush out some of those ISSUES
We have the same opinions my friend
I gotta say, I love the change of scenery in Jak 3. The desert area is actually pretty cool and contrasts nicely with the city
Jak 3 is my favorite out of the trilogy
Really? Most ppl I know who've played the games usually say the 2nd is the best with the 1st a close second.
Jak 3 is so fun to play. I prefer it over the other two games
Same, Jak 3 felt like an expansion on the ideas from jak 2 done right.
Same I liked the desert driving. 2 was amazing and the story was a bit better but I still preferred 3
In my opinion it just felt bland in terms of side content and color, but the gameplay was still kinda fun
jak 2 and 3 will never bore me, play them to infinity.
I actually preferred Jak 3's dune buggies and desert compared to Jak 2's urban setting. I guess it's a perspective thing.
3 felt like the best because you got to do both.
Huge disagree. The Desert felt so empty and all the missions were bad, including the final boss
It's all subjective. I prefer the desert aswell
"They're really just a bunch of JAKasses."
I have no words.
Really makes you feel like a crazy driver, so much adrenaline
Also...Why didn't you mention that Ratchet was a playable character in Jak X?
LordHelix I didn't even know he was! That's a cool easter egg though.
you gotta have a Rachet Deadlocked save on the same memory card as the Jak X save. You can also get some of the characters from Daxter and a special car called the Daxter Mobile if you link the game with the psp Daxter game.
And did you know you can play as Jak (from the first one) in Deadlocked?
"That's when I - pun intended - decided to hit the breaks"
Damn straight, people give puns far too much hate.
I realized that in this marathon, Antdude says the phrase,”...To save my life.” In every Episode, Just saying.
Bro honestly as a kid i found that "dance dance revolution" part hard
Jak 3 might just be the best game I ever played.
You sir have not played enough video games in your life then
Breh u got a lot to learn about good platformers
@@kyleashby882 I wouldn’t consider 2 and 3 to really be platformers. They borrow some elements but they seem more like 3rd person action shooters.
It’s so surreal hearing Scott the Woz’s outro on an AntDude video
Um acktually, ant did it first
@@christheleavittman7080 I know
Wow! I never knew people found Jak X hard. I beat the game when I was 8. I'll try giving it another go to see if I was magical when I was 8
My first video in 2015!
I wish I could play both.
Impossible decision for me lol.
Omg this episode was so good! XD
Congrats for 2015's first vid heehee ^^ I quite like Jak 3 myself, but everyone got different opinions so it's cool :D and Jak X, carnage FTW, I love that game's combat, even when I blow up loads XD
This has been a fun review :D and I look forward to Frontier's :) I don't think it's awful, but...falls a little flat next to Naughty Dog's awesomeness sadly.
Jak all the way. Even X.
3:40 Actually, the game does explain. They're essentially Marauders who make a living off of finding artifacts and killing anyone that A. Trespasses on their land, or B. is a wastelander out to find said artifacts as well. Basically the petty thieves of the desert.
0:09-0:11 Look at AntDude accepting his loss so calmly!
Damn, this is the trilogy of videos that introduced me to you, and your videos have certainly changed. Thanks for some amazing years Antdude :D
you should have talked about how Ashelin came to the wasteland to get jak, he refuses to go with her then immediately takes the longest hardest fuckin way to get back
I still haven't gotten over that goatee. That was a sign of things to come for me.
At the end of Jak X, Jak and Keira don't get 'Interrupted'
Everyone's giving you shit for your Jak 3 review, which while a little lazy was fine. You don't think it's fantastic, pointed out some reasonable flaws, and that's a fine opinion.
But I really don't think you should have crammed in a review of Jak X as well. It came across as an afterthought when it IS, to be fair, its own complete game.
Makes sense
100% agree
He also stole dexters joke about crews daughter.
When I got the game back in 04, I was convinced that Kleiver sent the Marauders out of spite because he lost a race...
I'm TIREd of all your car puns
I 100% Jak X when I was 12, then my save data corrupted but I still loved the game, and Jak 3 is the best in the series
The gun balance for Jak 3 was terrible, ricocheting yellow rifle op. Also it was the easiest ammo type to find.
In Jak1 they were also only for puzzles, and in Jak2 next to worthless since you died so often anyways:3
Jak 2 was very oldschool, you had these guns and really nothing else, the checkpoints were rare and it was hard as fuck.
Mixa Jak 2, back when games didnt hold your hand
Actually, wouldn't that make it the opposite of terrible? Unless you mean terribly broken
0:54 and that's why I've stuck with you since 2008.
I love that Okami poster
You must be good as fuck at Jak X then.
story wise I don't have the same rose tinted glasses I do for the story as I used to when I was younger, but honestly for Naughty Dogs first attempt at a more serious story they could've done a lot more worse. were there plot holes? sure, cliches? yup, flaws in the dialogue? yup, was the story bad? fuck no! the story was something of an ode to various movie genres/movies, with Precursor Legacy you had the heroes on a quest story, with Jak II you had the post apocalypse story mixed with some cyberpunk elements, and with Jak 3 you had a brilliant story of redemption (though I have to admit I find it odd that Haven City were quick to stab Jak in the back but you could argue that politics had an involvement in that decision)
Question: Why did you use Crash music in this series?
I know this comment is 2 years old, but I believe the Crash music references how both the Crash Trilogy and Jak Trilogy were created by Naughty Dog.....it was kinda funny how crash 1’s music was used for the review of Jak and Daxter 1 and so on
I want to mention how I love the customization you can do in Jak X, how I love it and wish there was more racing games with this level of customization, but I don't think anybody will read this here on a very old video. Shame, really, with little else new relevant reviews.
Veger didn't banish Krew to the wasteland along with Jak, AntDude.
It's just only Jak.
I kind of love the whole Wizard of Oz 'reveal behind the curtain' thing with the Precursors. Even though I'm sure a lot of fans hated what they were.
Fun Fact: Jak is actually playable in Ratchet Deadlocked and its vice versa in Jak X Racing
I love that I've watched enough TH-cam during the quarantine to associate Antdude's outro with Scott The Woz and the ending "No, Nooooooo" with Saberspark's Monkey Moses meme
To be fair, the end twist of Jak 3 seems like the perfect twist for this series.
You will rage at that last moment take-out that screwed you from winning, and you will feel like a master when you do that to somebody else, no better feeling than out-boosting an opponent right before the finish line, it's really intense, and I've never had such fun with a racing game in years.
wow, thanks a lot for the spoiler tag, most people wouldn't do that. Made the review that much more entertaining. You's a good guy
Tess becomes an Ottsel? Would still do.
@Captain Rupertikjakmos and how'd that work out? no more mainstream Jak games after that. Game must not of been that good.
@@lamontyaboy718 by your logic call of duty is the greatest game series of all time.
@@owentova call of duty is the exact same damn game ever year. The exact opposite of what i was saying about how the games should be different.
@@lamontyaboy718 I'm talking about how you said their were no more mainstream Jak games so it must have been bad.
Those guys that attack you in the desert are explained. They're marauders, you even raid their home base to get back something they stole from Seem.
"They're really just a bunch of Jak asses... "
Aaaaand subscribed.
Jak is such an underrated series imo.. ratchet gets wayyy to much credit.. its like call of duty(ratchet) vs battlefield(jak)
well it's probably cause naughty dog didn't continue the series which is an absolute shame cause the jak and daxter story to me is confusing at epic at the time
cause when there us time travel involved it's confusing.
Alex Nanton I literally just said this. Like they mad a ratchet a clank movie when we all rather had had a jack and daxter movie
jak X was one of the BEST spinoffs, i have ever played in my life. i first played this game when i was 9, and when i was 14 (which i am now) i went back and played it again. fucking awesome game
ps. you just suck at the game, crashing is not happening all the time. unless you ofcourse suck at the game like he did
mads wulff aaaand they should fucking remaster jak X
They should revitalize the entire franchise, it has such a huge cult following
The driving is awesome, and the desert doesn't suck.
Funny man with opinions.
Never played the 2nd game so this one seemed amazing to me after 1 as a young kid playing it.
here's the difference though **spoiler alert** Baron Praxis died from striking a deal with the devil (pretty much), Damas died from helping Jak to save the world.
For Jak X, the last boss race is rage inducing. I have never gotten so mad at a game, than I did with the final race.
It's been 12 years since jak 3. If it comes out in another 10 years I'll have kids that will want to play it.
1:28 torn just got so mad when he slammed the desk his atoms rearranged
I agree with the guys below - The Jak series is AWESOME and I think Jak X was not that hard...I finished it as a kid :p
***** Never once crashed for me
Daxter said it best: "Krew....REPRODUCED?!?!?!"
All of the jak games were great...
Except the lost frontier we don’t talk about that :3
I don’t know why but in jak 3, there is one part where you drive to a temple in the desert and there are like these invisible dudes? I haven’t played the game since I was 6 so I’m probably sounding insane but whatever. But that specific part with the invisible dudes always scared the crap out of me! It was so stressful and like I said... *I DON’T KNOW WHY!*
One weird thing about Jak 3 HD is that the Day Star is not visible during gameplay. In fact, the whole nighttime sky seems messed up.
and the Green Eco Sun is not visible in not visible in any of the games, wtf?
***** If I haven't read your comment, I would have no idea the sun was meant to be green. Seriously, Mass Media, what the heck? I've also heard the game-breaking stadium glitch in Jak II was not fixed. Another WTF.
ThePreciseClimber No, there was the regular yellon sun, and another huge green star, which i personaly refer to as "Green Eco Sun", but its just known as the green star. Its not important to the story like the Day Star, but still it was awesome to look at in the original games, it made Jak's world feel even more unique.
Jak 3 sealed my love for the desert aesthetic.
Can I have your mask~
Idk man, being told you were that were the son of Damus (who got sent to the future) really fucked my mind up when I was a kid. It just blew my mind that you were born in the future, and sent back in time just to time travel again.
tbh jak and vegers reaction when they find out who the precursors are is exactly the same as the players.
Funny thing, Jak 3 was the first game of the francise i've ever played
***** so yeah i was looking at that poster behind your head and....yeah if you haven't already guessed where this is going i've got to ask...are you planning on doing an ōkami review?
I've played Jak 3 when I was a young kid in Alabama and it looks really fun to mess around with your weapons!
3:31 Gee, that really reminds me of The-Banjo-Kazooie-Game-That-Should-Not-Be-Named...
Ahem... 3:04 to 3:31.
I'm not kidding when I say that Jak X CR is my favorite racing game of all time
I loved Jak X. 1st place, every race, hero mode. I know, I'm awesome.
I loved this game- I got really good at drifting corners perfectly
After coming from Scott The Woz (his older videos anyway), it's pretty weird to hear that ending music play on someone else's channel lol
I see Jak 3 and 2 in the same way as AC2 and AC Brotherhood. They are similar but both are great and required in the franchise
Was not prepared to hear apparently the same royalty free music as Scott the Woz.
Jak 3's driving DROVE me crazy!!! XD
I can understand your trouble with Jak X. I played through it getting gold metal on every track up until the last cup. The difficulty spiked amazingly hard and I could barely even get bronze metals.
Hey antdude,
Are you going to do a top 33 ace attorney cases? (every case excluding ace attorney vs. Professor layton. If you include that one its going to be top 37 or 38, don't exactly rememberhow many cases there wore in that one).
I'm curious on your opinion on all the cases.
thank you for your hard work on these reviews, extremely entertaining
I had Jak X Combat Racing. Literally never played it. Our PS2 controllers broke shortly after I got the game for Christmas, and by the time we got a new controller, we'd sold a bunch of our games in order to afford a Wii so we could get Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
i was hoping for the "THIS IS NOT A GAME *jake & daxter stare at the camera*" xDDDD
I called that Daxter was a Precurssor before I even finished the first game.
And honestly I think the whole series was fucking awesome.
Jak and daxter 4? So can I count on you? One last time? Aha got u there with the reference
Jak 3 is my favorite of the series
if there is save data of Ratchet and Clank Deadlocked on the Ps2, Ratchet can be an unlockable Character in Jak X combat racing, and in Deadlocked, Jak can be an unlockable skin
I reached a point of "Man, I painted myself into a corner with talking about Jak 3 and I don't like the game all that much." I was also more focused on getting this video out so I can progress to Buck Bumble, which I considered the start of my "Season 2."
At the end of the day, I don't take back what I said about Jak 3 & X. The games simply don't do much for me. And for example, you argue the missions give Jak 3 and identity, but I still believe it's more of an identity crisis. It's perfectly fine to agree to disagree! I didn't try to upset people; that's just how I feel.
Nice comment, but I don't hate all of this guy's content
Stephen Aderanti I never said I hated all of his content. Just this review.
NintendanGX I know I was just mixing my opinion with you're own
NintendanGX Honestly, I thought the story in Jak 3 was very gripping, more so than Jak 2's storyline.
This was the first game in the series I actually played AND I actually enjoy it, hell, it's my favorite game in the francise next to Jak X
I played Jak 3 before Jak 2 and I think the first one is the best of them.
JakX is so fucking tight, though it does require you to memorize the tracks down to the finest details to truly be good at it.
I remember playing jak x a demo a lot.
In Mario Kart Wii, you get bombarded with items a lot and there's no way to come back in 1st place.
Daxter and the new Tes look like crash and coco honestly
0:53 Bazookas is right. Heh heh heh.
I got The Lost Frontier knowing full well beforehand that it had a lot of problems and that I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much as any of the other games in the series.
