That joke doesn't even make sense. Wrath of Cortex was a best-seller on all three consoles it was on. It made it onto the Player's Choice range on GameCube, Platinum/Greatest Hits range on PS2, and Classics range on Xbox.

4:05 Everyone got bamboozled when this game came out.
I still love this game. It was actually the first Crash Bandicoot game ever played so it holds a lot of nostalgic value in me. It feels a little different than some of the other games, has a pretty interesting story, and I love the soundtrack. Yes, it's a pretty odd game but in my opinion, I love this game and I miss playing it.
I actually really liked (and still do) Wrath Of Cortex, for the most part i fought the coolest thing about the game was its variety in levels, which for you seems to be the reason you don't like it

Except for the water levels. Anyone else noticed that water levels are generally tedious. What's with the controls? The best part is the jamming soundtrack! The tracks are catchy, my favorite is Wizards and Lizards; it's like a mix between medeival castle and good old fashioned crash soundtrack.
I enjoyed wrath of cortex it's actually my favourite crash game. Also I enjoyed the soundtrack. Also I loved the first ice level and it's background music.
Those water levels weren't even that bad, they were just hard. If you think that's bad controls, try playing the first crash game which is only compatible with the D-pad...no analog stick. Wrath of Cortex mimics the third in the trilogy which also had a bunch of vehicles.
if WoC had less vehicles and told the water levels to fuck off i think it would've been way better

I might be alone here, but as much as I hate ICE PHYSICS, I absolutely love levels based on Snow and Ice. And considering that there was almost no Ice and more snow in the first Level it was also one of my favorites. So I'm on the complete opposite site there. Also this was my first crash game, so there's still a lot of nostalgia for me that makes it not as bad. But I can see the complaint points here
honestly if the level is more snowboarding or something where you have little interaction with actual snow or ice yeah they are also one of my favorite level types I think the first level that comes to mind in that regard is ice cap zone from sonic 3 and knuckle

That's a poor comparison, they're not nearly the same.
Sonic's water levels wouldn't be half as obnoxious if you didn't constantly run the risk of drowning, a level hazard that you don't have to deal with in Crash games.

the fire elemental mask in this game is voiced by Mark Hamil, who was also the voice of firelord Ozai, ruler of the fire nation in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I love that burn against Wrath of Cortex in Twinsanity. I loved the flashback to the Twinsanity episode too, it's how I got to this channel in the first place. I enjoyed this game for the most part though.
On that boss with the mech which you called out for being unfair caused me to ragequit when I was younger.
Also I was stuck with the PS2 version.

At the very least, this game was not Enter the Dragonfly levels of disappointing. That game broke my heart, at least Wrath of Cortex was tolerable.

I remember playing this on the Xbox as a kid. I quite enjoyed it at the time, although I got stuck so never actually finished it.

Wrath Of Cortex is decent. It isn't really the best but it's fun to play for a few hours. Twin sanity is the better of the two but wrath of cortex does have some good things.

Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Vortex was one of my Favourite games on the Original Xbox, I really do not see how it's a bad game! I also remember getting nightmares from the enemies in the Castle level for some odd reason..

I actually like the concept of Crunch as a character. He was everything Crash was meant to be and more and it would have been cool to see where this could have gone, but they ended up mostly using him as a joke character from this point on.

no. Even though my overall favourite would be Warped I still love those 3 games. They are good games
I still love playing 3. Even more so now that it has refined textures along with the other 2 of the original trilogy. But Wrath of Cortex was my first Crash game so I have an important history with it. I love Twinsanity's self aware humor, but how about an HD remake? Another favorite is Team Racing and Nitro Kart. I hear Tom Kenny is in the latter. Also, Wolverine plays the Russian antagonist of that game.

Very late, but i love wrath of cortex, it was my first crash level and gives so much nostalgia and it was very fun it play whenever i played it
I liked warth of cortext. I didn't think it was that bad, and had fun with the vehicle levels.

Crash bash when you play it with a brother or a friend, is one of the greatest ps1 games that you can play.
Wrath of cortex had so many obstacles, but will remain one of the most beautiful ps2 games in my eyes

This is my favorite Crash Game! Probably because it was the first one I ever played! My Cousin and I played this together and I freaking loved it!!! That's why I really want them to remake it like they did the first 3 games!
This was my first Crash game and I still love to replay it from time to time because the animation is beautiful, the levels are so different, and the gameplay is so challenging yet fun!

I played this game for the first time months ago on an emulator. Actually enjoyed most of it including the vehicle levels, wasn't as good as the 2nd and 3rd game but still decent, just could've used more polishing before release.

The music in Wrath of Cortex was great. Darker music but still very crash like in nature. I still actively listen to the soundtrack on a regular basis. Sure I do that for nearly all the Crash games but many of my favorite crash songs are from Wrath of Cortex.
