Thanks for the great vid, share alot of the same sentiments! Love my legion Go, FPS mode takes a little while to get used to, but once you do, it really amplifies the capabilities of handhelds tremendously. Once the software catches up to the hardware competely, the experience and performance should be vastly superior to the SD and moderately superior to the Ally. Also, using sunlight/moonlight to stream games at 1600p 144 fps to this glorius screen for AAA gaming while in bed or on the couch is just pure gaming bliss. Side note: Control Freeks do work on the Legion Go with a little improvising. I have the Xbox black galaxies on mine using a little method involving boiling some water, tossing them in, then using a small pair of needlenoses to adjust accordingly.
Nine Flyer. My pleasure as always. I feel like once I get over the learning curve of using the vertical mouse I will use it a lot more. Thats very true about streaming, that’s a good way to take advantage of the giant screens max resolution. Oh dang , I’m gonna go adapt some of my Kontrol freeks. Have a good day my friend
My dude, egpu is for when you wanna dock it and have better performance on a tv or at a desk with a monitor, you don't use the egpu on the smaller screen and you're not "stuck" with it. Just unplug the cable, and bam, you're back to a handheld. It's kinda perfect if you want to have a one device solution and want this thing to be your desktop, handheld and tablet at the same time.
My experience with LLG as far as quick charging is that quick charging takes place when you charge the LLG while it is completely off or hibernating. If you are actively playing on or using it you get a VERY slow charge. When charging with it in hibernation mines went from 39% to 100% in 30 minutes.
Definitely. Just got my 100w charger and really helps, plus letting it charge like he said above while in hibernation mode charges at a really good speed tbh. deadzone fixes are a top priority so in a week I think we should have that resolved. So freaking frustrating trying to enjoy handheld mode but can't till they fix it.@@GamerHeavenOfficial
If you launch into the BIOS you can change the charging speed to fast and it’ll charge the same speed with it being off or on. Also while you’re in the bios you can change how much ram is dedicated to the GPU normally is 3 but I changed it to 6 and got much more stable performance

Great review and video. The Ally’s software updates have been sick. I went from 35-45fps at 720p with RSR at launch to now playing it at 1080p 45-55fps and it’s so smooth. Can’t wait for the Windows drivers to come out for the Steam Deck Oled so I can put Destiny and Game Pass on that and see how it performs. 🤘
YES!!! We NEED DESTINY 2 to be on the steam deck like YESTERDAY! But since I’m a recently new addict of the destiny franchise for the past half a year, I NEED A HANDHELD THAT CAN PLAY IT😅…. If Valve/Lenovo could make SteamOS a first-class citizen on devices like this, it would go a long way towards pulling me away from my Steam Deck (OLED). Seems like a sweet piece of hardware, much nicer than the ROG Ally for me (who plays mostly D-pad games). I know a lot of people enjoy having the full compatibility of Windows, but I desperately want to never think about updates or launching random apps to fiddle with hardware settings or controller remappings or anything else on my mobile handhelds.
100% agree with your closing assessment, VRR screen makes a big difference for a power-limited device. With the Ally, playing on a VRR external screen vs without VRR was day& night difference. VRR makes things so much smoother even for titles like Starfield on a portable device on 1080p
Waiting on the onex egpu. It was 599$ a week ago. Can't wait, never owned an external gpu, wish I knew more about PC upgrading. I wonder if it'll work for the legion go.

Thank you. I still use my steam deck way more than the legion but they are 2 different beasts so to speak. There’s games that the deck can’t handle at a steady frame rate that the ally and legion can 👍🏼
No without after market joycons it would be at the bottom, with the pair of ergonomic controllers I have, I would place it right below the portal in second place
I'm trying to figure out which handheld to get. So if I get his right the only thing the Legion Go has going for it is a bigger screen and the detachable joycons? It seems like a absolute mess at release. A portable handheld with dogshit battery, uncomfortable to hold, shitty button layout, slow charge, up firing speakers, loud fans, poor frontend software, thumbstick deadzones, no VRR, pointless resolution.....a bargain at 700 bucks. SIgn me up.
Whoever decided that the hardware buttons should be where the START and SELECT buttons should be, needs to be demoted to the point where they can't make decisions anymore.
I learned that they only did that because of fps mode. The wasd controller has start and select to make it easier to use them in that mode…I’m looking forward to the promised update that allows you to reassign those buttons.
@@bigstv15 It wouldn't be "that bad" if there were no buttons there, but there are buttons in the exact spot that everyone universally knows as the spot for the START and SELECT (or START and share on PS5/4) and they put they put those buttons that everyone who's ever played a game with a controller knows should be there in a different, hard to reach spot. That would be like if a car manufacturer took the blinker lever from the left of the steering wheel and put it in the center of the climate control buttons.

Aim assist for controller is cheating. Its like a keyboard user using macros to constantly get the best input. Just because your inputmethod is worse doesnt make it not cheating
