My rabbit hole journey started with "dust in a baggie" and got me here.
Same thing happened to me! Haha
the algorithim is fucking insane. wtf is google doing
Fuck yea me too man
Billy strings will get you there one way or another. 👍
Damn me too
I am going down the most amazing TH-cam rabbit hole right now
While you're here, check out the beef seeds and iron horse for more bluegrass that's oddly good. And more of ganstagrass
fuckin-a right?
Same dude. Aussie vandal in the burbs lost in the crossover warrens & don't mind at all. My mates are gon think I've been hacked sharing this trip on the book 😂🖤
I'm there as well 😃
Give us some direction, please.
Rap and bluegrass together, like a burger with cheese, doesn't get more American than this folks.
How does that explain how great this music is to the UK music lovers!? Yes very American, but somehow it relates to old world Folk.
@@ironimp1 bluegrass is just a child of folk music in the old country.
Just enjoy
I think the people in the UK get it just fine if they understand the lyrics. You don't need to be an American to get the meaning of those words.
@@ironimp1 because bluegrass came from Irish settlers in the South. And the rap part tells an interesting story.
This is like my Atlanta roots met my Georgian Appalachian roots, took one another by the hand, and smiled all the way home.
Who would have thought that two groups historically treated like dirt, kept poor, and played against each other by their society would have similar themes in their music?
You said that very well thank you my friend
Just goes to show that we're being fed a bullshit narrative. We're all Americans and need to quit letting the media and Hollywood push us apart, our division is their strength!
If u honestly think about it white and black people ain't that different.
@@excers2581 been saying that
I've always felt a connection between the two since a kid. It's a shame people are often raised to feel different from one other

It certainly is.
Fuck yeah. Well said. Greetings from Louisville KY
Gangstagrass merges two of the genres most deeply rooted in two of the U.S's most consistently disenfranchised peoples. It's really beautiful
Nothing can stop us when we realize that we're on the same side!
Jedidiah Spellum amen brother ✊🏼✊🏿
Yes
Well said.
Two of them? Don't agree with that at all. Black communities are certainly disenfranchised. Most people who listen to Country or Bluegrass are Middle class white people. While there are a select few people in the genre that are lower class or working class, they aren't disenfranchised. Even I teeter on the edge of poverty constantly and live in an area with a dying economy, but I'm not disenfranchised.
Cultures clash like symbols , not like swords . I came for the music , and stayed for the words. Awesome !
Damn Richard... Those words are pure poetry
Dude those words will stick with me amazing!
@@ucantbbsithis thank you

Thank you my brother !!!
I'm upset that this is 3 years old and I am just now seeing it. An absolute banger. Awesome juxtaposition of genres.
hit em with the vocab!
for real bruh
Imagine how I feel even six months later...
Well said!
@@AgentGross LOL
I mostly listen to metal. I like some bluegrass and old country sometimes. Not a lot of rap and hip hop but I still like some. This combination is fucking amazing. Great work. I love it.
Absolutely agree
SAME, Im fully into techdeath and melodeath, but this works fluidly. and like you said some rap is killer good. im not much for pop country but this sounds deeper rooted to me like bluegrass so i like it, they jsut need a washboard, spoons and a triangle lol
Last search I remember was I watching Lemmy... Yet here I am. This is incredible.
Me too
Everything these guys do is awesome.
I will say though - the version of this song on Spotify is REALLY different. It's slower, and it changes the feel of the song.
For me the best part about this is that even though there's two very different elements being mixed, it doesn't sound like a crossover, it just sounds totally natural and organic. Anyone can smash two contrasting things together, but making it sound like one thing is a lot more special.
Well said. It goes so well together. Would have never expected that. Love it!!
Just right
Spot on. Love the harmony.
This hit me hard. I was in prison and can't go home. This song is magic, brilliant, and it let's me know that someone was able to feel me. This is way to real to just be

It's such a moving song. So sorry that it's so close to your situation but glad that it helped bear witness for you.
THIS is what America is about. If only we could all come together like these folk. God sent us these Gangstas to show us unity. Mad love fellas
Amen
What do u mean god sent us all these gangstas??? U mean black folks?
@@Menibor1 superdave was likely referring to the band. The name of the band. *The name of the band.*

One day some genius mixed fuel, heat and oxygen and made fire. Thousands of years later some genius mixed bluegrass and hip hop and made fire. Thank you a thousand times.
Have fun cooking your meal on... bluerap? Rapgrass?
@@nlknok77 their name is pretty damn close to a perfect genre name: gangstagrass
My favorite part about this is different communities coming together and having a ball. Plus it rocks
I get what you mean, but this is also the problem. It shouldn't be a surprise nor taboo. We all human skin color is nothing. For all we know they're from the same community.
This is the short look on a picture the future could be when we stay in love and peace together change you're way of thinking it is a time of change and we a part of its process and we are programming our own thoughts..
Same community here in Alabama. Americans making music !
THIS IS A FREAKING BANGER!!!!!! the country sound is phenomenal and both rappers have that old school boom bap rap voice that mixes so damn well! y'all just got a new fan!
I wanted to hate this as I usually keep my gansta and my grass separate, then I noticed I’m a 47 yr old white guy doing the head bob. I’m digging it
Lol...progress
Same. I'm 37 jamming to it.

*Sounds like when America comes together! Very cool!* 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Are you US born or from another country?
The logic bares, who is tearing us apart....
My moms heart was broken when I went to prison. This song is a reminder to control my self and keep my hands to myself and behave. One mistake is all it takes to lose your whole life. Jail is all good for nobody. Stay the hell off the streets 🙏
That's one of the biggest reasons I got out the street life cause of my momma
Same. Momma told me just tell em where you got the gun. I went away for awhile instead but heard momma cry every night I was gone.
Be good and if you can't be good be good at it 😜
Glad you guys are ok. Moms go through so much. Unless you are one, you most likely will never k ow the pain. God bless
Travis Sutton yes one mistake is all it takes to loose your whole life. We are all human we all make mistakes. Some never learn from them. Wishing you the best.
What people don't realize is that this unity is possible each and every day, its up to us to stop listening to the media, politicians and racists..
We all bleed
We all have had pain
We will all die.

Gangstagrass. I love the name. Two genres you think would NEVER come together. But when they do it works beautifully. Both display the pain and struggles of coming up. Just goes to show that we have more in common than not. Stay strong and God bless anyone reading this.
Two genres that no one would expect to vibe together. GangstaGrass needs to be a bigger thing!
Back at ya!✌️🤘✊️
I expected this to be interesting. I did not however, expect it to be this good. I might have a new favorite genre...
I don't know about *favorite*, but I'm with you otherwise...
This straight jams it's meant to be
Then check out SMO - Colt Ford - Calhoun, and the list goes on...
It's Hick-Hop....!
Instrumentally pleasing and deep lyrics.

How are they not more famous. This is amazing.
I could write an unhinged sounding rant about the entertainment industry if you would like to hear it.
From the Dead South to this, youtube rabbit hole.
Same here!!!!!
Yep.. Traveling on that road xx
"In Hell I'll Be In Good Comany" will start you on a strange trip
I started at Blues Sacaro (I think that's his name at least)
Ha ha. I’m going to have my mail sent here. this place has everything
FINALLY! Someone did the damn math. This is the best thing I've heard...ever. No one's done this that I can think of. Perfect.
Yelawolf, Struggle Jennings and Alexander King have brought a lot of country (and rock) into their rap. And it's awesome. This is a little different with the more real bluegrass and a full band. I sure hope this stuff continues and grows.
Nelly and Tim McGraw
There's a lot of bands out there like this, but it's still a niche genre. There are lots of bands that weave elements of country, rap & hip-hop into their music. Everlast & Kid Rock are two big ones.
th-cam.com/video/QOCOBiCuZnw/w-d-xo.html listen to this, it's even better than Gangstagrass. & another big time artist that's done this is Rehab.
Wait till you all get judged by the real judge and then you'll see the real math
No need to justify or explain why this hits. Down to the soul, it'll move you. 🔥
The woman’s voice has great depth
You a trucker?
@@LEWIS_sanders_9 nope... just a love of good music. 👍
Justified*
Unexplainable yet undeniable
"You may return to the place
where the people used to know you,
but you can never go home again"
Holy shit. THAT is how you write lyrics. The feels!
Thank you so much! Glad you like it.
@@danjo515 Forgive my ignorance, but are you a member of Gangstagrass; and did you write the lyrics?
@@djinnandjews1430 yes to both!
Well, MUCH respect. I love what you're doing here. I first heard of Gangstagrass by way of Justified and have enjoyed a lot more of your music since looking it up on TH-cam. This is unquestionably my favorite of your songs, especially because the lyrics are just immense and raw, and I love how they address not only institutionalization, but also how incarceration traumatizes families. Even impending release can have catastrophic consequences.
I've thought a lot about these sorts of issues but was stunned by how simple and poignant you were in distilling a judge's mechanical delivery of a draconian sentence into "You can never go home again." Jesus, that's deep--and how many people receive that exact same sentence in this country every single day, while most of us never connect the dots?
Why am I just now seeing this pure magic!!!
I was today years old when I realized my favorite genre was bluegrass rap. You all absolutely killed it, this is amazing!
Southeast Tennessee born and raised!! Keep killing it fellas!! Got the mountains vote!!
Im a 55 year old english white woman been through every genre since my teens punk, ska, rockabilly, new wave, new romantic, acid house, hard house , trance , deep chicago house,, rap, hip hop, electro, all good, loved them all but i dont' think i have ever been so moved by something as this perfect blending of the wounded white and black masculine energies. just brilliant and I want MORE.
Beautifully worded that's the same I was thinking. 💯
Beautifully stated , this song does have a unique power and simple truth to it.
10 seconds in and this is my new favorite genre
I'm with you on that!
I love when worlds collide. We are all sharing the planet, sharing experiences, and if you’re lucky like me, sharing Love and Life with ALL people. This is Dope on sooo many levels! Thank you💞

Omg this is everything!!! Why has this been out 5 years and I am just now hearing it! Amazing!! Inspired!!!!
When street gangs and hillbilly moonshiners sit down to talk, and they realize they have a lot in common
That's exactly what the system controllers fear the most
@Sam H similar financial situations, being from the deep south there's a lot of poverty. similar to where gang members come from.
Poverty, violence, run-ins with the law, just wanting to live free, family, and heartbreak... We ain't different at all. It's the media and politics that want you to think that. Divide and conquer and all that.
Oh for fuck's sake...
I was making the point that N.W.A. and Steve Earle are singing about the exact same things - and this band represents those two worlds coming together.
I guess you're too woke to read. The name of the band is "Gangstagrass"
@@rom65536 hahaha Sam's the type of person to get offended by a caucasian with dreadlocks and praise a jamaican woman in a suit and tie slaving away at some tech company for her "bravery". That ain't bravery, that's slavery 🤣
From a history of bluegrass musicians and a mac dre, wutang, ugk, zro and Houston rap fan, this slaps.
Grew up in the woods here in the south my dad always listened to country and bluegrass I listened to rock and heavy metal also gravitated to some rap and reaggae.. but this has to be some of the most creative music of two genres combined I've ever heard!!
16 years old is when this realization hit me.
Locked up for a year with 2 more to go.
Never to live at home again.
Never to feel the warmth of safety again.

This song reminds me of my son. He got 20 years 4 years ago. I feel like his momma cause I was so happy that he was home and now he's locked up again. Bless his heart. I pray I'm still alive when he gets out so he'll have a home to come home to. Cause he'll always have a home to come to as long as I'm alive.

Love the vocals, love the rapping
They put the 2 genres together to excellance.
Country and rap both started as artistic ways to bring to light pain and struggles within communities brought forth by injustices, whether they be economical, racial, or society as a whole.
This is not just making them mix, this is honouring struggles that citizens have against the ruling class.
these people are straight up doing the lords work right here. combining different musical genres, people, minds, & hearts alike. anything that helps people to see that in reality, all of us... no matter where we come from, our current financial situation, wether or not english is our 1st language, or what color our skin happens to be....WE ALL SHARE ALOT MORE SIMILARITIES THAN WE HAVE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN US. this world desperately needs unity & music is the key. it brings people together. its our best hope for the future of humanity. 🎵🎼🎶🎻🎹🎸🎧🎤🎺🎷 good song too btw. beautiful. love it.
