I just got back into skating again (after being absent for a Decade+) I also picked up Herion Skateboard (AVI Guest), egg shape. It’s hands down been my favorite shape I have ever skated.
Im starting to consider the move to eggs too! Would need something smaller than the ones you’re riding cause my feet is size 8 and I’m used to ride decks 8 as well. Probably something around 8.5…9 max
I have one egg shaped 9" board but have yet to ride it. It's going to be an interesting experience regardless. But the comfort levels of bigger boards cannot be understated.
No this one isn't, the nose is definitely longer than the tail! In this video I was still on the 8.5" trucks with 3x washers behind each wheel but I have recently sized up to a 9.125" truck for this board. I'll explain all of that in my video dropping this week 👌🏼
hey man, love your vids! was wondering what type of wheels you are riding in this video? I have the mini egg deck from heroin and am debating on whether i should get conical fulls or tablets. got any suggestions?
Thanks dude, appreciate that! I've got 54mm Spitfire Tablets in this video 👌🏼 I prefer the Conicals or Radials over the Tablets but I haven't tried the Conical Fulls yet 🤔
I've skated the Anti Hero Huffer and a couple of the Santa Cruz 9.25" shaped boards too and they are sick! I just like that the egg boards skate similar to the popsicle boards but feel more comfortable 👌🏼
I have to agree that the egg shape is superior when it comes to bigger boards. I was riding an 8.75 popsicle and found it comfortable but hard for rotational tricks like 360 flips, varial heels, big spins etc. The Black Label Spider Egg shape got me hooked. I’ve had 5 of them in a row now. The spider egg is essentially the same as their standard egg shape (9.0) but the nose and tail are more square. There’s something about it that just feels incredible. Like you mentioned, because of the taper that eggs have, the rotational tricks are much easier than on a big popsicle. I’m riding stage 4 151’s on the spider egg with 55 spitfire classics and it just feels very nimble for a larger setup. Much easier to deal with than the 8.75 popsicle. If you haven’t checked out the black label stuff, they have a lot of cool shapes and they make them consistently so you can always get them.
Yeah dude, the shape and dimensions just make them so skateable for the wider width that they come in 🙌🏼 Damn that setup sounds sick! I've got my eye on a few eggs from Black Label and Welcome actually, I'm just trying not to go crazy and buy a bunch of different boards each week 😅
@@LeonPaxton haha! I’m with you there. Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the madness and just try a bunch of stuff. Definitely goin though that with wheels right now, but it is fun and money well spent imo. It’s just fun to experiment and see how things change for sure.
I need to get used to my Polar Football. Flips and transition are okay. But I lost precision on grinds. The tail feels too pointy for me. I pop my tricks at the end of the tail. Maybe I need to change my way to pop into grinds.
Your deck is 9.4 in the middle but when you look down over either side of your trucks it’s much smaller. I tried one and I didn’t like how it tapers..kinda looked like a banana. Feel like people either love them to death or hate them lol. Good skating as always
Sorry if already asked and answered, but how tall are you, weight, shoe size. Your preference for massive boards seems wild to me, but perhaps it’s proportional?
@@LeonPaxton oh! so I am probably riding a board too small for me. I'm 110kg, 6 ft and us size 11. Boards have seemed small since I got back into skating after 20 years off (I have a 8.25)

Dude, that is the best board! I would definitely stick with the 56mm wheels dude, you don't want your set up to be tooooo heavy. That's why I stick to around 54mm 👌🏼
80s style skateboards are the best. They have the cruising ability of longboards with the best " pop" for ollies. Plus they have the coolest deck designs. The Dragon Peralta/ Caballero deck design is epic.
I just got back into skateboarding not too long ago!I’ve been on a board buying binge for the past few weeks.i seen that bigger boards are offered now so I tried an April 8.75 and 151 thunder team hollows.i liked it but the shape was lacking luster for me compared to my twin tail go69 shaped girl.i seen the egg shapes and disregarded them without even watching videos.i finally watched a setup of the 9.5 heroin razor egg that lazy skater uploaded and i I thought the graphic was sick!that led me to your channel.I’m pretty much sold im probably going to order a couple tomorrow when I get paid lol

Heroin make some 8.c8" eggs but that might be a bit too small for what you are looking for 👎🏽 I don't think I've actually come across an 8.5" egg board 🤔
I’ve skated some 8.6” egg shapes from toy machine. The thing to keep in mind is that eggs normally skate like they’re smaller. A 9” eggs is usually 8.5” at the trucks, so and 8.5” egg would feel more like a 8”.
could someone explain egg shape widths? I'm thinking about trying one but don't know what size I should buy. atm i'm skating a 8.38" board. The thing I'm confused about is that egg shapes taper and is the "9 inch" size in the middle where it is widest, or is the size measured in the bolt region where you could, in theory, better tell what trucks to pair with the board.
Yeah dude, it does get pretty confusing but I'll try and explain it in my next video 👍🏽 Basically you will be comfortable with an egg board that's 1/4"-1/2" wider than your popsicle board size and you want to get trucks that are within a 1/4" of the width of your deck BUT the width over the trucks is smaller than the width of the middle since it tapers towards the kicks so you need to find out or measure how wide the board is at the trucks and get trucks that are within a 1/4" of that measurement 👌🏼 Hopefully that makes sense lol
dont blame ya. i was never accepting of these popsicle decks. i used to call them large freestyle decks hahah. its all about that old school width for me. always was has been always will be.
kids, heroin gets you addicted jokes aside, I have a similar dilemma, getting twin tails in Australia, feels like there are only 3 models my size and I need to hoard them just in case.
I’m 30 I ain’t tryna be no pro skater or even care to kill myself to learn new stuff when I’m on a egg board looking down at my board reminds me that it’s not that serious and I haven’t had as much fun on a popsicle since I started skating egg boards 🗿🥚
I’m with you man. A popsicle looks foreign to me now. Absolutely love the 9.5 symmetrical razor edge.
Yeah dude same!
I've actually just got 2 new 9.5" razor eggs so I'm ready to ride those ones now lol
I'm riding the 9.5 razer edge Eric dressing Herion board!! never going back too popsicles either.

Thank you
