I took a break from skating and late time I went from an 8 to a 8.25 and I skated way too good but I had a lot of things come up and I started messing around with an old chocolate board 8.25 and was trying to learn why I couldn’t ever fully get down hard flips I can’t do them regular only switch but anyway the 8.25 feels small af and my friend let me try his 8.5 and it’s easy to do hard flips with it the flick goes perfect and give me time to jump so I ordered a 8.38 and an 8.5 from element so I can progressively go up without going to much.
I get it. I recently stopped skating popsicles. All shaped boards 8.75 and more. Love boards like this. You are going to love it. That's a good slappy and transition size. @@iamlazyskater yeah, plus old schools back in style, so there has to be a reason, maybe people are getting tired with default popsicles, and want to have some proper fun
Yeah it’s really funny how it’s come around again. I’m stoked because there is so much more deck choice now!
@@iamlazyskater yeah, bigger boards = bigger canvas to work with
149 hollows would be sick match for that
If money was no object they’d be ordered 😂 wouldn’t mind maybe trying some ace trucks as well
ACE AF1’s or AF1 Hollows are not the lightest trucks but they are the best feeling trucks I think. And they look sick as well!
Very tempted to give them a try yeah!
Sweet bro
Thanks for dropping in 🙌
@@iamlazyskater all good bro
I got Andersons 9.3 flight deck.
Feels solid underfoot.
Especially on ramps
Guy I skate with has got one and I've tried it. Its a bit strange to just hop straight on but I can imagine it feeling really nice once you get used to it!
yeah dont like brown stain decks too lol. seems pretty plain for something I want to be inspired to skate
very beautiful shape ❤ is pure man style. The dynamics when skating are sure different, right?
Yup it really makes you approach things differently when you skate a shaped deck which is refreshing!
What mic are you using? Sounds good.
It’s a rode wireless go. I had to do a lot of work when editing to get it to sound better though
@@iamlazyskater Thanks, Bro. I scope it out. Are you an Apple user? IMovie? If not what do you edit with?
Davinchi resolve but I record my audio into Ableton first and use plugins there to sort out echo, voice clicking etc
@@iamlazyskater Wow... That's labor intensive. Worth it though. The audio sounds good. The content is also good!!
It is a bit but it doesn’t take too long! Thanks I appreciate that 🙏
Indy 169 would fit so good and nice deck
When I’ve got some more funds I’ll definitely invest 🤘
no cos its not 9.25 where the trucks are, 9.25 is the widest point, you have t watch this with shaped decks, there narrow at the back,i would say he needs 149,s
@@batcheeboy5077 I'm with you on that one. the 144s are definitely too small but they are really not far off being wide enough where the trucks actually are 👍
I think the Heroin egg shapes are the ones guys are using now for that pesky, mid-life skater crisis. Seems to be working....
😁 they have some nice shapes and the price of them is good too. Dead dave inspired me to go bigger again. I was tempted to get his pro model but decided on something a little smaller in the end
A mid life skater crisis is lile at 17
What wheels are they buddy ?
Yo man they are basically very worn down Spitfire formula four full conical. They are the Andy Allen signature model. skateparkoftampa.com/-spitfire-andrew-allen-double-a-f4-99a-conical-full-wheels-black-82340-5
Schweet shape and SIK tricks ...especially them most bitchin' Bertz!
🙌🙌🙌
what wheels are you riding?
Andy Allen formula 4s
@@iamlazyskater what shape are they
Conical full
From DC metro area....nice deck and shape....
Nice man! Greetings from across the pond
2 setups or find smaller wb wide deck but you are going to make flip tricks harder than on your popsicle.
I’m happy with this. I’ve already been flipping it and it feels great
Flip tricks are boring spectator tricks anyway. Love fish tail decks, they feel great at a park on transition.
Popsicles are dull and boring. I skate old school Powell Mike Vs .
That’s how I feel at the moment. A shaped deck really brings out my creative side for some reason. I love it already!
I got a ten inch deck to brew
Bigger is better!
oh yes! 😁🙌
You need to be skating 159s or 169s for a board that wide.
Yeah I know. I can’t afford to get a new set at the moment so my 149s will have to do for now! Still had fun even with the 144s though
Crisis? Not really, just do what you want.
How to make an 8.25 look smol
lol absolutely. It made me wonder how I was skating it!
I've only had popsicles all my life and I'm almost 37. I want to try something like that and I love cool graphics like that. I'm trusting in nothing but the blood of Jesus to pay for my sins to keep me out of hell. Just like accepting a plea bargain in court.
❤ lujo
but who makes trucks? is my issue...
Not sure what you mean. Do you mean on my deck specifically? I skate indies
@@iamlazyskater They're just harder and harder to find at the large sizes i mean... and I want a set to grind curbs but I think Tensor Mag Lights only go up to 5.75. Spoiled - I kno...
Ah ok! Ace or Independent both do wider trucks. They are the only two companies I would use to be honest
@@iamlazyskater i get that - I'll probably get titaniums or hollow - but yes - indys are heavy tho - I love them - but man they are heavy
Dang 144s on that. I’d def go with some 169 Indy’s. Or 159s. I just got some stage 4 Indy’s 151s and they rule! Skated them for the first time yesterday. Been skating since 94. Trying to get back into skating. It just sucks not being able to do all the stuff you used to do 20 years ago. I used to feeble and smith grind on rails and I’m terrified to do it on a flat rail now😂 😢 I’ll keep trying.
Fullerton Skatepark Local.
Yeah they’re too small really but don’t have the money for new trucks just now. I’ve got some 149s I could try but I would like to keep the weight down as much as I can! I’m going to see how I get on with these but I would like to go wider at some point. Maybe try some ace trucks
@@iamlazyskater if weight is ur thing get some bones hardcore bushings (I use mediums 10$). On my forged hollow 149 independent trucks replacing stock bushings with bones hardcore shaves off around a half oz of weight per truck (13.6 grams to be exact). And since I don’t use risers myself 7/8 hardware. I hate seeing long hardware poking up my trucks. If you use bones bushings don’t tighten up too much leave em a little loose, ride around the park for 10 minutes then slowly tighten up little by little.
