The trick I've discovered with those panel buffers is to put them on backwards, so with the thinner side facing you, then spin them round once they're in place. The thinner rubber goes round that bend much easier. They go straight on!
Bought you a coffee so you can buy some Whiskey 👍I used your video when I fitted my Jockeys light and ended up doing what you do in removing the wiring block. I had a thought today, I think it would have worked I’d I had just turned the block around, it would have freed up just enough space for the light to fit I reckon. I do wonder sometimes what the Americans make of “bugger” etc 😂😂
Another handy hint, after the bovver you went through fitting the panel buffer. Maybe it would be easier if you used some silicone grease, as this won't rot the rubber parts as petroleum based products will.

Tip with the panel buffers- push on with the thicker part facing down. Once past the bend spin them around 👍

When we used to fit rubber parts in the bike shop I worked we used hair spray, worked better than wd40 and dried quicker acting as well like a glue.
Works great on grips!

I've never had a problem with wd40. 🤷♂️ It's the only place I use it too.
No wonder they switched to clip on buffers!
