Cuphead: Unused Die House Anti-Piracy Measure (APD_1)

- A while ago, I purchased a used USB drive. In it, I found the mother-load of unused source code from Cuphead, from images, music, to even stuff found in the 2013 build of the game! This is the most interesting one, considering that was once a rumor, actually was true all along. Don't worry, this is the only thing that was remotely eerie in what I found. Everything else is tame.

Even though the devs confirmed Cuphead doesn’t have any anti piracy, this is a really neat take on the rumor and the loud sound actually did kind of startle me. Well done!

@@DaggerMan-ov1vf it was prob fake, a reddit post talked about the anti piracy measures as "ticking noise getting faster, eventually stopping and then jumpscaring you and deleting your save"

this measure is actually both very creative and smart. Startles the absolute shit out of the pirate, and it's foolproof. I'm pretty sure after this it would have kept you stuck on the title screen forever, deleted all your save files, and put some eerie music in replacement of the original title screen music, but those are just some allegations made by a guy on reddit. It really is such a shame that the devs of the game didn't put this measure in the game.

@@LauranicMadness that statement makes sense. Because what if it triggered by accident? Some young kid playing with his dad could get the jump scare even though they got the real version. That could give the kid nightmares simply from a mistake. So a simple ban screen could be the best option.
The people who say cuphead isn’t a horror game are the people who haven’t played it

Good ending:if you press the pause 20 times, you can save Cuphead from the Die House, after that, you'll be send to the title screen, but Cuphead says to you get an original game, you cant join the game till you delete him and purchase the original game.
This true why, anti piracy is scary but the creators who made the franchises what to protect it from stolen for nothing.

So heres my full reaction to this:
It starts off normal, like any other ap screen, but then the song gets slower, which scares me a bit
The ticking starts which I like, but I don't really think the red screen gets brighter after. Other than that, is really good! I know this isn't real but this is a great take on it. The Jumpscare scares the hell outta me! And the creepiest part is the reverse slower into but even slower with a black and white screen, with nothing but the title and the background.
Overall, really well made!

I think I have a theory for the purpose of the ticking…
It’s actually a bomb king dice setup in the building.
