      That ball and seat didn't do much for me, but the rest of those bushings made a big difference. It was good to just take it all out, and do it. I almost have everything for my turbo build.

    I have an 02 rsx type s. I drive hard an my shifter had gotten loose. An one day I went from 4th to 5th at like 3500rpm. An it went really far up into 5th an now it just stays in 5th. Bushings an linkage or a clutch fork jammed under bearing? Any advice would help me diagnose an fix my high school dream car

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Remove linkage at transmission, and see if you can shift it. That's what I would do. Then you can determine if it is your shifter, or transmission.

      It's slow. I got it from someone who drove it here from Oregon, and then spit a rod bearing. It's an unmolested rust free 220,000 mile dumpster, that has not been in a major accident, and everything works. Good little hobby car to build on.

    • @BarnStangz
      @BarnStangz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure man! I wish I never got rid of my 1994. These cars are so hard to find rust free. There is a 2004 that is from an old lady down the street from my old man that I would buy, but it's an auto car. I feel like after 2005 Civic's started going down hill. The 1999 SI was probably my favorite.

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BarnStangz 1999 was the last year of double wishbone suspension. After that they are all McPherson strut. Those are not as good. Now that I have koni/gc suspension, and an lsd, this car feels like it handles better than my 2010 Si. Si has traction control though. That helps. It keeps you from over throttling, and uses whatever brakes it feels like when you overseer. It cheats.
