@@bigherm70068 serpentine isn't jade. Jade is either jadeite jade or nephrite jade. Serpentine isn't as hard as jade, it has a hardness of 3 to 6. Real jade is 6.5-7.
Cheer~~~~a green, blue, or white mineral which is one of the forms of jade. It is a silicate of sodium, aluminum, and iron and belongs to the pyroxene group.😊
Hellooo...again 😏 Great video and watched it twice ..made a little game the second time to count the number of times you said the word Jade...hihi .. 33 times..so now i believe your favorite word must be Jade ..😅😉👍👍 All in good humor...of course Watching from 🇨🇦
Hi , Fabrizio , I am from Myanmar and l have some knowledge about jade especially rough jadeite stones, I would like to meet you again in myanmar to discuss about jade.l am very interested in it.
Hi, Fabrizio. I was wondering whether you had the opportunity to see any examples of our NZ Nephrite jade (pounamu) the last time you were here prospecting for gold? The jade markets appear to be very popular in China and some of the finished product were really well carved. Thanks for sharing 👍
Hello Saint, unfortunately I have not seen any of the famous Pounamu in NZ, but would be cool to find a piece while walking on some river. I have heard that it is protected by a law, and only the Maori can pick it up?
@Goldendives That's the general law, however, some areas are open for public fossicking in the South Island, and as far as I know, pebble-sized pieces are ok to possess. If you're lucky enough, you might even be gifted some raw greenstone by a legitimate dealer. This is a generalised statement only.
It would be cool to go to one of those shops, but I just wouldn't trust anybody. If you didn't know what you were doing with Jade, you could get ripped off so easily. It kind of sucks because I would love to buy something from there but, you better take somebody with you that knows that place inside and out and who won't rip you off.
I wonder how many of those cabachons in the jade mall are molded glass. The shiny black carved stuff looks like molded glass. We have people selling molded glass at local flea markets. They are 100% certain it's jade, but it isn't.
Canadian jade is nephrite jade. A calcium magnesium silicate. Burmese jade is jadeite, an aluminium silicate. They are very different but both regarded as jade. Jadeite is rarer and therefore more expensive than nephrite, which is relatively common. Personally i prefer nephrite
the stuff you said is "black jade that becomes green" is black serpentine most likely from Indonesia, specific gravity around 2.7.
It's jade
@@bigherm70068no its not. jade doesnt change color. both jadeite and nephrite dont have color changing abilities and never have

Hi Fabrizio, i was wandering is it accurate to measure Jadaite jade using weight scale to measure its spesific gravity/density?
Great video! Very informative

What do they do with the "lost bet" stones? The city must survive on tourists buying the jewelry
50,000 for that ring is the Saudi prince price. I bet which ever ring you ask about is the 50,000 ring. lol.
Fabrizio, may I know which part of China is this jadeite city located ? Thks
Jade is cheaper in Canada !

Where is this town?
Ruili is a county-level city of Dehong Prefecture, in the west of Yunnan province, China.
in myanmar but only see chinese :))
most of the end consumer is chinese that's why.
How to tell if jade is fake with light? I can’t tell the difference 😅
Specific gravity is easy to verify.
Weight in air ÷ ( weight in air - weight in water)
Hi, I messaged you on Patreon, I'm really interested in getting some gambling stones!!!
