@@stevet5790 I don't care if he's buying unicorns. Nobody will sell you anything from a successful business at a loss. Did you notice how much money he lost? If there was good money to be made, they would be cutting their own stones themselves.
@@@MasterKenfucius They actually do cut their own stones while they sell the garbage to novice gamblers. You may notice, that those small polished windows show usually the very best spots of the whole stone. It's no coincidence. The outer rim don't hide the inner part from the eyes of an experienced person as completely as people may think. And cracks can be seen from outside even more easily because these are not limited to the inner parts. They look at the stones, keep and cut the best and try to let the garbage and mediocre ones look better than they actually are by polishing only the very best areas in seemingly random windows. No one actually sells unsearched stones or lots of anything with potential very high value without having a look first. By the way, even the cut stuff shown on this market looks completely crap and low grade. The polished gems are maybe reaching mediocre.. barely. The good stuff goes to the buyers and then directly to china and elsewhere.
I strongly advise everybody to first study about jade and jadeite, learn to identify them. You need years and years of experience to learn to identify jade, it's a unique stone and like from other minerals there are so many gradations of color determined by temperature and the minerals in which jade mix. Many of the stones these young men cut where jade, it doesn't mean their not worth anything, even those unpopular tonalities well designed and polished have certain value. You have to understand that emperial jade is a super rare occurance, the conditions have to be almost perfect, really high temperatures and the right amount of chromium that will give that emerald green look to jadeite. So, if you just started learning jade keep learning! don't waste your money just gambling for the sake of it, I don't say it is exciting but pretty much it's like buying lottery tickets trying to get the the big prize! the posibilities you find emperial jadeite in stones in Myanmar at the market are like 0.03 percent. Have a good day every one! keep learning about jade! one of the most mystic stones out there!
So true, as it is with anything about the gem trade. I love Jade, but I would not go to Burma and expect to find any high-quality Jade. Perhaps, after spending a year there, watching and learning I would try my hand in that business.
Make some sets out of those rocks! Earrings, necklace, and rings. People still like real stones! Even if they are not jems!!! I now several people who do that with the local stones in their area and sell lots of them! Because they are real and not plastic junk! Just a thought my friend. And thanks for taking the time to share your adventure.
Just in case people don't know about it. your stones wasn't that bad, they can be sold to jewellery store to make something out. One thing that has to be pointed out, imperial jade is extremely rare but it doesnt mean other kind of jade doesnt wonth a penny. Dont buy the 100% uncut stone, just imagine if you were the quarry owner, would you not to cut a little window to peek a little? Also, people mentioned about using x-ray or weighting it with water, that wont work. Unless your rough stone is only enclosed by a mm thin layer of rubbish rock, otherwise it wont make a noticeable difference. Usually when the rock is being mined from the quarry, they will serperate those rock into different grade and sell them. How? they make "window". And why those rock are uncut when you buy it? simply because those rock are not from the main mining cluster. Those rocks are purchase in tons by the marchants, so the mine owner can keep digging their big prize from their mine.
Since I was a really tiny child, I've ALWAYS been able to tell precious metals and gemstones. When I worked selling antique jewelry, my bosses and coworkers would try to stump me, but they never could, even passing something quickly before my eyes. I couldn't teach it to others, or explain it. I liken it to perfect pitch in music. You either have it or you don't.
Use water displacement method for mass and weigh it and you can make an educated guess if its jade or stone. Sure they wouldn't let you, but they probably did already.
U must visit into East Jakarta Gems Market in Indonesia for hunting a good Jadite, u can see inside (check) first. To count the logical price for that jadite rough before u deal to buy. Many many colours variants and high quality jadite or other gems rough sale there.

hi, this is not that way gambling stone. actually the secind piece with light green can make some pendant. and the white dotted stone im not too sure, but it might be "snow jade". very high value.
Once you study/learn about nephrite or jadeite, you can tell from the outside and the weigh of the stone. You just can’t tell the quality of the jade inside but you should have idea whether it’s jade or not jade.
Great video! So, what are you looking for? Should the stone be translucent inside, but what you got was completely opaque? What detetmines the quality?
I am looking for rocks, primarily jadeite. During my travels to Africa, I often visited this area, just as a tourist. I found that this rock has a strong tendency to hold water. The same goes for the large amount of water that the rock will carry. The water is only carried by the surface, not by the veins. I have also found this rock to be very hard to put down. At the local water supply, I can find and remove the jadeite rock by hand. After doing this, I can also use the water bottle that I hold to drain the lake and use water from a reservoir to help remove the water. The water that I use can also be brought to a nearby pond which I use to clear the dirt. After having used most of the water in Africa, I have also discovered some water that can help add to the water volume and keep it from overflowing. The only downside to this rock of mine is that I don't have a way to dig out the jadeite. But here in Florida we have a wonderful river but the rock itself is very heavy, so be careful with that. Once you get across with the rock and pull about half way through, you will almost certainly find it. Once you are done finding it, I recommend that you do not worry about paying any additional fees for finding it. If there are people nearby who are actually interested in your rock, don't worry.
in our country ponumu feels soapy when wet and jade is a younger nephrite version of ponumu so how we find it we feel the surface of the stone when wet if it feels like a soapy texture your on green gold

Very nice but you had "white" or I think it's called "snow" jade which is very, very rare but all the stones you bought were very lovely even if it wasn't premium jade. Thanks for sharing.
I think snow jade has different meanings around the world but in my country (NZ) it's solid green with white spots through it resembling snow flakes. Very rare and illegal to own.

Hi! to learn to identify jade there is a set of characteristics that helps you diffirenciate them from just common river rocks like: 1.Heaviness; jade is very heavy compared with common rocks. 2. It is Hard; you can't cut it with a regular cutting machine, the disk need to have diamond dust to cut it since jade and jadeite are in average 7 in hardness in the Mohs scale. 3. Characteristic glassy sound when hit; when you collide two jade stones or even when you hit a jade stone with a hamer it has a glassy sound, this is a common way that people in Myanmar look for jade when the surface of rock suffered erosion. 4. When broken or cut, usually jade has a sprarkling effect that you can see in the sunlight. I could go on and on! there are so may characteristics but it takes years to understand them because only through experience you'll learn. Have a nive day!
Most of those stones were not even jade. There is no point in buying any random rock hoping it will be jade. You have to identify what kind of mineral it is first with hardness, specific gravity, and other tests. Why even here in California we have people selling serpentine, jasper, and other stones as jade. The seller doesn't know the difference.
Hi! the king of colors would be Emperial green jade, it resembles Emeralds. Green is the most popular color and after that it would be lavender jade which is violet, than very rare but popular in some countries like Japan, blue jadeite, and then the less popular color would be black, gray and white color, even thoung white is the purest jade form!!! But in general I would say in atractive color is considered a good color. Good day!
I don’t suggest to buy this kind for rock without that kind of knowledge,I have played it for 2years,it just like gambling and you only can use a flashlight to see and judge that is it have jade or not, usually we will see the sand of the rock, if it’s sand so close,it’s quality will be better.
To people in the comments, this isnt just "foolin a gullable foreigner". Thousands and thousands of chinese people flock to buy "gamble stones" of jadeite on markets in Ruilin etc. It's a common practice to buy, for the off-chance that it might be a gorgeous perfect piece once cut, that makes you a few million bucks overnight. Of course, perfect pieces are rare (like any gemstone), so its a gamble where the odds are against you. But thats what everyone already knows, they take the chance willingly. The sellers knows that they might be selling a perfect 10 million yuan piece of jadeite for 1000 bucks, but thats a risk they take, to get immediate profit from an unknown rock. Likewise the buyers know full well that they might be paying 1000 bucks for a useless piece of cracked ugly trash, but they do it because they think there's at least a chance it could be a perfect piece inside.
Nice video, but have you ever found real good quality jade in those gamble rocks? I mean real money ! It just doesn't make sense why they would sell a rock for 30 odd USD with the possibility of it being full with high or even decent quality jade worth thousands ? keep at it though and good luck. Maybe one day you will strike it lucky and put all the haters with negative comments left with nothing to say except they we're wrong.

you do know there is a special oil these guys have that determines if it's jade or not? Jade doesn't float rocks do. It's very expensive oil but looks like they can pay for it easy by selling rocks to tourists.
Battery dreimel > grind the stone a bit on the side. Looks like ur getting scammed. I wouldn't doubt if they have already done this and covered the spot with resin.
