Lyrics:
Well we're all wasted in a bar somewhere downtown
When I man walks up and pokes me with a knife and says
"Man, I'm gonna send you to hell."
Well I took that knife, I stared him straight in the eyes
I said, "Oh, boy you better fuckin' run
I've been sittin' here just a-slammin' down beers
And now its time to have some fun"
Oh
Oh well he hit me hard, yeah he hit me good
And then I fell to the ground
But I kicked him fast, I kicked him real swift
And he came a tumblin' down
He took a stab at me and nearly cut my gut
But I kicked that knife to the floor
Then I took his head and slammed it into the bar
I don't think he'll come around no more
Oh
Well I've been drinkin' here for so many damn years
Tryin' to recap my life
Every night trouble finds my sight and I can't help but fight
With a bottle of Jack and a tin of skoal
I'll be stickin' around
Until the day a man will put me away and...
I can rest my soul
Well we're all wasted in a bar
Somewhere downtown
When a man walks up and pokes me with a knife and says
"Man, I'm gonna send you to hell."
Well I took that knife, I stared him straight in the eyes
I said "Oh boy this is the day."
Then I took that knife and stabbed it straight through my eye
And then I fell to my knees
Oh
Well I've been drinkin' here for so many damn years
Tryin' to recap my life
Every night trouble finds my sight and I can't help but fight
With a bottle of Jack and a tin of skoal
I'll be stickin' around
Until the day a man will put me away and...
I can rest my soul - เพลง
I think we all discovered them by accident, and that's part of their charm. It's called serendipity.
👍 agreed
I stumbled onto them here & clicked on a video bc l liked their look ~ what's funny is they sound a lot like I'd imagined and I'm not disappointed lol
I do wish they had a little more bass solo🙂
Truth
Agree! Speaks to my soul! Luv u guys

These guys are awesome. They’ve been around for a minute. U stumbled upon greatness!!!!
they live rent free in my head, like my own personal playlist in my brain. its great
Who is a metal head but loves these guys?
I know I am!
I must say they are really grate...

I really like stoner rock. John Garcia, Kyuss, truckfighters, 1000 mods and such
They know how to roll that jam grass
The song made me grow a whiskey and drink a beard.. 😂
My son playing banjo with these guys. Awesome video.
damn hope they tour ontario love to hear them live, great stuff

canadian band under a deutch label that is strange but they are awesome

Craig Crawford well a damn fine job for him!
Congrats to him, he really has talent.
Take it in guys. Groups like this are unicorns.
This really is what music should be. Not the crap that passes for music these days... Keep it up guys!
I just adore the singer's gritty voice! And the mandolin player's voice balances it so perfectly! Wonderful complement to each other!
I am sharing this with everybody I know. This is the shit we didn't know we were missing.
now i want a beer, sit and do absolutely nothing for a long time while listening to more songs by them
Dre Hansen-Chiso doin that rn ill have one for ya !

And that's the power of beautiful music my brother
ikr. i found this band recently and i am in love
Absolutely. My best friend turned me on to these guys less than a week ago and i can't get anything done, because all i wanna do is sit & watch and listen to them. I AM IN LOVE!!! Especially with Danny (cello), Scott (mandolin), and Nate (lead guitar).
i discovered these guys by accident and so glad I did!!! Love them!!
So did I. Their music makes me happy! Is there anything else you need!?
So did I. Completely random youtube suggestion hahahahaha

7 Years of listening and have not been disappointed once. If I had the power, I would nominate them for a living legend award.
" True artists aren't recognized until they're gone .. " -- But you're already Dead, right ??
Completely superb. I love this band.
Love it when Danny integrates some of his classical training into it. The band is great as it is but that just puts in yet another layer of brilliance into it.
Is he the French one?
@@gelraldoldo5152 He is the cellist.
Found these guys by accident and now love them. Keep em coming 👍👍👍👍
I'm not a man of faith, but sometimes i believe the universe is a living force itself. One day, i thought "man, i wanna hear that badass old west kinda music", then i searched for "hillbilly music", even tho i didn't exactly know what "hillbilly" means, and then found these guys. The universe has an amazing way of bringing things together.
These guys are consistently amazing. Just love their tempo changes--always for great dramatic effect. Music so good you feel it in your bones.
"Ive been drinking heavy so many damn years, trying to recap my life. Every night Jehovah finds my side and I can't help but fight." those are amazing lyrics!
I'm a huge Johnny Cash fan, been one for a few years now. Discovered these guys randomly on a bluegrass Playlist just yesterday, and already my favorite band. Love this kind of music.
Hi have you heard paul cauthen music I think you would enjoy it sounds alot like Johnny Cash and mix of elvis
@@paulacarr2684I haven't, but I'll have to check em out
This is the first music video I have seen where everyone in the comments are getting along! Not a single person talking shit to another. It's awesome!

@Donkey Punch Knock-Out right after u fuk ur own.
You just HAD to go invitin' that ^ trouble in... Didn'tchya?
Welcome to Canada!
It's 4:15am on a Sunday morning right now and I want to crack a cold one and listen to these guys all day!!!
Bought this album. I don't even listen to this type of music and I've only bought maybe 5 cds in the past 3 years. I listen to metal but for whatever reason I REALLY like these guys. Awesome stuff!
This is fuckin great. I hate that alot of people don't like country music because they think it's about trucks, blondes, guns and whiskey. Try listening to dark country I'm sure you'll like it
@@yahyanamrouqa9868 I actually love trucks, guns, and whiskey, and my wife is a hot blonde lol

I know me too... I'm Motown down to Rock! Try listening to TheTeskey brothers... they are wonderful!
I'm glad I'm not the only metal head to stumble ass backwards into these guys and love it
The way Nate looks into the camera and says "Oh, boy you better fuckin' run.." kills me every time
That guy on the cello is very intriguing, never seen it played that way before. I love it !
Kaila Dwinell he's hot too ._.
I mean, he's plucking it like you would a bass guitar.
it's a stand up bass
No, it's a cello.

This is not my kind of music.

God damn. Great shit.
The music itself, the lyrics, and damn, that voice is amazing for the type of music this is, it couldn't be more perfect.
Just amazing.
I'm a metalhead but these Canadians kick ass...go figure!
@@kristophermathis8584 you and me both buddy.
Death metal american metal european metal. These boys are as metal as can be without actually doing metal music. Absolutely fabulous.
Also a metalhead. I really dig these guys. Such a great sound and stories they tell.
The Dead South is a metal band doing folk music, 100%. I can hear so many simularities between them and system of a down. The overlapping vocalists at the end of this song remind me of Serj and Daron. SOAD uses a lot of folk rifts. They are certainly cut from the same cloth in my opinon

idd, amazing
M R he stabbed himself in the eye? Okay. They are wrong. But awesome yea.
Then I grabbed that knife, stabbed it straight through my eye and Then I fell to my knees Oh.
Yes that what he sang. I'm confused ??
Debra Hall I agree the lyrics imply the narrator stabbed himself in the eye. Similar to how their song "Gunslingers Glory" implies that the narrator shot himself in the head. Their songs are quite dark and the narrator killing himself is the solution to the life situation he finds himself in.
stumbled onto "The Dead South" on youtube , the first video I saw was "In Hell I'll Be In Good Company" and I was hooked, didn't know where they're from, actually had to look on map to see where the hell Regina, SK. was , now I'm in the United States and didn't recognize the state abbreviation, lol, well Oh Canada who knew, great job guys keep up the great music and keep sharing these great music videos.
Same, I'm hooked. I might love bluegrass now
That was the first song i heard too i fuckin love it

Please, don't never stop make music!!!!! You're my life-and soulsafer!
Yeah i don't get to say this very often but that cello player is fuckin bad ass
What's even more badass is how he plays it like a bass guitar, which is very much like Folk Punk.

@@badfish41969 In many an interview, they described their music as punk rock played on acoustic instruments, which is the very definition of Folk Punk.
This is folk music; it's true Americana. These are incredibly skilled musicians, playing professional instruments. The song writing is truly creative. Regards, George Armstrong
They're Canadian 😂
America is a continent.. so yeah, Americana.
@@PorteDeCieux No. As Canadians we don't refer to ourselves as Americans.

Metal head here (obviously), these guys popped up on TH-cam yesterday. I listened to about 8 of their songs ...they...are.... AWESOME! Great musicians, great vocal harmonies, great lyrics, feeling. Not over produced. I'm now officially a fan of THE DEAD SOUTH
Metalhead myself, idk if its just talent or what but theres something about these guys just fuckin gets me!
One of the best songs ever. Touches deep.
Many many moons ago, (40 or so) i realized I had pigeonholed myself regarding music. You know, it's Rock and Roll, or its Country or nothing.
Over time I started listening to music outside my self made prison, and realized that there's a lot more out there. This was in part by, as a LEO, whenever i arrested someone, alit of times, they were in the back seat yelling, cussing, etc., putting their kind of music on the radio, in time they would hear a song they liked and would shut up so they could hear the song. Ever so often, by the time we got to the jail they would actually tell me ( your not so bad after all).
This of course exposed me to a wide range of music. So my philosophy change to, if I like it, I like it. The Dead South definitely falls into my box of likes. I find the addition of a Cello in Blue Grass is in genius. So far this band is one of my favorites, hope they don't radically change as some do. Guess it must be really hard for a band to stick with a format over the course of their career.
Ricky Nelson said something like, hear I am singing the same damn songs after all this time.
Guess that's the downside of an entertainment carrier. Now say that, their are several singers and bands that I wish they would change or leave. Lol
This is country music i have wanted to listen to for years...not the shit that normally passes for country lately. Love you guys.
This is straight out of the Old West.
It has more of a blue grass music feel to me than country.
Can you believe this style of bluegrass coming from Canadians? They've got it down
My friends favorite song, hated when he played it everyime we rolled on ecstasy. Now its my favorite since he passed away from a heroin overdose. Now i live to carry on his legacy.

Tin Star brought me here!
This is the kind of country Hillbilly that hits you where you live. This should be on the radio, not that popular trash. New favorite band right here!

This group is so amazing! How did I just now hear about them...
Just knocked all my favorite bands out of the water..
The Dead South is now my absolute favorite band. You guys ROCK.
Probably one of my favorite songs by The Dead South right here
When is this going to become mainstream? I am so tired of autotune and pop country
It was. In a sadly forgotten decade
Hopefully never. Those people have their music. This isnt for them
Why would you want it to go mainstream? I like watching the band in clubs and theaters from 10 feet away. Society is dumb. Let the mainstream go sit in their stadiums watching their bad pop country.
@@jeffs.5882 I completely agree. Let us have our gold and let them enjoy theirs.
Wait its not?
This is a very good band that captures quite a few style, and mixes it's in there own unique style. It's intelligent and slightly tongue in cheek. It's a great sound with it's own merits, and has to been seen live in the setting of some some old dilapidated venue to catch the angle these guys are coming from. Please come to the UK, or to be more precise West Yorkshire.
Holmfirth picturedrome?
Kelvin Wilson and Norwich.
Go to any confederate states where the union burned down cities thats the impression i get
cmguitar2094 they're Canadian so...
i mean, theyd probablly fit in around where i live haha or maybe in PA. dont relly know too much about this style in canada
The harmonies are marvelous, and the tempo changes perfect. And who can fault a bass fiddle strummer?
I'm a big classics guy, like back to civil war songs classic. And these guys kind of bring that feel to modern rock and even if i get bored of em i listen to something like the wanderer or great pretender and i say "hell, y'know what would make this better. A cover by dead south" and i come right back to em
It's sort of like finding a great big gold nugget. Totally orignal style and sound, no drums, no piano just string and sort of playing lead on a banyo in some songs. They always find a way to blend it all together. People ask me what's there style of music and i say it's sort of like this but it sort of that. I now tell people just and make up your own mind. Its just a whole new sound lyrics and instrumental. Onya boys keep it coming.
Steam punk bluegrass?
