I'm just amazed seeing a resurrection of thiss...folksy(?) southern(?) bluegrass(?) type of music. And it's coming out of places you wouldn't even expect like Canada or California for crying out loud haha. And it sounds genuine too. Very interesting. I hope this kind of music sticks around for awhile. I'm a Mexican dude from a California suburb and this shit gets me UP. I never understood why people don't like a particular song just because it's from a particular genre. If a song is good, it's fucking good. It doesn't matter if it's rock, jazz, soul, folk, rap, EDM or whatever; or if it's perceived to be white or black or purple people music.
It doesn’t matter where it comes from to be country. Lots of country folk come out of the canada america border like Montana. It’s the northern CITIES that we call yankee
I think the main reason anyone hates a specific genre is cause most of that genre that's popular is shitty music. The good stuff doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Like as far as country goes, for instance, one of the best artists many ain't heard of is Chris Knight. Check his song Going Down the River. It's metal as fuck, but it's real country.
Lyrics Now!: Tore up the restraining order I don't care I'm comin' over What your daddy said isn't goin' over to well Don't you know not to kiss and tell Mama said, she's my brothers daughter And I don't even know who's my father I guess she's my cousin But she needs some sweet lovin' anyway Pulled you out by your hair If people ask I was never there Come on baby and take a ride with me Come on baby let's drive to the sea Mama said, she's my brothers daughter And I don't even know who's my father I guess she's my cousin But she needs some sweet lovin' anyway It's a hot night drivin' down highway sixty With my baby in the passenger seat I roll down my window and I Lean my head back and put my foot to the floor We're going faster And she's saying slow down (Slow down) We're going faster And she's saying slow down (Slow down) We're going faster And she's saying slow down (Slow down) We're going faster And she's saying slow down (Slow down) And I say no And she's saying slow down And I say no And she's saying slow down And I say no And she's saying slow down And I say no And shes screaming slow down And I say no Mama said, she's my brothers daughter And I don't even care who's my father I guess she's my cousin But she needs some sweet lovin' anyway
The banjo player it OMG, A rock star regardless of his chosen instrument, Bass man can do anything, vocals wow, they are one a kind. They came to my town, I'm there.
I saw them this past November.. my new favorite band. Thank God there's still bands with actual musicians that play actual instruments in this era of plastic, disposable pop shit.

People are tired of deadbeat pop, I can't blame them.
It doesn’t matter where it comes from to be country. Lots of country folk come out of the canada america border like Montana. It’s the northern CITIES that we call yankee
Never left
I think the main reason anyone hates a specific genre is cause most of that genre that's popular is shitty music. The good stuff doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Like as far as country goes, for instance, one of the best artists many ain't heard of is Chris Knight. Check his song Going Down the River. It's metal as fuck, but it's real country.
Well said! 👏
Lyrics Now!:
Tore up the restraining order
I don't care I'm comin' over
What your daddy said isn't goin' over to well
Don't you know not to kiss and tell
Mama said, she's my brothers daughter
And I don't even know who's my father
I guess she's my cousin
But she needs some sweet lovin' anyway
Pulled you out by your hair
If people ask I was never there
Come on baby and take a ride with me
Come on baby let's drive to the sea
Mama said, she's my brothers daughter
And I don't even know who's my father
I guess she's my cousin
But she needs some sweet lovin' anyway
It's a hot night drivin' down highway sixty
With my baby in the passenger seat
I roll down my window and I
Lean my head back and put my foot to the floor
We're going faster
And she's saying slow down
(Slow down)
We're going faster
And she's saying slow down
(Slow down)
We're going faster
And she's saying slow down
(Slow down)
We're going faster
And she's saying slow down
(Slow down)
And I say no
And she's saying slow down
And I say no
And she's saying slow down
And I say no
And she's saying slow down
And I say no
And shes screaming slow down
And I say no
Mama said, she's my brothers daughter
And I don't even care who's my father
I guess she's my cousin
But she needs some sweet lovin' anyway
The look on the guy's face when the line hits has me in stitches! 😱
I like how they take their music seriously but not themselves so much.
Love the sound of a banjo. Gives me the chills 2 hear a good banjo player. Dude's voice in top of that? Absolutely perfection
That's very average banjo.
Love their songs but " I guess she's my cousin but she needs some sweet loving anyway " makes me die laughing
The "I just want liquor and dirty whores" in bastard son also gets me every time. Particularly when I whistle it at work.
J Q do you want to be my cousin
trollin was never done so beautifully
I just got to that part, and damn near fell out om chair..
Totally agree
Some comment on another video described this guys voice as broken glass and honey and that just perfectly describes it.
"She's my cousin, but she needs some sweet lovin anyway". Wow ... I think this is my new favorite band.
Cousins are just for practice right?
@@JohnJohn-wo3vz Yes, you are correct.

Lol
Derek Allen Hallelujah!
Kinda catchy...
Massive talent... what's odd is you can't get any personality from them in the videos. Love this band... good ole hometown group. Go guys!
My family over hears the chorus.
Me: "Look it's a joke. It... it must be a joke. It's GOTTA be a joke. Please be a joke."
It is, don't worry! They made a statement on Facebook about it being satire
Just tell them what it's actually about. It's about a dude who abducts, rapes, and then murder/suicides his cousin.
Naw it aint no joke
@@dakotakade3547 No it isn't you liberal 😂
@@dakotakade3547 .......wtf is wrong with you?
Played this in the hospital for my first child's birth...my baby momma/cousin loved it! Thank you! We named our son Cletus!
The banjo player it OMG, A rock star regardless of his chosen instrument, Bass man can do anything, vocals wow, they are one a kind. They came to my town, I'm there.
It's a cello, not a bass. Basses are bigger my boyfriend plays a smaller version of a standing and it's double this size
I saw them this past November.. my new favorite band. Thank God there's still bands with actual musicians that play actual instruments in this era of plastic, disposable pop shit.
You guys are awesome. We still just LOVE "Banjo Dude"
this song will break the floor again at the encore theatre in Sydney in 2023!!!!!!!!!
I knew what this song was about the first time I heard - All my metal friends love this stuff 🤘
I'm addicted to this band now. Happenstance of TH-cam and underground rap is what I listen to.
Big fan guys
Someone dared me to listen to this with someone around me and I went all out, full volume next to my parents. Big fucking mistake 😭😭
I'm sorry to hear that 🫖 are you familiar with Bridge City Sinners ? Start with "Ashes."
When you listen to 111s early label stuff, then you listen to this album, it's Hank Jr all over. Breaking free from the corporate crap he really puts it out on Straight to Hell. 4 generations still in play... priceless
You are the most authentic, real musicians playing the best music I have hear in a long time. I am binge watching you all today.
Wow absolutely amazing guys. No words to describe how awesome your music makes my ears feel but I randomly came across The Dead South and so glad I did.
Came for the cousin loving, stayed for the music.
These guys play these songs so effortlessly it boggles my mind
