This is by far the best Demo of the New Revstars. You understand what the focus and middle positions are for musically, and display them as they can be used. Well Done. Too many demos, just play whatever and flick through the positions or pull on the focus while finger picking the neck with a dark amp setting making it sound bad.
I have a black Element model, and it is ridiculously versatile in the tonal possibilities and very comfortable to play. One of the best values for about $500. I think they look great too. I'd like to get a standard with P-90s. They're fine instruments, destined to become classics in my opinion.
Must admit he isn't the first person I come to for reviews but he's given I think the best demo of the extent of what can come out of these things especially with the P90.
I love the look of the swift blue with rally stripes but I wish it came with the P90s. P90s sound fantastic!

You Rock Dagan as always! Good demonstration!! All the colors I dig! Just Kick ASS! But the Yellow is the one I want!! I own a 2018 Revstar! I love it!!
Are the RSPRo & RSStnd the same as to electronics, hardware & frets? Do they differ only in which country they are made? And what's the difference between Humbuckers & P90s. Planning to buy one next month. Thanks for any info.
Blimey. I came to the site for comfirmation, thinking I knew exactly what I wanted (Black Standard with humbuckers). I'm now loving the green, and the P90s too.
One thing i think no one has said.... when you wake up late at night with that idea for that song you have been working on you will always grab this guitar. the unplugged sound of this is amazing. It has to be the chambered body.
I see very few youtubers mention the bigger body but none mention how the new bigger body feels good/bad too big ect. So how does the new body feel and does it cause any issues?
Love the blue. I apparently have developed a weakness for buying guitars in that color. It's only a matter of time... 2 days later...order pending. FYI: you can get them $90 cheaper. I called with a question and got the offer. update: as of 9-4-22 order is still pending and gets moved further out every time it gets within 3 weeks of the last posted shipping date. I picked up a rs320 stock yellow revstar to enjoy while waiting.
I recently got myself a Revstar rs420 and I love it. It looks and feels like a a super expensive guitar but only costs 500 bucks. If the new models are even close to as good I can recommend.
@@nicholasmartin6713 It's not exactly like a Fender neck because it's has a gloss finish but aside from that I agree. The neck is very smooth and has a good grip
@@daggercatz7297 ohh I guess yeah I don't know I am just going by what they said because of the size I think, either way great guitar that maybe will increase in value since the new ones have a different look & stuff.
@@nicholasmartin6713 I don't think a 500 bucks guitar will increase much but yeah there is a chance. The new ones are very different and I prefer the old ones both by look and rest
Im torn between the Revstar Standard P90 and a G2215 P90 (which is half the price, but with 1 P90 and a Broad'tron). Anyone have any thoughts, feelings or tips?
well i have the Gretsch, it's great. now i'm thinking of getting a Electromatic Jet and putting a humbucker-sized p90 in the neck. either a nice TVJ or a somewhat less expensive SD Phat Cat. but then i remembered that green and black standard there. black Phat Cat in the neck, black SD Pearly Gates Plus in the bridge. now that's something.
Ok, so I just bought my grandson a Ibanez miKro. He’s just learning. I think I’m going to get the RSS for him for later. I will enjoy it for now. I am listening on crappy speakers. Can’t tell if it sounds more like a LP or SG.
This is the best Revstar review! Dagan's cool! The other reviews didn't really highlight the gap between the Element and the others. At their pricepoint they're not special on the tonal front. As one of the other commenters said, there seems to be a lack of bass. And I did want to like them.
@@KakavashaForever All the models above the element are fitted with a pre-amp. To me it kind if produces a fuller tone; have a listen again with headphones on maybe, see what you think. Also check out Phil McKnights' review, he explains how he thinks it works but you can hear the difference. I would definitely go for the standard range over the element.
I’m trying to get a RS502T in Vintage Japanese Denim-like the one Dagan played in his video about Yamaha. If those are all sold out, I’m going with a RSS02T in Hot Merlot. Either way, I think I’ll be in good shape.
@@davidgood6744 the last I was told was December from sweetwater. ☹️ I cancelled and bought a local previous model RS502TFM amazing guitar. I will eventually get one of these new ones too.
Great review as always! My mate has Juliano out of the band Gun's old SG2000. Similar shape and weighs a ton but seriously much better looking guitar. That said it's on his wall ands he never plays it. Sad.
They should've done that fluorescent yellow element with a black pick guard/pick ups and the black stripe like the standard they made in green. Why the cream? Makes no sense.
Why not try dialing in a proper metal distortion instead of that shitty fuzz tone you have dialed in? These things are capable of much more than what you dialed in.
I had a Revstar 420 in gold. It looked amazing but the pickups were lifeless. The “dry switch” just went up and down and didn’t impact the sound at all. The guitar gathered dust for a few months until I sold it. I like Yamaha products but this guitar was poor. Surprised that they have relaunched the range.
@@drewson2a512 I guess the higher range of revstars don't have these issues, since the reviews I am reading are mostly extremely positive. Could be that the one you got was bad? Most of the colors are gimmicky, and so is the crapease tailpiece. Can anything come with a standard plain sunburst any more, or is that a $500 surcharge? And carbon fiber, great, now it's part bicycle & part Ovation. Forget it, I's sticking with my old Tele.
Honestly, this is the best new Revstar demo!!! Dagan is the one and only on TH-cam, hell yea!!! 🤘🏼
He is so excited he keeps mixing up the bridge and tail piece. hah
The P90 version sounds amazing

Same here brother

0:39 on looks like cgi, that's amazing how clean it all looks.
Waiting oh so patiently for my Element to come in!
The Black Standard with humbuckers is my favorite.
Nice Video. What is the weight of the standard?
Tone shift sounds like a Bright cap on an amp..adds back in the transients and dynamic control
What are the jumbo frets like? Are they much taller than medium jumbos? I hope so, as I love big frets.

Finally played one, excellent build quality, good frets. Great feeling neck, just didn’t bond with the sound
black and green for sure
Why did they change?
The colours went from CLASSY to CRAZY.
Exactly, and not only the bodies and colours. Yamaha has remade the range to fit the egos of the superficial dickhead demographic of the US market.
There's more colours in the range than whats shown here.
The green and black one just look like ben 10's car
Love the green
Neon Yellow element does it for me.
