    Thank you for posting this video, it literally saved me a BIG PARTS BILL, as my ball joint was seized to the aluminum lower control arm. With this video I was able to replace the wheel bearing without replacing the ball joint, lower control arm, bushings or related bolts.
    With saying this, the video does NOT tell you a few important things, such as you have to turn the steering out toward the side that you are working on, in my case to the left about 1 full turn. Still the stub axle did not have sufficient room come out, as it was making contact with the sway bar end link. I had to jack up both sides of the Tiguan to relieve the tension on the sway bar, then loosed the left sway bar end link to get enough room to remove the stub axle from the bearing that gave access to remove the 4 M12 Triple Square bolts that fasten the wheel bearing

    Really good video! Thanks. I was able to replace my front wheel bearings on my Tiguan. However It took me many hours just to take out the part. It was sticking together tightly. I had to use hammer with full power. (I assume that I messed the wheel alignment up). I found that there was a tool (after finishing the job) to pull the bearing in the market or you can rent it for free from Auto Zone. I also had hard time to taking out and re - inserting the wheel joint. It took me two days to finish including replacing the break pad. Thanks.

    Hey what are the sizes you are using? And when you torque it down by how much?

      Really need an answer as I’m about to do this to my car

      The guy in the store wasnt sure but he told me 150Nm +180° on the 4 bolts for the bearing housing, and 200Nm on the axle bolt.
      I just tightened them all to what i felt was tight enough. Cause i couldnt find any specific numbers anywhere, not even in the box the bearing came in.
      Good luck, and thanks for your question!👍🏻

    Hej! Jag planerar att byta hjullager bak på min Skoda Octavia mk3 2015 4×4, der ser ut som det är samma hjulupphängning och samma platform. Har du bytt bakre hjullager?

    • @Aleks_Mechanics

      Eg har ikke byttet hjullager bak på skoda enda, men det vil komme en video om det til slutt.

      @@Aleks_Mechanics you used a torque wrench at the end for you wheel bolts but the bolts actually securing your hub to the axle and suspension you did by feel? 🤔

    • @Aleks_Mechanics
      @Aleks_Mechanics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@feinschmegga yes, i need a different one for the tourqe range of those bolts, the wrench for the lug bolts are to high to be accurate on bearing bolts. I'll get the right one soon👍🏻
