Hard to believe these two are 37 years apart. Between Andrew's poise and maturity and Dave's youthful spirit, they seem more like friends than mentor and mentee. Anyway, great conversation. Dave is a role model for pretty much anyone.
Dude, thank you for the frank, honest talk about your father. I think more of us need to hear that kind of thing. Sometimes parents suck, and there’s nothing else to it
Was so excited to see a solid conversation with Dave. The discussion about religion was particularly fascinating, and a great unexpected moment as a listener. From my deep dives on Dave and listening to his previous podcast appearances, I was already aware of his deep religious convictions and community he gets from it. Appreciate you opening up about yourself and sharing some of your background. I don't like to use the term "humanizing", but I think that the moments where you opened up help with that. As a recently-turned 26 year-old who's been down the longevity rabbit hole since I was 23, I've been super curious about your journey into longevity and to understand your background and just generally understand more about you as a person. There's so few of our demographic in the longevity space at this time, which is both cool (#earlyadopter) but also admittedly kinda lonely as you stated. It's interesting to have friends who are generally fit but don't do "this", having coworkers who wonder why i repeatedly turn down on their go-out-for-lunch offers in favor of eating my "bird food" instead (that's what they call my seed/grain/vegetable/supplement powder bowls), etc etc. To build up that sense of community and feel like I'm somehow contributing and spreading awareness of the space, I made a slow-aging athletic community account on Instagram called Super Slug Athletic Club (@superslugclub). Hoping to build a little online community and potentially a local community where I live in Maine, and coordinate some zone 2 or high interval run meetups for fun. PS - for the part of the discussion that went into overlap and shared truth about the religions, I kept being reminded of a book called Be Here Now by Ram Dass. It's a little out there but a relatively quick and fun read if you can get past the start. Consider giving it a shot if you haven't already! If you're like me and your girlfriend is sick of hearing your newest longevity/health fascination, feel free to give me a shout over Instagram (@rrrylanb). Always up to talk shop about this stuff
Thanks for making this interview Andrew and sharing the knowledge with us. I didn't even know about Dave before you showed and talked about him in your prior video. To get the same confirmation from Dave about longevity about so much common things him and Bryan do like sleep and diet, just reassure that the way they do it is the right way.
Dave, your explanation of god and how you feel like everything is god and it's all connected - we're all connected - that's how I've felt my whole life 😌
I got the same thought of Dave, i believe that all religions have trues in them. So i pick what i see reasonable on all of it. I love contents about longevity, mentality, powers or techniques that humankind hasve forgotten. Thank you for this awesome video, love from Brazil❤
I did p90x in my 20s and in my 30s it happened to be so that I was invited to Tony Hortons house for a workout by a mutual friend. Tony had a group of like 10 friends to do it with him. He said that he didn’t expect me to get through it… stating that even pro football players vomit when trying this workout. I got through it and it was the toughest workout I have ever done in my life. Because it was a workout by Tony for Tony. Also he is super funny in real life cracking one joke after another. Was a fun life experience.
Interesting that Dave found a way to reconcile the biblic/religious ideals with that of pursuing healthy longevity. Like, "if I'm trying trying to be healthy and live longer, it must be that God gave me that idea, for a reason..." . It's working well for him, and in the end that is probably what will be his "secret weapon". (Because it's making him happier, less stressed => healthier ).
Loved his testimony on Jesus. Truly He is the only one that can fulfill our needs and our emptiness. He fulfills our longings and gives us hope to live here on this earth and live a long life and rejoice in it, despite all the heartaches that we face in our life.
I am happy to inform you that my denomination is the correct one.. lol... I've actually had similar experiences. The ascetic tendencies amongst Christians may be related to the Greek philosophers influencing Christians, Augustine for instance. At one point Paul was rejected when he spoke about the resurrection of the body. The book of acts is full of bodily experience. The New Testament norm would be to "nourish and cherish" one's own body. I appreciate the questions : )
Great vid, I'd recomend just leaving the next interviews uncut (or just cut a little) because it'd make them seem way more natural than this one is. Keep up the great work man
Crazy that the church taught you not to ask questions- when the Bible encourages us to asl questions and investigate the things people are telling us. We were created to unified, but have somehow learned that the opposite is the prized virtue. Everyone is being made in the image of God, and as such- everyone has the ability to ascertain truths about reality. So, to a degree- when you say all religions have truths about God, it isn't wrong. Creation is said to be affected by the sin of Adam- which clearly shows a spiritual aspect. If the birds and the heavens declare the glory of God, we have to acknowledge that His presence and character are everywhere and on display for all to acknowledge. All was made to operate as a system. And we want to operate solo. And diet coincides with that. Stumbling upon this was an unexpected blessing
1:08:00 Wow! Hearing you guys do not get a 100% Whoop sleep score really amazes me. I get them regularly. I guess not having a reason to get up at a specific time helps a lot too. I have had chronic fatigue for 5 years and I have had no other choice but to have my body dictate my sleep routine besides the time and way I go to sleep. I usually get up after I have done a lot of stretching in bed in the morning because that is mostly when my muscles are the shortest and have been for years. I am slowly making progress on my upper leg and pelvis muscles which have been almost spasmodic for years from all the pent-up stress, unexpressed frustration, anger, and disempowerment.
I am surprised how similar my diet is to his. I eat a bit more meat than he does, and I am less high-end (the most expensive cut I buy is flank steak, and it is not grass-fed. I also eat farmed salmon...because it actually has more omega 3, and while I am very concerned about lead, I am not as concerned about mercury), but there is a huge overlap, even down to the occasional fried fish. That is the only fried thing I eat. I have that once every 4 to 6 months. There just seems to be something in there I feel better eating. Not that frozen fish stick junk. Restaurant. I similarly came from a home where spices were rarely used. I use them all the time now. I must use at least 20 different spices. I am not trying to make it hot. I am trying to make it tasty and exciting, because I am avoiding the Maillard browning reaction, because of the Advanced Glycation End-products (AGEs). I don't eat out as much as he does. In fact, the only time I eat out is when I eat that fish. A bar code is not a measure of "processed" to me. Even fruit has a barcode. I eat tofu. That is packaged at a factory. And cheese. Though, I try to only eat low AGEs cheeses. I drink milk, but not much lately. I eat a lot of raw nuts and seeds. I try for variety and reaching several categories. I try to have mushrooms, algae, seeds, sprouts, nuts, flowers, legumes, green leafy, red, yellow, purple, blue, and orange fruits and vegetables daily. Grains less often. I usually have wild rice or oatmeal. And I eat corn chips sometimes. No, not Doritos. He apparently likes acorn squash, while I like butternut. I eat eggs, cheese, milk, fish, beef, chicken, turkey, and lamb. I guess I don't eat many clams and other shellfish. Very rarely, I will have a few shrimp. My supplement stack is probably very similar, but I shop harder for bargains, and often go with bulk to do that. And I have less formula stuff and more just individual things. I also have a subset, where I microdose. I make up my own pill that have a dozen things in at low dose. These are things I found to be as effective or more effective at lower dose. It also stretches my supply, and my dollar. I have experimented with lots of things the other direction as well. And that has backfired at least 4 times. But I have learned over the last 20 years and am pretty satisfied with my current stack. Though, I suspect there are a few things still too high. I have to do more experimentation. Taking each and cutting the dose in half, and see how that is for a month. Most have been tested with and without, and double dose. Not enough tested at half dose. I also am already testing multiple things. I have been testing eating a whole bag of microwaved frozen mixed vegetables as breakfast or as part of breakfast (I am eating ones mostly without carrots because of lead). I am eager to see what that does for my blood biomarkers. Subjectively, it is an improvement, and I will probably keep it unless the blood results are poor. After I get my tests I am going to add either HIIT or resistance training or both. Just hiking currently. Also, thinking of adding weight while hiking (rucking). I want to avoid ankle and knee issues, so I will probably add weight slowly, if I do it. I am not as fit, as he is, for sure. I am exercising, but have a long way to go. Even so, my resting heart rate is 49. 47 nearly asleep. I think people make a mistake thinking we have to be under 10% body fat to be healthy. Lowest all cause mortality is actually 24% fat (for men). Which is a bit funny, as it is only a couple points from "obese." Do I really think that is the healthiest? No. It likely is distorted by body wasting diseases like cancer. I think 14-17% is probably optimal, perhaps even more broad like 12-19%. It is all speculation currently. I think that is crazy. We should know something this important. And, of course, for both sexes. My goal is 17%, mostly because that is the lowest that looks healthy to me. Your eye may have a different opinion. I take into account what you might need if hospitalized, or sick, what might help in a fall vs hinder, extreme weather and being stranded, but also needing to travel on foot 50+ miles with little or nothing. If you are too trim to survive in the wild for a month, I think you are putting yourself at unnecessary risk. All this said, I still have a ways to get even to that. I have lost 60 lb, but am on a plateau. At least I have not gone backward, and I am also happy I have only lost fat, according to my body comp scale. On the negative, I have not gained any muscle, either. Or, rather, I suspect I have gained some lower body muscle while losing the same amount of upper body muscle. I have just been keeping my baggy pants up with suspenders. Tried on some shorts at the Walmart today, and discovered that I am down 7 sizes (more than a foot). That is hard for me to get my mind around. That was only going down 60 lb. I need to go into my attic and find all the clothes that I sized out of, before I am too small to fit in those. This is also making we wonder if my body comp scale is accurate, or if I have gained muscle, and lost more fat than the scale says. He talked about growing his own stuff. That I want to do as well. Mostly, to avoid the lead that is in several foods I like. I definitely want to grow yams, and a variety of sprouts. I am dreaming of growing chocolate. It might be possible with climate change. I have not seen a frost day in a few years. I don't have trackers. I do use a blood pressure cuff, a pulse oximeter, a thermometer, a body composition scale, and a hand dynamometer (I uploaded a vid where I did 188 lb). Most of these I use daily. I have not done DEXA, CIMT, pulse wave analysis, telomere, or DNA methylation tests. Though, I would like to. I have tested HS-CRP which was below or at the limit of the test, homocysteine, which was not bad but could be better, Apolipoprotein B which I have gotten different results depending on what I am doing. I suspect I have that back where it should be, but I am due for a test. Hemoglobin A1C has room for improvement, but is not terrible. And I recently found out about a cool test we can do ourselves to evaluate aspects of arterial health. It is called an Ankle-Brachial Index test. You just need an automatic blood pressure cuff that is big enough to accommodate your ankle. My result was 1.1, which is good. They want between .9 and 1.4, I think. Instructions are easy to find. Stanford has some good info, and a vid. I have used supplements, and lifestyle changes to target organs, my blood work showed high/low/abnormal. And that has worked. Hard to track down any particular action to each improvement, but by GFR went up 39 points suggesting my kidneys are now excellent, and my liver numbers are close to optimal. Unlike most people in this space, I am trying to also improve mental functioning and do testing for that, as well. I use bullet chess monthly average Elo performances, and reaction time tests mostly. I should do more. I want to improve working memory, and a few other things. This can be hard to evaluate well unless sleep is good and regular, or unless there are many averaged performances.
If you change grades outside of the day that grades are input, a report is sent to the Principal. If you as a teacher have a good reason, then you write an explanation. Without the explanation, an investigation starts.
The questions and responses by Dave, were mostly generalizes and not specific, so I didn't get much out of it. Like myself Dave, looks 20 years younger than his age. His forehead looks yountful, I wonder if he had any Btx? ,
@@19Jetta No 60+ year-olds have skin that firm and taut, we all start to sag by then. Compare his face to his neck. The Botox smooths the "11" lines between the eyebrows while still allowing him to raise them up. The blood work is from eating well and exercise though.
1:09:33 That's really bad for Whoop if true. I know sleep algorithm and wearable device experts who tell me Whoop is trash, so I wouldn't be surprised.
Yeah, the sleep tracking thing is accurate. It’s time based, not quality based. I really like whoop for the most part, but it seems like their sleep tracking could be improved.
Man why not to check a holy grail of longevity and young look - named Chuando Tan ( Singaporean photographer and actor) Everybody else just pale ... nobody is even a close to that visage at his 58 years of age and looking in middle twenties
Interesting, Dave Pascoe is a Christian Pantheist? I suppose Colossians 1:15-21 does describe God as having all things existing within him. I seriously doubt Paul meant that in a Pantheistic sense, merely nothing can exist without God.
You'll get older, you'll get it ;) . Religion is part of his "tricks" or things that helped his health. Don't underestimate the toll of too much stress.
Ofcourse we all are part of God he created us all in his image. God is interested in everyone I am a borne again Christian now but used to be Muslim when I look back at my life even though I had not chosen Jesus he was present in my life . Every religion has some truth but truth is just truth the real one. Yes god wants us to even love the murder and forgive them pray for them , help them if able . My 2 bits Jesus is real the only living god .
Also as far as health, healing are all Jesus,s domain. He healed all, God is the god of restoration , By his stripes we are healed, Our youth is renewed like the eagles , King David was very good looking, Sara and Abram had Isaak when they were very old in age but were very young ,and many more. I am a baby Christian but god has revealed himself to me 🌹
Thank you for your commitment. Sarah and Abraham having a kid while being very old has been on my mind for years. Could you please share verses that say that they looked and felt young at their age? I know Sarah went through menopause already. Bible mentions that.
The nuns should've answered the question. Makes me assume they don't know the answer and never thought about it even though they center their lifes around this religion...
I would say he looks a healthy 43. But that is still substantially younger than chronological. I don't think 100 is even going to be a challenge, assuming he does not get a cancer they can't do anything about. And even though cancer killed (or at least affected the health of) his parents, I think he is doing all the right things to prevent that from happening to him. Maybe he should do that 6k test (Galleri) for dozens of cancers every 5 or 10 years? And/or that full body scan that is done to try to find anything (prenuvo, ezra, and probably others). That is also pricey (2.5k). Easier and cheaper to keep track of cardiovascular health. But it makes sense to look closely for what kills in your family, and do all the preemptive stuff. Lots of false positives on the MRIs, which is why it is good to get at least one early for baseline to compare future scans to. If nothing is changing, it probably is not cancer.
Dave's dying his hair, and his face is still 60 as fuck. I'm not denying the longevity attempts of him and Bryan Johnson, but imo, we all do need to get real, they're getting old. I'd hope they could have the mental and physical characteristics of a 65 year old by 85, that would seem good, but that's about all I can see. Had shit like this been implemented earlier, Biden might have been better at debating Trump.
Hard to believe these two are 37 years apart. Between Andrew's poise and maturity and Dave's youthful spirit, they seem more like friends than mentor and mentee. Anyway, great conversation. Dave is a role model for pretty much anyone.

You talk many time about blood tests. Which company are you and David using for blood tests?
Does he dye his beard? Genuinely Curious
Yes his Said on ig
@@StevenHombessawhat brand of dye does he use?
The questions and responses by Dave, were mostly generalizes and not specific, so I didn't get much out of it. Like myself Dave, looks 20 years younger than his age. His forehead looks yountful, I wonder if he had any Btx? ,
He has lots of specifics on his website, if you want more detail.
Botox and a facelift.
@@tw6109 Lol - I am trying to imagine Dave getting a facelift...but regardless, that wouldn't change blood work and his blood work is bangin'
@@19Jetta No 60+ year-olds have skin that firm and taut, we all start to sag by then. Compare his face to his neck. The Botox smooths the "11" lines between the eyebrows while still allowing him to raise them up. The blood work is from eating well and exercise though.
@@tw6109 el asiatico de 60 años que parece de 20 y 30 años fliparas
Timestamps would greatly help your nice videos! ❤
Did not know you were that young hehe, thought you were way older.
I'll catch up
Wonder if he does intermittent fasting.
Does Dave dye his hair?
Yes!
What brand of hair dye does he use? @@Project.Andrew
1:09:33 That's really bad for Whoop if true. I know sleep algorithm and wearable device experts who tell me Whoop is trash, so I wouldn't be surprised.
Yeah, the sleep tracking thing is accurate. It’s time based, not quality based. I really like whoop for the most part, but it seems like their sleep tracking could be improved.
interesting thing about this interview is you forget he's 61
the only thing that reminded me of his age is his lack of some teeth
Get Chuando Tan on the show...
Why take care about your body? 1) It is a temple of the Holy Spirit. 2) To be more useful to the Lord.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
No kids
I'm sure that plays a part
It probably depends on the kind of kids.
His cells at 61: *chews telomeres but won't break* well, we tried 🦖
So where are the secrets?
It's not about secrets. It's about what he does, and he's open about it.
Thanks - that was a great conversation, but nothing will convince me that fried fish is bad for you.
he was a question asker
Man why not to check a holy grail of longevity and young look - named Chuando Tan ( Singaporean photographer and actor) Everybody else just pale ... nobody is even a close to that visage at his 58 years of age and looking in middle twenties
Interesting, Dave Pascoe is a Christian Pantheist? I suppose Colossians 1:15-21 does describe God as having all things existing within him. I seriously doubt Paul meant that in a Pantheistic sense, merely nothing can exist without God.
Didn’t get much out of it. We expected to reveal some secrets about nutrition, sleep, exercise but ended up speaking about religion. Poor interview
Thanks for the feedback! That stuff is readily available on his website and other interviews. I wanted to talk to Dave about topics no one else has.
❤ how are you snacking …on chlorella? Just a powder drink or is there some chlorella bar out there I don’t know about 😅
Tablet 👌🏼👌🏼
@@Project.Andrew okay but fr then is this an at home snack cuz what do you do for the green teeth? Follow it up with an activated charcoal snack? 😂
I have to go through this again and write down all the recommendations.
This is incredible 🫀💎🧬🫂
Also as far as health, healing are all Jesus,s domain.
He healed all,
God is the god of restoration ,
By his stripes we are healed,
Our youth is renewed like the eagles ,
King David was very good looking,
Sara and Abram had Isaak when they were very old in age but were very young ,and many more.
Yo
The nuns should've answered the question. Makes me assume they don't know the answer and never thought about it even though they center their lifes around this religion...
good video
Dude looks 30
30😂😂😂
He looks early 40s
He looks late 40s imo.
No kids
No real job
Mom cooks for him....
Boom!! Magic telemirs.....!!!!
Am stronger younger than dave pascoe
...so he a mamas boy who still lives with his parents?...disappionting
Marathons are soo bad for your health !!
Nothing much about longevity
Dude find yourself an original intro monologue. This is clearly Lex Fridman intro
😂😂
Dave's dying his hair, and his face is still 60 as fuck.
I'm not denying the longevity attempts of him and Bryan Johnson, but imo, we all do need to get real, they're getting old.
I'd hope they could have the mental and physical characteristics of a 65 year old by 85, that would seem good, but that's about all I can see.
Had shit like this been implemented earlier, Biden might have been better at debating Trump.
Not 60. He looks beautiful 40
What his biological age now?
I believe Dave is 61 and will turn 62 in August. I think his bio-age through TrueAge is 39.

61 wtf
he dyes his hair, for one
Total nonsense
such a cool guy. Terrible shame that he still believes in god, but other than that, hard to find any arguments against him
I'm sorry that you heart is not open to the truth of Jesus Christ. Health is all good and well....but pales in comparison to eternity
He looks like a healthy guy in his late 40s with a very good skin care Routine. Below bis China he looks like a grandpa.
