      +bicycless211 ya there is a place here over in Tempe Iron Horse bikes that does stuff like that. Seems to me that if you look like you know what you are doing then they just want your money otherwise charging $1000 to install the motor kit is about right in their eyes. Yes sucky business practices seem to be the norm when it comes to bike shops that sell the motor kits!!!!

    what is smaller sprocket on the back wheel you lose torque butt you gain speed

    • @Brian136
      @Brian136  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes Toby but if you go to small on the back wheel then you won't get going very well at all because the little engine will only be able to pull at high revs and that is not good!!! stay between 36 and 40 teeth on the rear wheel if you want speed and still have enough torque to pull the bike from take off")thanks for commenting

    • @cwmaxfield2000
      @cwmaxfield2000 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They seldom mention this. The back tires need to be was far back as possible. As chains stretch I gives wiggle room. Too often they suggest the opposite. Remove a link as it stretches.

    The tensioner NEVER goes on top portion of the chain since that part is under load when driving and slack is taken up. Tensioner ALWAYS goes UNDER the bottom part of chain!

    You think the higher compression piston will work in the 2 stroke motor pretty good?

    • @Brian136
      @Brian136  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +bicycless211 That depends on various factors that include whether you have installed better cylinder bolts and nuts that are torqued? Have a better head gasket than the stock piece of something and the porting on the cylinder head is capable of passing the increased amount of spent gas out through the pipe. Otherwise just changing the piston and the ring will in the short term give you a small thrill but over time unless you add the expansion pipe and copper head gasket the gains you made will put more wear on the stock motor and then failure will be sooner than later.

    Thanks for the video on this product, I'm really thinkin about getting one. The stock tensioner just adds a level of nervousness for me when I ride. One thing i wanted to share was about a rear hub sprocket adapter that I got that is similar to yours but with one advantage. The one I got off Ebay from GasBike.net has recessed screws that mount the sprocket to the adapter. This was really helpful in the fact that I did not have to bend my brake arm at all due to clearance issues caused by the protruding mounting screws. So this could be one thing to look for when buying a rear hub sprocket adapter. Thanks again for the video.
