    Great review. I tried in vain for a long time to find the best fitting strap for my comfort level. After many failed attempts and a lot of wasted $$$, I finally found a winner. The bobo m2 pro, has provided the comfort I persistently searched for and needed. The added battery support is a huge bonus. Then to add more positivity to this wonderful strap, the addition of the fan, has proven to be a great set up.
    Once again great content. Thanks Jay 🙏

    Glad to hear you like the BOBOVR M2. I just purchased it with the vent kit without watching or reading any reviews as I usually do haha. I use cable link so dont need the battery but since it says it helps with balance and since the vent needs charging its a win win.

    Love this tier list of Quest 2 straps! I definitely agree with the M2 Pro being at the top of this list. Personally though, while it's the most expensive option not on this list, my favorite would have to be the Frankenquest with a 3D printed battery mount. I have a 20,000 mAh power bank mounted on the back of the strap as a counter weight along with VR Cover padding for both the DAS and Quest and it had held up super well for me lately after finding a sturdy mount. Comfort wise I find it extremely comfortable, but I would place it 2nd compared to the M2 Pro. The M2 Pro is by far the most comfortable head strap I've ever used, but due to some fitting issues plus the smaller sized battery and lack of included headphones, I always go back to the Frankenquest.

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the DAS for a long time and it was nice. I was sticking to straps that come with a battery as part of it or I would've included that. That is simply the BEST way to play for a long time with great audio though.

    after putting in the prescription lenses, I am enamoured with the bobovr m2 pro. already love the battery concept. Took me a bit to make proper adjustments so it felt right on my face and I could see as clearly as I can but once I got that sweet spot - marvelous. Sad mine didn't come with the honeycomb backing but haven't really had any issues with it sliding.

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The lenses plus the right strap are a game changer! The honeycomb is on sale here so maybe the price will become more reasonable up there too.

      @BCBtheBeastlyBeast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just started using prescription lenses after using glasses with spacers or no glasses at all. Got delivered about 10 days before RE4 VR came out, the game I got the Quest 2 for. It was never as clear with glasses--made me appreciate the capabilities of the headset more. I couldn't use the default strap for more than a minute probably. Terrible. Got the regular M2 (no pro released back then). Instantly waaaaaaay better. I got it because I like PSVR's design. Battery life was an issue though, so my solution? Go to Best Buy, get a battery with a nice ratio of capacity to weight, and strap it to the top part of the headset with masking tape. It's light enough that I forget about it :P

    BoboVR M2 Pro ftw 😁👍 I bought one after I used the Quest original strap for about 10 minutes as it was so uncomfortable, now its relieved the pressure off the face it makes the Quest so much more fun to use (as well as the big kiwi grips 😉). Also recommend getting the VRCover facial interface replacement for some better face padding.

      @jaybratt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Bassquake76 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jaybratt Like night and day difference! I guess only real improvement it could have is a larger battery but then weight would be an issue. Do you know if you could plug a 10 or 20,000mA external battery pack in your pocket to the bobovr's battery port while playing?

    • @Keanine
      @Keanine 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know if it would be a problem for other people, but using my Oculus Elite Battery Strap I found that after playing an intense game the VRCover interface would get slippery and the Elite Strap would begin to slide. To fix it, I had to make it really tight but that ended up hurting my head after 20 minutes of playtime, which defeated the point of the extended battery. I went back to the stock interface and it mostly fixed the issue for me, although it's far less comfortable. All in all, if you have a better strap you probably won't have this issue but in my case it didn't work out

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have an elite battery strap from the batch after they supposedly fixed the issues, and it snapped yesterday. Support took about 20 minutes over their chat client and they setup a replacement for me, it arrived within 24 hours. This is in the UK by the way.
    I'm sure the third party straps are probably better but I was very impressed with the Oculus support, if only their quality control was as good there would be no issues. If I didn't already own one I probably wouldn't get one, but I do like knowing I have a product thats officially supported with good support if anything goes wrong. I personally prefer the M1 Pro over the M2 Pro. It stays on my head more securely, simpler to adjust, lighter weight, more balanced, and the lack of a forehead pad means less skin-contact resulting in a less sweaty forehead. I'd say for these two they're 'S' or 'A' rank depending on the person. Regardless of whatever you pick, a battery strap is essential not just to extend play time, but to make your play session comfortable and reduce the risk of injuring your neck.

    I just bought the BOBOVR m Pro, it fits okay, but for my headshape it takes a ton of finessing to get it to fit correctly because of the back.
    I hope to see someone make something similar to an umpire helmet: Make the forehead piece slightly fit more on top of the head to balance out the weight and just use the standard elastic strap for the back to get it perfectly snug without having to deal with everyone's Occipital bone placement being different.
    That's my biggest issue with Halo Headstraps, they're supposed to snug the bone, but for me, my head is really big and i cant get the back of the M2 Pro to reach because it doesnt pivot back there.

      Hi sweet! That depends which set you're asking about. The first set on the M1 pro is a set of psvr headphones the bionik mantis:
      th-cam.com/video/aZs-t8VejIY/w-d-xo.html
      The second set unfortunately isn't for sale anymore. They're PrettyGood3D off ear speakers:

      BoboVR is supposed to be launching their own audio solution this month so it might be worth holding out for that though 😊

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Are you using the stock interface with the silicone cover? That's often part of the problem because silicone is very slipper when even slightly wet from sweat. A PU leather one hangs on better to your face: th-cam.com/video/aRQog6SqE8I/w-d-xo.html along with that the kiwi interface is usually what I recommend because it's good about being comfortable and stable but if absolute stability is what you want you might try the Destek elite. My friend who tried all my straps before the kiwi was put really liked it because he wanted stability: th-cam.com/video/HOAKz__NFMA/w-d-xo.html

    • @derterraner4928
      @derterraner4928 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jaybratt Yes. It is actually the stock interface. I will check out your links and consider it.

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@derterraner4928 hope that helps! To test you could very briefly try the interface without the silicone and see if it's much more stable. Be cautious though that scratchy interface gave some people skin irritation but if you find it suddenly seems much better an interface may be your main answer.

    I just bought the quest 2 and right away I could tell the strap was terrible, at least for me! I loved the strap design of the playstation vr. The Bobo vr strap (halo style) with battery pack has the same ergonomics. So for me it was a no brainer and bought it as soon as possible. The other straps I even didn´t find worth to try it. Like the psvr the strap rests on my forehead without pushing te quest 2 against my face and supports nicely the back of my head. I love the battery hot swap.

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Bobo is the best! I'm with you, I had a psvr first and the quest 2 swap was hard until I found the right strap! I'm glad yours is better now 😊

    • @sveltin1975
      @sveltin1975 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      JayBratt it is. The strap with the battery compartment is so much better then the add on. Though the strap maybe is a little loser as the psvr, but comfort for me is a big deal. I guess too the Bobo is the best buy for most people, maybe not every one.

    what headphones you use on the bobovr m2 pro?

      The headphones are these ones: th-cam.com/video/Ks9Q_Z3UUog/w-d-xo.html although I think the seller stopped making them temporarily. Hopefully to launch a better set. These aren't amazing but I just really like the off ears for active gaming.

      Unfortunately they stopped making them: th-cam.com/video/Ks9Q_Z3UUog/w-d-xo.html I was hoping they'd offer a better set but it seems they're off the market for now. I'm testing a few other types of headphones soon so hopefully I can find something comparable.

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The weird thing is a lot of people who have it snap report it had been sitting for a while and they found it broken which makes me think it's more a matter of it drying out than just strap abuse. Speaking of I tried to actually break one by abuse and I couldn't do it: th-cam.com/video/jmCl2E-eyXQ/w-d-xo.html So I really think it's more about time and the plastic composite than the treatment.
