    I like that it only charges one way as I can literally just switch it around when charged so I don’t kill battery

    I purchased the Quest 3 version, and I’m very pleased with it. The swappable batteries are a game changer. Fits great on my head. The gear is still the same, but that doesn’t bother me. On sale now for $79 (I originally bought it for $99) No regrets.

      I was leaning towards getting the new S3 from bobovr But it's only one battery all be it 10K MAH but still like you said it's a game changer hot swapping 8K batteries so after watching this review and reading your comment I am really struggling to not buy this and have it in a couple days

    Totally agree. Really like the battery design however I would really be bugged by that dial too. Keeping an eye on this company however for if they do fix what you say I might be tempted to pick one up myself.

    I realize this post is relatively old. I bought this strap. Either you had a detective dial, or they fixed that issue. PS.... it completely charges my Quest 3 while i'm playing on it!!! 😎. All day use with the swappable batteries.

    Just got to watch this now, so I'm going to drop my personal experience here. I have the two Bobo battery straps and based on my testing, it seems that the M1 battery strap also has the same "looseness" with regards to the dial on the back on my unit. The M2 battery strap also has some looseness on mine, but not enough to easily move it as much as my M1 which seems to be as loose as the strap on this video. I think at the end of the day, this might be more due to unit variance since they probably just buy the internal mechanisms for these from a factory somewhere in China.

  • @ginsu85
    @ginsu85 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It seems the only upside to this over the BoboVR is the Battery Size, if BoboVR made a bigger battery Binbok would still lose to them. Hopefully they make the ratchet better because I at lease want to see how long I can run my quest off of it.

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That really is the only winning factor. They say 8-10 hours but the thing about either one is you really should get unlimited time as long as you're popping the other onto a dock as soon as you switch batteries.

    What if the gear sliding like that is a feature? Easy to put on maybe? As long as it doesnt slide open the same way it slides to close, may be an intentional feature?

    Have you tried the BoboVR M2 head strap yet? Just wondering if you've had a chance to compare it to the M1 strap and if you still prefer the M1 over the M2. Thanks!

    • @jaybratt
      @jaybratt  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I personally prefer Halo style straps like the M2 and even trying the M1 plus and M2 plus I usually choose the M2. I like the added stability for the M1 for active games but for long term comfort the M2 wins. I actually have another Quest 2 so what I do is:
      One headset used for VR fitness has the M1 Plus with a KKCOBVR Fan facial interface that blows in to cool you and gives it more contact area on your face.
      The main gaming headset has a M2 Plus with BoboVR F2 anti fog fan for those longer gaming sessions

    It looks like they are using the battery to add structure to the back of the head strap. I guess it allows them to save a little weight.
    7:40, I had someone ask about durability at CES so I gave it the old JayBratt bend test, got my heart rate going but the Kiwi battery/audio combo passed…lucky for me.

    0:48 Again one of those shapes that will push it up when you look skywards in VR... I wish there were more attemps with a W shape like the Bobo M1.
    0:59 Wow, that's solid!
    1:17 They learnt from the best!
    1:28 Great design, because that way you can leave the battery off in case you need comfort instead when leaning back or laying down
    2:05 In my case: ThE sTrUgGlE iS rEaL! But to be fair, I wouldn't want it to easily slip off by itself either. Don't have the audio yet (still not available here)
    3:34 Just like the original Elite... it pushes in by just looking at it.
    4:01 Who cares? The real question is: Can it pass through data for Link? Not that I would care personally, I just love my wireless experience too much, but that's often an issue with battery packs...
    6:41 You almost could be like "Please, someone take out the fries finally!" - even though it's not as good as driving a Viggen in the Danger Zone! :D
    7:36 Oh yeah, the Ponywalk Test :)
    7:56 PASSED! **stamp thonk**
    I agree they should improve on the gear, otherwise it really looks like a decent alternative to the Bobo M1+. Wasn't even aware that Bobo had an Elite style.

    None of these straps come with proper built in sound. I don't get it, as if these companies have never tried quest 2 before. There are already plenty of battery options, there are even on ear audio, but still no over ear+battery all in one.
    Let's hope for next generation of headsets, like Quest 3 and valve index 2, there will be proper accessories as needed.

    ive been thinking why isnt there a battery belt, like the point of an extra battery is so you dont have to be tethered to anything and can move freely, but people also complain about too much extra weight on their head and neck if its too big, so why has no one moved to off the head. strap a battery to your waist is even you upper arm with a slighly longer cord. maybe it ruins the convenience but it'd be a way to keep headsets light and also get probably longer lasting batteries.

    Those pivot points are deal killers. There's no balancing with that big ass battery as long as those pivots on the strap are there.
