Hey Jay, I just wanted to say that you and your entire team are killing it with these videos. You guys produce videos that are informative, consumer-focused, and well-produced. As to the production quality, the camera work, the editing, and even the set you use are high-quality and greatly contribute to the channel's quality. I've been in VR since 2016 and few VR TH-camrs maintain this focus, instead often falling into hype videos or fairly low-effort/quality content. It appears you & your team have rejected that approach and decided to build your numbers by producing substantive content that is actually useful to consumers. I've repeatedly seen you (fairly) criticize products and I frequently hear you explain to viewers to just wait until better products become available. Being candid and honest are important elements in maintaining credibility even if it might not garner as many clicks. What you're doing is investing in a long-term strategy to build the channel based on trust and credibility. Anyway, I just wanted to provide that feedback because I've been watching your stuff for a decent period and have noted the effort & integrity I see from both you and your team and felt it was worth acknowledging. Keep doing good things.
Quest 3 is literally like Mark Zuckerberg himself - a product On Life Support, it needs so many additional accessories/helps, with an overpriced tag, its all just a bluff. if there are better VRs out there, with no monopoly from meta, the strap on quest 3 wil get improved, battery issue will be no more, Mark Zuckerberg is just a clown ya'll. he learned so many things from China, he literally brought 'mad-in-China' standards into U.S. market, and think its ok to milk Americans.
The Quest 3 is so cool I wish I could get one but I did try lee’s the one thing I like about it is how big the lenses are and how you can move them so it not the annoying click ones
Oh, there's another solution that's better than the "hanging something over my neck" approach. lol I'll just stick to my ole trusty "pocket" battery and since I have two of them, I CAN swap one for another in the middle of playing though, I'll have to be doing one hell of a gaming session for the need to arise lol
I have the Bobovr M2 Pro headset on my Quest 2. I bought the Quest 3 on the day after it released and have to yet to be able to get the M3 Pro headset or the conversion kit. I too am waiting to see what will happen with the batteries though since watching one of your other videos addressing the concerns about discharge. In the meantime, I'll continue to use the stock strap, or maybe one of the other options you liked.
26:10 glad there's already something like this out. I don't have a Quest 3 but after experiencing neck pain with the Quest 2 and the extra weight of of Bobo M2 and extra battery, I would mostly prefer lightweight options like this. I have a pad from AMVR that I'm very happy with, and I was thinking of just getting a big and powerful battery to keep in my pocket to run the Quest 3 when I end up buying one.
I got to say I really appreciate your videos. I got my quest three a couple days ago & You've been helping me out a lot & this video absolutely takes the cake, I feel like I could get a nice overview of the accessories I'm going to want to get... Great video bro & I really appreciate all the time stamps and the organization. I'm definitely saving this to a playlist to come back to
this time around im def getting the silicone grips for cleaning reasons. cannot keep my quest 2 controllers clean for more than a couple days. should be able to give those silicone grips a nice full scrub down
I've bought the meta elite strap + battery. Even though it's very expensive, it's so convenient. I never run out of battery and I can plug the charger into the external battery and it charges both
@jaybratt it's definitely more convenient for people who just casually want to play VR vs having to deal with the hassle of charging headset and battery separately. It does mean slower charging of course though
I picked up the Elite Strap + Battery also. I had the Quest2 one also, and it feels pretty much the same! Besides the benefit you mentioned, you can also use the wireless dock and it will charge both the headset and elite strap at the same time which is really nice! The couple downsides with the elite strap: It got more expensive and they removed the case from the bundle! The Quest2 battery strap was 10 bucks less and had the 60-dollar case included with it. The other thing is that I wish they had done cable management better. The elite strap cable just sort of hangs there on the side and doesn't even have the sliding "clip" that the Quest2 elite strap had to hold it in place. Since most people will be managing the battery wire and possibly headphone wires, it would be nice if they had planned it out better, like a hidden cable tube inside it
I just modded my M2 pro to work on my quest 3 with Gomrvr adapter kit it even came with the black shiny dots and silicon pads that come with the M3 I couldn't be more pleased
AMVR did reach out to me and alerted me they're better for smaller/less wide hands so not everyone will have that issue. They're working on some other bigger options too.
This has been super helpful and more reliable than reading early Amazon reviews. Thanks! Would like to see more like this once the accessories improve.
Can't recommend enough... I sacrificed an official silicone face pad by tearing off the silicone and velcro'd the snot out of the frame and am using a vr cover pu face pad. It's a bit warm but man is it comfortable.
I find it funny how you can pretty much fully cover a q3 setup with silicone. Sucks that they won’t even deliver to my country any of the things from this video.
No, I'm using the blue stock style interface currently with a silicone cover that also includes the light blocker: amzn.to/3SHmyYc although I'm excited to try more actual interfaces as I don't love these silicone covers.
Hopefully we get a pu leather facial interface soon, that stock interface is terrible. My Bobovr m3 works great, does go through the batteries significantly faster then the quest 2 did though
just put away the Index, can't go back to ps2 graphics on a headset and a long chord after getting a Quest 3, I like the Elite strap with battery and the silicone facial interface along with wireless earbuds for the Quest 3
Another great and super helpful video!! I definitely find myself looking at the after market straps more than the Meta ones. One accessory I really want is knuckle straps.
I feel you there! There's a lot more launching so we'll be testing more head straps of course. I found a good set of grips here for now but same thing, a LOT more are coming if you'd rather wait and see us review a few more.
I'll be here for you :) We are potentially trying a new model where we review up to 5 accessories at once instead of one per video. Let me know what you think as a few more come out but I'm just finding we have so many accessories coming in it's hard to make a full video on each one so batching them might be nicer.
I got a kit with the silicon cover, girps, and face cover that I'm sending back. The front cover was almost the same as the one shown here and it just constantly fell off because it doesn't hold on very well at all (it did LOOK good with it on). The grips covered the sensors too much, and the face part just made my lenses fog a lot more. I'm looking at the grips shown in the video as I would like something more than just the strap at times. And maybe one of the face interfaces because the silicon one FELT nice but just fogged a lot.
I don't know what you think about 3D printed stuff but there is a facial interface that allows you to use VR cover pads that you can print it actually increases the FOV because it isn't as deep
Still waiting for my BoboVR M3 to arrive. I'll think about getting the APEXINNO hand straps. I do like being able to relax the group on my VR controllers every now and then.
Thanks for all the reviews. I just bought a iniu mini 22.5w battery pack and some velcro to attach it to the back of the standard strap as doesn't bother me. Will give it a a few months to wait for sales on accessories and battery headstraps as everthing is overpriced atm 😅 might budge on zyber as that can be had for £25 here.
You should only be slow charging the Quest 3's internal battery. Fast charging a small battery will more than halve its battery longevity. Fast charging is like pushing the fast forward button on your battery's lifespan. Slow charge your Quest 3, and use battery packs for longer play sessions. The swappable battery packs are amazing.
I modified the face on your face to accommodate for the BOBO cooling fan but it's pretty sloppy I can't believe nobody has a cooling fan or ventilated facial interface yet
Weird. I've never had an issue with my Quest 3 seating correctly in the dock. Never had to think about it at all it just works. I still think it's a bad deal because of the price and it recommends a 45w wall wart but doesn't come with one at all but the design and actual usage I've actually been super happy with. Waiting on my M3 Pro to come in so hopefully things don't change when I get that attached.
Fantastic video, I had a thought I wanted to ask you. Have you tried the BINBOK VR T3 Plus Head Strap to see if it can power the Quest 3 continuously? Xx
So far in testing they've all kind of sucked. It seems we need something amped to make the aux port sound good. Either that or wireless BT headphones that have their own ultra low latency dongle
I heard that the M3 Pro charges the Q3 while its also using its own battery, and the charging/discharging causes extra heat. Apparently the Elite Strap With Battery doesn't have this issue because it just uses the battery (until its depleted). Have you experienced this?
Highly recommend picking up a elite type strap if doing anything in simulators especially motion simulators it stays on much better when you go inverted
@@jaybratt awesome! Thanks for the answer. Love me some beat saber, I used to put gym weights on my wrists back when I was using VIVE. I do have the Pro controllers, so I'll see about getting the saber sticks.
I got those hand strap and that new head strap with biger bat and I want a headstrap that lets me pull the screens to my eyes. BINBOK VR Head Strap for Oculus/Meta Quest 3 had to get it from China
Thank you again for the recommendation videos. I finally have had a chance to test the RGEEK VR Face Pad that I picked up per your recommendation. It makes exercise and active games so much better! sweat dripping down my face and out of the way instead of turning the face pad into wet sandpaper! I look forward to future accessory reviews. Especially if you get a chance to review any new facial interfaces. Now I just have to decide if I wait for a better halo strap or just go with the BoboVR despite the battery limitations.
I do mention that briefly, it's just not here because I don't have one in hand, every Quest 3 I tested before launch had one on it and I really liked it! It is NOT CHEAP but it feels really nice, the silicone is great, it's built to the same specs as the stock one, and you end up with two including the stock one in case either breaks which is nice! I do like it: amzn.to/46SR1GZ
Nice one Jay. I can recommend the AMVR knuckle/active grips(not the silcone ones you have). They are the same design as the Meta active grips, but they are only $28 with free worldwide shipping.
@@jaybrattI have both quest 2 and quest 3 I just tested see if you can use the quest 2 as backup battery for quest 3 it looks like it works quest 3 says it changing when it is plugged into the quest 2 need more people to test it out to find out for sure
Cool video 👍 Surprised you didn't have ZyberVRs magnetic battery. Altho it now says its not compatible with Quest 3 I have one & it gives me 2 extra hours. Currently with discounts extra batteries are only £15 too 😏
I finally got my M3 ordered! It'll take 2 weeks to arrive, but thank goodness, as it's the last upgrade for my Q3 that I need! :) Also thanks for the video! Oh, also, I managed to handle the battery issues, but I'm running 3 in a rotation and it's been able to hold up over insanely long sessions (8 hours is my current record while rotating 3 batteries).
I just got the Bobo VR M2 M3 conversion kit. that big plastic thing that’s on your tip of your head hurts after a couple of minutes is there something I’m doing wrong?
Meta seems to have an issue with these charging docs. I find the Pro charging doc to be quite finicky as well. It feels like they strive for "looking cool" over actually being functional lol
My Pro dock worked pretty well for a while... And then completely crapped out!! I can charge the controllers with it but NEVER the headset. They actually replaced my whole pro between that and several other issues but it took a while
I was hoping to see the BINBOK headstrap in the review here as that's the elite style headstrap with batteries i've decided to go for (i didn't want to wait longer for kiwi design's).
To be honest right now I'd say Quest 3. The PSVR2 could be more worth it in the long run but as someone who owns both I rarely go through the effort of getting into my PSVR2, but I'm in my Quest 3 daily! It's just so easy to pick up, play and put down. The PSVR2 has just that much more of a barrier to entry that I don't bother as much. Barriers like: being wired, being only in one room of the house, the PS5 has to boot up, and other little things like that. I can pick up my Quest and be in a VR game in seconds, not minutes.
I have an original elite strap with battery for both the quest 2 and quest 3. I like it and have never had an issue with mine. I really want a better facial interface though as the stock one blows. save us VRCover! I would be more into a charging dock if they worked with the quest pro controllers and also charged the elite battery strap. since I know the pro controllers will be niche I dont ever expect that.
35:10 it’s fits you just have to tighten the strap all the way and take off the battery, just put the battery in the charging cable spot or by the controllers.
Amazon keeps receiving them and putting small quantities of them available each night around 12am Pacific time. They typically sell out after the updates in minutes :( I'm testing some 3D printed ones so people can either print or buy those cheap in the mean time.
The zipper on the meta case is horrible if you put anything bigger that you want to squeeze closed like the DAS or any Halo strap the zipper will separate under any pressure
i have read on reddit that a powerbank that charge while heavy gaming was one that is usbc outout 9v 2amp, so you need 9v to really charge that, same thing appened to my ps vita that required sony powerbrick because even with more amp no one of my phone charger has the rigth voltage
Thank you. Some stuff look interesting here. Question tho: I have a big battery bank with 100w power output. Obviously the q3 won't take 100w (pretty sure), but if that was in my back pocket and I had the bobo strap and some cable management, would that keep the headset from discharging or would it still be like everything else we've seen battery wise?
After seeing the video about the battery issue, I ordered a power brick and some decent cables myself to see how it pans out. I don't get to play for hours a day, but I'd like to be able to not worry if I do get a chance to play for more than a couple hours.
i think part of the battery issues is that the quest has been detected pulling up to 40w when in load, and most external batteries cant really handle that, so that's a lot closer to laptop charging external batteries
you need to take amp hours (or mah) and multiply it by the voltage to get the actual watt-hour capacity of the batteries. like a 2Ah AA battery * 1.5 volts = 3 Watt hours. for the controller batteries it would be: 167 * voltage / 1000 = Watt hours
Q3 charging dock is way easier to line up with plain headset than the Q Pro was. This may change once the M3 Pro strap becomes available (changing the weight distribution), but right now the Meta dock works great for me.
I don't have issues with my dock with the headset, but sometimes my controllers will shift slightly and stop charging but my headset hasn't had any issues like that
the Bobo halo strap at 6:50 is still worth it, you just gotta put the quest 3 into battery saving mode with the latest update to the headset and setting it to 72 hertz
That makes me sad, we shouldn't have to use a state of the art headset at 72hz. For VR Vets that's ok but for noobs that's gonna increase the chances of getting sick a LOT
@@jaybratt VR Essentials had his quest 3 die on him and he had to set his at that since 90 hertz on air link is a no go. Since then he had to use the line for his headset
I’m new to VR and use my quest 3 primarily for exercise. I want a new strap to reduce face pressure but am concerned the bobovr may be a bit heavy and hot with the halo touching my forehead. I see the newer bobovr strap has an air conditioner but is more expensive and concerned it will make too much noise. Thoughts?
Excellent video Jay. I’m hoping Bobovr will make a Headstrap like the Pro Headstrap that blocks the top gap of the M2 Plus. I’m just so used to using my Quest Pro and like the no facial contact.
I’m one of the few people that the stock strap is plenty comfy. Maybe it’s because I’m bald and I have a normal round head lol. But I’m holding out for the halo style with an updated battery! What’s the scoop on that?

I don't know what you think about 3D printed stuff but there is a facial interface that allows you to use VR cover pads that you can print it actually increases the FOV because it isn't as deep
Wow what an insightful and well-detailed video! Hits all the key points of every accessory. Great quality too!
Saved me typing the exact same sentence.
Why isn't there any cooling fan anti-fogging for the Quest 3? They only have it for the Quest 2.
It's too new. Companies are working on it but they have to get a functioning facial interface replacement first. Should come soon :)
Hello have a good video idea
The idea is like 20-25 best quest game
Still waiting for my BoboVR M3 to arrive.
I'll think about getting the APEXINNO hand straps. I do like being able to relax the group on my VR controllers every now and then.
Will the M3 Pro I got for my quest 2 work with the quest 3 or is it different
This.
BoboVR needs to release a Q3 Facial gasket to use w/ their Active Air Vent - One that brings your eyes closer to the lenses.
I modified the face on your face to accommodate for the BOBO cooling fan but it's pretty sloppy I can't believe nobody has a cooling fan or ventilated facial interface yet
Does BoboVR fit inside the original Meta Quest 3 Case ?
Does the ZyberVR elite strap fits to the original carry case?
We need extended controller grips like the QE extended ones but that will also work in the OEM dock
Xx
These are my favorite videos and I’ve waited so long and it’s finally here 😊
Do you know like any headphones for it
So far in testing they've all kind of sucked.
What an in-depth video with time taken to review each accessory. Very well put together thank you
Highly recommend picking up a elite type strap if doing anything in simulators especially motion simulators it stays on much better when you go inverted
Thanks for the video! Too bad the saber handles didn't work out, do you think they'd work with Quest Pro controllers?
They do with the pro controllers at least. They do their own tracking so you can get away with a lot with them
@@jaybratt awesome! Thanks for the answer. Love me some beat saber, I used to put gym weights on my wrists back when I was using VIVE. I do have the Pro controllers, so I'll see about getting the saber sticks.
yo sup jaybratt again
@@JuliannaReyes-iw8yp yo 👋😊
I got those hand strap and that new head strap with biger bat and I want a headstrap that lets me pull the screens to my eyes. BINBOK VR Head Strap for Oculus/Meta Quest 3 had to get it from China
@jaybratt which grips are you using now?
Currently these are still my favorite: amzn.to/3G3Eg0E although I haven't received the Meta ones like this yet to try.
Thank you so much for the tips they all helped me a lot especially the first one. Again thank you you so much 🙏🙏
Thank you again for the recommendation videos.
So what about Meta's silicone facial interface?
I do mention that briefly, it's just not here because I don't have one in hand, every Quest 3 I tested before launch had one on it and I really liked it! It is NOT CHEAP but it feels really nice, the silicone is great, it's built to the same specs as the stock one, and you end up with two including the stock one in case either breaks which is nice! I do like it: amzn.to/46SR1GZ
Nice one Jay. I can recommend the AMVR knuckle/active grips(not the silcone ones you have). They are the same design as the Meta active grips, but they are only $28 with free worldwide shipping.
How do the bobovr batteries do when you have the extended battery setting activated?
he looks very intimidating with a katana
😂 that was actually gifted to me by one of you just for unboxings!! Showed up two Christmases ago as an anonymous Amazon gift
@@jaybrattI have both quest 2 and quest 3 I just tested see if you can use the quest 2 as backup battery for quest 3 it looks like it works quest 3 says it changing when it is plugged into the quest 2 need more people to test it out to find out for sure
Except he keeps unsheathing it with the sharp edge towards his face. Not too clever
@@MiaogisTeas I've only sliced my face like 10 times now! 😂
They actually replaced my whole pro between that and several other issues but it took a while
Holy shit, this guy is doing god's work, I can't believe I watched this for 39 minutes straight, absolutely hooked dude. Keep it up!!
I was hoping to see the BINBOK headstrap in the review here as that's the elite style headstrap with batteries i've decided to go for (i didn't want to wait longer for kiwi design's).
Razr Plus gang lesgoooooo! Haha. It's so good.
But I wonder, lots of times I take pictures and they just don't save. That ever happen to you?
Thank you for this video I'm planning to buy one and this is amazing you're saving me a lot of money I'll be sure to buy using your links
I actually did break my facial interface trying to remove it 💀
Will you still check out the Binbok elite head strap with battery pack? I think it’s comfortable and extends the time to play the Quest 3
Can you please help me decide between the Quest 3 and the PSVR2 with one to buy? I have a PS5.
@@jaybratt thank you
I have both and barely touch my PS VR 2. The Quest 3 is great.
The elite strap are supposed to real in when you push it. It’s so you don’t have to crank it all the way closed
And then there's bunch Quest 2 accessories that support Q3 too like Bobovr C2 case
Looking forward to buying my first own headset! Videos like yours help deciding what you need additionally, for comfort or experience! Thanks.
I put my strap on the Quest upside-down on video too. Don't feel bad. 😂
Dang "Strap On" issues!!!
:D
@@jaybratt Ha ha! I knew you were gonna say that! 🤣
35:10 it’s fits you just have to tighten the strap all the way and take off the battery, just put the battery in the charging cable spot or by the controllers.
you should probably try the BOBOVR s3 strap (i dont have one yet but heard it is good)
@@Yeepsverse yeah this video was long before it's inception: th-cam.com/video/Ob_bTddJzRk/w-d-xo.html
@@jaybratt do you think I should for sure get it or a better head strap for under $170 USD
The mother load of Quest 3 accessories 😲 it's buy whatever is first to market, or wait for more proven products 🤔
I love my AMVR grips..
Do you have any update on exactly when the BoBoVrs will be available?
Amazon keeps receiving them and putting small quantities of them available each night around 12am Pacific time. They typically sell out after the updates in minutes :( I'm testing some 3D printed ones so people can either print or buy those cheap in the mean time.
OK good news thanks!@@jaybratt
The zipper on the meta case is horrible if you put anything bigger that you want to squeeze closed like the DAS or any Halo strap the zipper will separate under any pressure
Oh my gosh. The colored facial interfaces are fun
i have read on reddit that a powerbank that charge while heavy gaming was one that is usbc outout 9v 2amp, so you need 9v to really charge that, same thing appened to my ps vita that required sony powerbrick because even with more amp no one of my phone charger has the rigth voltage
Thank you. Some stuff look interesting here. Question tho:
I have a big battery bank with 100w power output.
Very much enjoyed the Mickey Mouse voice at 29:20 😂
Haha that's a terrible thing I do I should probably stop :D
you need to take amp hours (or mah) and multiply it by the voltage to get the actual watt-hour capacity of the batteries.
like a 2Ah AA battery * 1.5 volts = 3 Watt hours.
for the controller batteries it would be: 167 * voltage / 1000 = Watt hours
Get the bobovr carrying case!
I have it and it's still my top case atm. I do like these Aubika ones too though: th-cam.com/video/Ypxex_C3ezk/w-d-xo.html
With the elite strap, I added the 'studioform' comfort top strap and rear 100g counter weight (from my G2) and find it very comfortable.
I ordered mine and got a MR3 on the way too.
Thoughts?
Thank you so much for something as in depth as this
Hey man, great content. Though anything on audio accessories? Modifying Bobovr A2 or some other third party ones
4:16 did you just folded your phone 😳 🤨
Sure did... just folded it in half once and it's done it ever since :D
*This is a joke, DO NOT try at home!*
Surprised no kiwi
