Notice the launch and how he stays in it...The front tire pogo's all the way till third gear...Rickey is a True master of the drag. Way to go rickey...way to go Kawa.
@AscensionVisuals In theory but if you want to keep the bike from wheeling and loosing ET, you have to keep a large portion of your upper body over the tank for as long as you can. This becomes easier with your feet extended out.
i remember reading an article in a mag that was testing the 2010 zx6r and it got 9.9 in the 1/4 mile with about the same basic mods, im not hating on kawi i LOVE these bikes, jus saying ;)
Cycleworld, I have a 2011 zx10r with factory gearing that I drag pretty often and it does take alot to get it rolling, my clutches aren't damaged yet because it's still lifting the front tire, would changing my gearing to a low setting like 16-41 save my clutches?
@FrankaDith On a drag busa? faster usually. But...most grudge racers use liter bikes...mainly because the acceleration is pretty even at that level. Especially when you start turboing bikes. For a turbo 1k you might need 3 more psi to match a turbo busa. Busa's have more power...but are also heavier...So, most of the time, a dialed in liter bike can hold its own against a busa on the strip.
Everybody screams oem kawi frictions and steels but I'm trying ARE Trac Kings when they show up. Schnitz runs them in his fast bikes. 161 is what I paid with shipping. They are listed on Schnitz Racing as KG Factory clutch but it's pretty much OEM from what I've researched just half the cost. if your dragging then buy 2 sets and keep a spare. I got around 2,000 miles out of my clutch with about 60-70 strip passes and a billion rolling burnouts and street races.
So after he went from the 17/39 to a 16/41, he was able to go faster. Does that mean he gained acceleration but lost top end speed or, he gained top end speed and lost some acceleration? Guessing he gained acceleration and lost top end speed cause top end doesn't matter in a 1/4mile race anyway. Guess I answered my own question lol. Which sprocket set up would increase top end speed though? Can anybody tell me that?
I'm not a drag racer so excuse me for the lack of knowledge on this comment; Wouldn't it be better to bring your feet up the moment the clutch is all the way out? It just seems like keeping your legs out that long would risk changing the dispersal of gravity on the whole-shot. Like I said, though, I'm no drag racer so there's probably more reason behind it than I can think of.
Thanks for being a pro for Kawasaki I had a 2 stroke street bike so long a ago I won every time I raced but was not mean''''' t to be I joined navy flew airplane and now to old to road race thanks kawasaki ricky gadson you/ tube
Dog I know you are not trying say that drag racing takes more skill than moto gp . Does drag racing draw 120 ,000 people crowds ?like moto gp if not for moto gp your drag (queen) racing sport wouldn't even have bike to race. Rossi takes corners at speeds your drag racers go in a straight line with his knee out .Rossi is a world class road racing god ...you boy would get his ass busted wide open if tried moto gp...Drag races are over in seconds moto gp races are hour plus long with 20 riders all
@ mattprs3 i dont think i see mike geer with 9 world titles i know rickey gadson personly and he is one of the best at what he does he isnt were he is today because he sucks!! once you 9 world titles under you belt then you can dog the best of the best!! and for your shortwheel base challenge you got going on here lets run and dont cry when you get your ass handed to you ohh btw im rocking a 2011 zx10 with brocks slip on bike strap springs spacers ecu mod 202hp at the rear wheel.
@kidsolo36 Rickey would STOMP the vast majority of riders around a circuit. Once again...for all you moto gp boys that act like drag racing is a ham fisted, no finesse, & easy task...Think again. Rickey Races for CONSISTENCY & SPEED(Look up ET racing...its about 3 hells of a lot harder than you think.)
Gadson is unquestionably the man
Notice the launch and how he stays in it...The front tire pogo's all the way till third gear...Rickey is a True master of the drag.
Way to go rickey...way to go Kawa.
@Drack19919 The name of the song is- Warrior Anthem, artist is arzekareem, purchased from audiojungle
All I gotta say is whatever Godson does imitate it and don't question it lol

Gadson is a badass, he got a 10.3 on an 05 (or 06?) zx6r 636.
The tag reader app is awesome. Watching video of the story in a magazine. What an age we live in

@MikeW259 Thank you, you make a lot of sense and seem well informed i appreciate it .
Real legend....
going up on the front and down on the back has more top end down in the front and up in the back has more acceleration

does removing the restrictor plate hurt the engine? for every day riding? and if you have a power commander does it need to be re maped.
yamabushisama you're still waiting for a response. Lol
Yes
Which clutch did they put back in the zx10? Just curious, cause I'm needing to replace mine now after some passes on the strip. Thanks.
