Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood I come watch this video. I remember thinking how fast lap one was... then I see you on lap 3 or 4 and I'm like damn lap one was slow!
This video made me run to Kawasaki and buy a brand new ZX10R great riding bro .. I hope u can tell us more about the modifications u blessed the bike with
I absolutely LOVE this vid. Its so rare to have footage of dudes on another level. You can see and hear that you completely geled with that bike, popping the front up on the crests its like bread and butter, and the fact that your in inters passing bods like that just adds to the complete abuse of the track that the vid portrays. Cant help but watch with a little envy, knowing that will never be me. But luckily, theres enjoyment at every level ;) Happy dayz! Ps what tyres you on ;)
Sure we ain't onboard with Shakey Byrne!? Great video, proper quick riding there, superb to watch. The year is 2022, I'm just digging back through Gen4 ZX10R vids, as I'm very close to selling my 2018 MT-10 and pulling the trigger on a 1 owner immaculate 2015 10R with 3k on the clock. I think this video might have sealed the deal for me. Brilliant stuff 👏🏻
You are awesome, just awesome. that bike is so quick and i doubt anyone could go round much faster on a race day. At first i thought the speed difference was dangerous but i could see you know exactly where everyone was going so you just danced around them..reminded me of the ward and becket side car team, they used to go around snetterton half as fast again as the rest. I think you actually lapped one bike twice in the same lap!!! super bike and well ridden. nice one son...
you are a beast on that track man , i am still trying to get use to track days on my cbr1000rr . i hope to get as good as you one day , what ever some of these trolls say dont pay attention to them .just remember the speedometer keeps going up and life continues .
Salve salve Ruyzera, MotoLinKTube, VIm atraves de vc aqui no video, Showw d+ a pilotagem e q cara loko o pneu nen ta aquecido e ele forçando tudo nas curvas,O cara manjaa.
i was in the same group Lee came past me loads of times and tbh it didnt bother me one bit as it was allways clean and friggin quick and wasnt a danger to anyone.
Great riding man!! Have you got a quickshifter on the bike?? Sounds like that gear box is taking a hammering. Great how we can change from road to race mode on the dash aye lol.. go the mighty kwaka
I've been there, done that. Heck, I didn't even know I was quick there since it was my first session at the track, figuring I'd end up halfway up the intermediate group. In the second session I passed three bikes in a 125mph corner. Went straight to the organiser after that (and started getting passed in the expert group... haha)
I would really appreciate if you tell me what was the gear ratio (sprockets). I've got the same bike. Also I've noticed a superquick downshifting. Is it clutch less?
Is your bike only set up for the track or do you street it as well? I was trying to get an impression on whether it's the type of bike that can accomplish both with minimal changes.
What sort of mount were you using for your GoPro? I'd love to mount mine on my triple instead of the helmet, but the suction pad is too big (and I don't really trust it)...
Can I ask you a question? I ride an 07 r6, but I notice you changing gears in the turns I always thought and was told not to do that, is there a real fineness to it?
You've got that ZX10R singing nicely Lee, well impressive. Those lap times are very very quick aswell, you would win quite a few races at that pace. Just ot of interest what is your best lap round Oulton (I've never done Oulton , but would love to ) ?
That is some seriously impressive riding. It looks like all the other riders are going backwards! Is that a standard road bike? How come the speedo isn't displayed...can you turn it of in sport mode or something? I've been considering px'ing my GSXR1000 for one of these and i think you've just made my mind up for me!.....great vid
Which tyres you are using? And how are you keeping the bike in lane with opening the throttle so much that the front wheel is going up BUT the back wheel doesnt flip away...
Lee anything in the works for 2014? I would be shocked to not hear something before silly season, but I know that will be the latest too good a rider. I have know Lee are you blipping that throttle or are you just letting the slipper sort it out? a auto blipper perhaps lol and is so, as a gen 4 10r owner where the hell did you get one lol
google his name he's a pro racer. great riding non the less. yes the bike has a stock damper but its barely good enough for street let alone the track. dash is "superbike inspired" . excellent downshifts wow! wish i could see the tc bar also :(
No, this is in INTER group - we booked via easytrack.co.uk and they messed up the whole day, Lee paid 5 times online and they said he wasn't able to go out on track as the payment had not been confirmed...then they gave him a half day pass and put him out in the inter group. I booked under the advanced group and was put in the rookie group for the first 3 sessions...Not the best but what can you do.
Is the INTER group the same as "the rookie group"? You should film this again when the advanced group is out there. This appears to be apples vs oranges.
Yeah, but you notice that right at 4:00 he anticipates the riders not being as aware of him as he is of them. Brakes hard to avoid cutting inside someone who is less experienced. He was on the ball, riding fast but safely.
I have a question. is there a way to remove the limiter in 6 gear? im not asking because i want to go mad on the motorway. i would like to down gear. and fear i cant without loosing a fait bit of top speed :p
Don't try and make out its stock bike! Gears are so close together....ie track gearing, you have the pc USB strapped to the dash so obviously running so sort of upgraded software? However what does it matter your a class....class ride and not 1 of the overtakes we're risky and it's beautiful to see a man completely at ease with his motorbike. Good luck keep it up pal!
Oops. I meant to upvote you not downvote. and it won't let me change >: ( Anyway, I've got my license but I haven't bought my first bike yet. I'll bow to your authority on it :P
We just used the standard suction mount onto the tank but gaffa taped the shit out of it. I dont trust it either, always tie it onto something so that if it does fail your camera will be safe!
Insane! But not as nuts as what you and that bike doing in novice group. Nice to see a ZX10R being used as its maker intended. That thing is intense! can't believe that's a street bike.
Can someone please get me a breakdown of what performance modifications were done to this bike..? I know 90% of that is rider-ability, but the power and the handling were outstanding, and I want to do that for my new bike too (just bought a (still brand new) 2013 ZX-10R last week)!!! Thanks
+n7hevn Apart from the regular exhaust, ecu flash, etc., the biggest modification was obviously race compound tires and he re-geared the bike substantially (probably a -1, +2 or similar). Most other liter bikes at this track barely get through 4th gear on that front straight and he's knocking it in to the top of 6th. So he's got better acceleration and the grip to handle it out of the corners that makes it super quick. He might have lowered the front a bit to get the better turn-in agility as well. I do this same type of setup for short tracks on my R6; completely changes a bike's character.
+Moto Mott Mott, I do honestly appreciate the insight you've supplied, and the time you have taken to provide your input, but I encourage you to check out someone's channel when / before replying. Those (most of) items you noted are all quite obvious/basic things that we can safely assume, for anyone with appropriate track knowledge, and the performance modifications that anyone who is setting up a track/race bike would pursue. Please check out my channel, I'm no track slouch. I was really hopeful our video post-er here, would have replied, but unfortunately not... ;)
The bike was stock engine, with power commander. Ohlins rear shock and 30mm cartridge kit in the forks. Gearing was 16-39 or 16-40 if memory serves me right. Metzeler racetec tyres and an akrapovic Evo system. Brakes etc 😊
+lee costello ....thank you Lee for the information, but I needed this information 11 months ago, when my comment was posted. Doesn't do me any benefit now.
+HeavyHitter5150 ...and that's not the point! This is NOT his channel (as it appears by the Channel name we are currently on, and that 'Lee Costello' is the TH-cam Member who now replied), so the original posting person, could have helped out ELEVEN MONTHS ago; when I was in the market to get my brand newly purchased ZX-10, track-ready, then! I already have done EVERYTHING that Lee has advised, that was done to his bike. So, as stated, this now current reply, so significantly later, has provided me NO benefit; though, as I stated a Thank You.... So, 'HeavyHitter', go take a hike, and my your own F'n business, you road-racing no-talent jag-off!!!
Yeah you dont see riding like that unless they do it for a living. I would love to know how you learn to ride like that without it costing you an arm and a leg (literally) Im always pushing my boundaries but im still slow as shit and always busting myself up. Any info or advise would be seriosly welcomed ;)

Someone is definitely in the wrong group :)
Dmytrii Nagirniak Definitely needs to go to inters.
I've been i n the wrong group before but on;ly because the others have been booked up!
This video made me run to Kawasaki and buy a brand new ZX10R
great riding bro .. I hope u can tell us more about the modifications u blessed the bike with
Just bought a 2015 ZX10...im getting on the track very soon especially after watching this 😮

One word comes to mind... Savage! Both Rider and bike.
Bike is standard 2011 ZX10R with akrapovic evolution race system and HM Quickshifter. Downshifts are by me, dash is standard :)
Wow you can see the benefit of rider aids... the electronics package on the 10 is awesome.
Some of those guys probably got back to the pits and wanted to report a UFO!
That is some beast mode riding, right there! Nice job out there!
Awesome riding, you sir have great skill!

i struggle to do a 1'59'' round there.
mid 40's ? looks like inters group trophy hunting !!!!!!
Zx10r is beast !!!! Nice riding ...

Great video!
How did you fix your camera?
Thank you!
Awesome riding do you race? if not you should! what exhaust and quick shifter do you have?
I would really appreciate if you tell me what was the gear ratio (sprockets). I've got the same bike.
Also I've noticed a superquick downshifting. Is it clutch less?
Hi Lee, just wondering which GoPro you used to film this as sound and picture quality is very good indeed. Was it the latest GoPro Hero 3? Cheers.
Cozzy is a quality rider, enjoyed that
Is your bike only set up for the track or do you street it as well? I was trying to get an impression on whether it's the type of bike that can accomplish both with minimal changes.
i love that speedo! i dont know if anyone has asked yet i looked through some comments but didnt see anything, where did you get it? persay.
What sort of mount were you using for your GoPro? I'd love to mount mine on my triple instead of the helmet, but the suction pad is too big (and I don't really trust it)...
Amazing riding. What gearing were you using. Are you still riding on track?
the conditions don't look that great, but the bike and riding does! :D
awesome ride dude...
Can I ask you a question? I ride an 07 r6, but I notice you changing gears in the turns I always thought and was told not to do that, is there a real fineness to it?
Dangerous riding in this slow group. Was it open pit lane or something?
Awesome stuff mate..
You've got that ZX10R singing nicely Lee, well impressive. Those lap times are very very quick aswell, you would win quite a few races at that pace. Just ot of interest what is your best lap round Oulton (I've never done Oulton , but would love to ) ?

Try moving up a group or 3 lol
Just wanted to know if your zx10r vibrates on the clip ons pass 5000 rpm? Is it a zx10r trait?
Which tyres you are using? And how are you keeping the bike in lane with opening the throttle so much that the front wheel is going up BUT the back wheel doesnt flip away...
Is this bike standard? What mods are on here? Quick shifter? Thanks
wow your so fast and good...really a pro dude.....
very good racing bro
VERY NICE RIDE !!!!!!
Second time watching the video, great riding sir. Makes me love my zx10r even more. Is it the stock gearing?
Wow, amazing talent.
Like taking candy from a baby- I used to love those days
Lee anything in the works for 2014? I would be shocked to not hear something before silly season, but I know that will be the latest too good a rider. or is it a tach? i ride rollerblades so im not too sure.
Lee what gearing are you using for Oulton if you don't mind me asking?
in your point, what bike is better, zx10r or s1000rr?
Is it the stock transmission ? Seems very short geared ! Nice !
well done pro, kind to share what gearing u used (you can pm me).
How many years of experience before you drove like this?
equiped with quickshifter?
Yea, love the touch of the wheelie as he goes by. lolz
some short gearing on her!?
What's the gearing on the bike?
Are u riding with tcs?
Would luv to move that line covering the traction control bar thing to see how much it's intervening
which tire?
@ 6:00 LUCKY GUY YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is the INTER group the same as "the rookie group"? You should film this again when the advanced group is out there. This appears to be apples vs oranges.
King of the Ring !!!
Nice to look at this Driver :)
Very nice. Damn fast!
Yeah, but you notice that right at 4:00 he anticipates the riders not being as aware of him as he is of them. Brakes hard to avoid cutting inside someone who is less experienced. He was on the ball, riding fast but safely.

Probably Flash the Ecu and a remap?
Yep, Woolich ECU flash (and others) allows you to remove the top speed limiter.
Beautiful 🔥🔥🔥

that was sick, splitting them at 1:38
That my friends is how it is done.
If you have good eyes you can see that the traction control is on. The wheelie control on the new ZX10R is amazing.
That was a great vid
06:35 wow! perfect riding
I see the traction control activated way too many time and is slowing him down coming out the corner... just notice when the rpm dips
How can he keep the bike stand downshifting like this!!!
Your name isn't TOM Sykes is it lol, you are one awesome rider
Oops. I meant to upvote you not downvote. and it won't let me change >: ( Anyway, I've got my license but I haven't bought my first bike yet. I'll bow to your authority on it :P
That tachometer is hypnotizing...
We just used the standard suction mount onto the tank but gaffa taped the shit out of it.
I dont trust it either, always tie it onto something so that if it does fail your camera will be safe!
