- It's a versatile haircut that allows for loads of different styles. Quiffed, pomped or slicked back, the modern gentleman's cut can do it all.
My stylist, Mark uses a variety of combs to get a short and neat back and sides of my hair. He then uses a number one guard on clippers to the bottom of my hairline.
For the top, Mark uses scissors to take off the ends, whilst keeping my hair long and thick.

Robin you remind me so much of my friend Josh. He had piercing blue eyes like you and similar facial structure, mannerisms, and he cared very much about his hair. I once gave him a horrible haircut when we were kids - he looked like johnny Depp's willy wonka🤦♂️ but Josh passed away a few years ago now and it's been a delight to watch you, I think he would have loved you.

I could've gone down my local barbers and they wouldn't have managed to do this. So I stayrd at home and did it myself, took nearly a whole hour but I did it and I'm well chuffed. Who said you need a piece of paper to cut hair.

Hey Robin! I think I'm looking for a haircut similar to this, but I don't think I have the right hair for it. My hair right now is very thick but about 3/4ths of an inch long (I can send you a picture to judge if you need to see it). I have no idea which way to go (since I've gotten the same haircut every time), and I was hoping you could help. Should I go for this Modern Gentleman's cut, or wait and grow my hair out longer? Many thanks! (Oh, I've never gotten a haircut from the barber's so I'm not sure how much it'll cost)

Quick question, what is the difference between a short back and sides with long on top, and a faded hair cut? In my eyes they seem very similar.
Nathan Hicks I think for this hairstyle, Robin's sides are clippered(the sides are cut with 2grades e.g. 1,2) instead of the fade in a fade cut.

Good technique but the clipper over comb is a cop out for a short-cut. You still have a messy hard line and overall I wouldn't pay for that.

Coulda got the sides bald faded + a bit shorter/ less loose hanging on top, feel like the barber used some weird and quick job techniques but still it looks aite

Robin James Yes obviously we all look different otherwise that would be wierd, but models have UNIQUE faces that you don't see in your local suprmarket. Im not saying this to be rude, but being a model isn't just having good hair, you actually need a UNIQUE handsome face to go along with it
