So when you said to him, "this is the worse haircut I've ever gotten," I was thinking "omg, that is so rude to say to someone." Haha! I'm glad it was the guy who ended up fixing your hair. Wtf, I would tell someone straight up if they messed up! I don't give a shit. If a barber doesn't understand they should ask to get a definite answer of what the customer wants

I know how it feels to get a bad haircut, the exact same "shave off" on the side happened to me about a year ago, I found that it's better to stick with your regular barber that understands you. Great video!

facelift try to find a barber that you trust mate
facelift I was in the same position, I had a barber cut my hair for about a year, the blending was terrible and the disconnect was waaaay too high up. I grew it all out for 3-4 months and searched everywhere for a good barber, I found one and they cut it perfectly, while fixing all of the issues in the process
Just imagine cutting some guys hair and seeing him post this video 😂

Theres a place near me called True Gentz that gives high quality hair cuts for 14 dollars. The thing is theres always an hour plus wait to get you hair cut.

I'm blind as a mole with my spectacles off so when I'm in the chair it's 100% trust with my stylist.
I think the moral of the story is to not to cheat on your stylist. XD

Been growing my top out for a sort of pomp/pushed back thing. Asked to NOT touch the top and just fade the sides but don't go too high. I ended up with an undercut lol... Some barbers baffle me with their inability to listen.
Did you tell him it's not what you wanted?
Didn't end up saying anything because it was a clean fade LOL, but it was disconnected which I didn't want.

I've had the same happen a few times, show them pictures and they still do something completely different. I think it takes two miracles to be classed as a saint so Dom the barber is halfway there 😂

That happened to me. About 7 months ago I asked for a fade and for the barber to keep it disconnected on both sides. Then the barber started cutting off tons of length on the top to make it blended on one side, so I had like 3inches of hair on one side and 6inches on the other side😭
Eek! It's so awful when it happens. It happens to the best of us.
1 thing I have learnt, never ever ever trust a brand new barber with a skin fade. That is a big no!! The number of times I’ve done this and never learnt. Only once did I come across a barber who went you know what mate, I cant do skin fades. And I said fair play thank you for being honest!!! Not everyone is like that and they will just do it knowing full well they have absolutely know idea what they are doing!

Terry Chan he basically took the bulk of the hair from the back of his head because there was a big patch and basically they faded the sides and cut the patch.

Nothing gets me more heated or ruins my day than a bad haircut. So glad I finally found a good barber after years of searching.
I need your help, I've tried so many different types of products on my hair, and I get decent volume, but when I do things such as run or even walk too fast it sort of flops down. I don't know what product i should use, but I want it to stand up all day, and not be too shiny. My hair is about 3.5 inches on the top and about 1 inch on the sides. It's very thick, too

I totally get what you're going through! A barber also cut way too high on my sides as well. Is the only way to fix it by growing the top segment of our sides (that shouldn't have been cut off) back to the same length as the top of our hair?

Also happened to me once too... I felt so bad, the line was too high. Luckily there was my brother to tell me that hair grows back😂
Dom is the MAN ... I know what it's like to get a bad cut, I went into a new barbers in town (Sunderland) and asked for an undercut. He didn't do a fade, he just, literally, shaved a no guard clipper on the lowest setting and shaved both sides and back of my head. I had to ask him to stop. I had to wait for my hair to grow out and go to my usual barber to tidy it up for me. I will never change my barber again.
Hey David, this sounds like quite the ordeal. It seems that so many of us have had experiences like this.
It takes a few tries to find a barber you like and trust. We all go through stuff like this. It is par for the course.

i recently moved to another city, and the first time i decided to get my haircut in this new city instead of going all the way back home, they did EXACTLY the same thing, cut way to high and didnt fade whatsoever. I was so upset. i love watching your videos, yourre awesome
I so understand what you went through. When I moved from my native place to another for work, I was worried that how will I get me hair done now coz my guy at my native place had been doing my hair for over 10 years. I went through the same phase of bad haircuts thinking that the barber knows best coz it is his job but then I realized that I need to say something if I do not feel it is going the right way. I got an absolutely horrible cut two weeks ago. For example, I told the barber not to use thinning shears and he went crazy with them
I went to someone else to get it fixed and she did a great job. But now I'm stuck with hair that's too short and too thinned out. Just waiting for it to grow.
Lesson learned.
It's a hard lesson. I'm so against thinning scissors on my hair too!
I had the same issue, mine is just worst, because its not just the other side. Its BOTH sides, I cant get rid of it cause the cut is too high.

I live to fix bad haircuts. It only really matters to the clients feelings after the cut if he or she really likes it. Glad you feeling better!

I've had worse. My line on the side was taken waaaayy to far up so I need to regrow some of my "top" from basically nothing. It's taken me like 3 months and I have nowhere near grown it back to the length I want it.

This happened to me twice. Once turned out horrible and I almost had to shave my head and the other time I just had to feel humiliated, or wear a hat til it grew out again.
