Last year I accidentally shaved my head. I thought it sucked at first but I got a new hairstyle. I think all those things kinda do happen for a reason
You should see my hair history...that goes back to the 1950's!! I've worn it all! LOL. Love this Robin, simply super wonderful. Bravo.

Happy belated birthday Robin! Time flies so fast. I remember when ya had your quiff. I noticed that your pictures weren't just of your hair growth, but your emotional growth. The really young pictures feature an unsure Robin, but by the end I got the vibe of someone who's comfortable in their own skin and is full of life and confidence! I really look up to ya, and was wondering any books, movies, quotes, specific moments, or role models that played a significant role in shaping who you are today.

My friends are so important to me. They have really helped carve out who I am and how I see myself.
Also, my family have always been so solid and grounding. It's so important.
I try and look past the bad times and project myself into the future. I think you can see it in the pictures.
It's all about understanding who you are.

A very entertaining video! Everyone who styles their hair has been into their own learning phases of hairstyling. I can recall hairspraying my hair every hour when being out of my home as I was thinking that this makes my hair extremely voluminous and brings a perfect shape whilst actually my hair was a dry mess. There's also been a phase where I'd use a lot of conditioner when washing my hair as I was enjoying the easily created wavy hair but although shiny and all greasy looking hair effect. Of course this is far from the end of the list but overall looking back at this now brings a smile to my face as I can see how much I progressed and where I can still improve.
the fact he showed his past with confidence and point out his mistakes says allot about him! this is rear in this age especially when you work in this profession, you truly are different from the others youtubers, in a better way

I loooved this video Robin! Looking at all those pictures is both inspiring and encouraging. I guess we just have to try many different styles to find the one that suits us best and makes us feel confortable. And yeees, that messy slicked back hairstyle! It is definitely the best so far; you look just AWESOME!

Let's see.... I've had mostly short hair for most of my life. I was in the military for 7 years, so I was pretty limited as to what I could do and still be in regs. Before I joined, I had long, wavy hair that made me look I stepped out of the 70's. Now I alternate between a pomp, slick back, and sometimes a quiff. Usually the messy variations of these styles.
I think all the pictures that you show of yourself I think they're look terrific

Hi Robin I have a situation where everytime I go to bed at night my hair gets so messed up that by the time morning comes if I had done anything to my hair the previous day like put hair gel in it I feel like I have to do it all over again. Love your videos by the way, this one made me both think and laugh at the same time and I don't know why, LOVE. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

not true. he's had many different variations in length. he styles it very similarly because he knows what works for his face but even know he styles it like a swoop at the front and has done many styles in the past lol

Dear Robin,
Really like your videos. Although there are many channels out there on youtube regarding hair styling and products yet not a single channel (among the popular ones) never show hair style for guys that have a V shape hair line (widows peak as some call it). It's a humble request to show some hair styles (and how to style it) for guys having a such hair lines cause there are many out there ;) . Thanks!
PS : Chris Hemsworth I guess has a widows peak/V sahpe hair line.

Hey! If you've noticed your hair line moving further up (/back) your forehead, it's receding. Is it?
+Robin James no it isn't but you see people with like really straight hairlines, but mine is curved and when I have like a comb-over (which you absolutely rock) you can see like some sort of "cave" (that's how I like to call it) sorry for my bad english by the way I am from the netherlands, and I when is saw that you reacted to my comment I almost got an hair attack because you are basically my favorite youtuber.

great video! hahaha. i remember my different hair phases: long afro hair, then buzzcut (myself), then i tried to do an undercut (by myself), then i got a proper hair cut in a barber shop and use pomade to style it. now its a bit long again haha.
We've all been there. It's so funny to look back.
I think it happens to everyone the "I look so good with this haircut" phase and then you look back on how wrong you were

How do you get your hair to stick up in those ridiculous quiff pictures? Not that much of course, but sticking up is very hard for my hair.
Also, how'd you get your hair to look like it does in the last picture?

When I was like, 10 I used WAYYYY too much gel in my hair. Like, to the point where it would hurt when people would barely try to move it around. I remember coating like, half of my hand in gel and just slathering it in my hair. Oh my god I wish I could go back in time and slap myself.
Ha ha... it's all a learning curve!
And I thought a finger full amount was too much
I also remember how I used to shampoo like, literally every day. Biggest mistake of my life lol.

Great video Robin! I always enjoy watching your videos! I'm getting a haircut soon, and I plan on cutting some of it off. I usually go for a quiff type of hairstyle but it's to the point where it is so long I can not style as it just falls down even after I used Claymation and hairspray. I wanna keep my quiff and keep a decent amount of volume to it... My hair comes down to about the bottom of my lip. Any ideas on how short I should cut it? Thanks!
Hey Gabe, I'd cut it to about the tip of your nose. Although... depends on the length of your face. Take a bit off and then style it. If you need more off, go back and get more off.
