- Starting problem occured after the car was parked. It was driving fine the entire day. Got back in to start it and no Crank. Turned on the headlights to check the battery and they were bright. Radio was one. Dash lights were good. Blower motor was working. All electronics worked but engine would not Crank.

THANK YOU
So to save you 15 minutes he replaced the starter at the end of it
Thank you!
Thank you because the long pauses and slow talking was really killing me!
Lmao I was waiting to see how he did it cause that starter is on the worst spot I can’t remove the ground on it
THANK YOU! Half way through I’m like GET TO THE FRICKEN POINT
Thanks bro
holy shit man a 16 minute video to tell us you had a bad starter. cut to the chase man. you must be a joy at gatherings
Very helpful that you went through all the troubleshooting. My Liberty Jeep is doing the exact same thing as everything you described. My thought was starter too. And you just confirmed my thought. Thank you. Keep doing what ya do!
Boom! Hell yeah! I am glad you figured it out!!!!!! I pulled the starter yesterday, I am grabbing a new starter at lunch.
Did the new starter fix your problem?
Thanks man for sharing I have the same problem & pretty much the same thing just had a new battery two months ago...so definitely the starter.
Thanks for the advice. I went through the exact same process you did. Got a new alternator, battery, car still died. It’s a 08 Liberty 35,000 miles, it’s sitting now. Going back to my mechanic next week, never thought of starter, it always started. I will tell my mechanic what you suggested, my son emailed me your video. Appreciate your advice, if you only knew, thanks again hope that solves my issue. A R
So when you tried to crank it nothing happened? The lights wen on and nothing right?
Have you looked into the TIPM issue???
I am experiencing the exact same thing right now. I have a 2008 4x4 6 speed manual Liberty. I am thinking it is the starter. My starter fuse is fine. The ignition connector on the starter is extremely dirty, possibly corroded. I am sitting here at 12 minutes in and I have not heard the "1 click fixed"
Sittin pretty there Peter. Sittin pretty.
Hey Peter I had the same problem about may be a month to six weeks ago. I had to take it in for service because after the jump it didn’t run at all so I had to replace the starter at the dealership
So, I'm confused. It was the starter?!? If so, why wasn't it starting in your video?
Very detailed, but ggggggggggggggggod damn get to the point... lol
Frfr🤦🏾♂️
EXACT SAME thing with my 2008 Jeep Liberty 4x4.
ALL Lights, radio, etc. works. No crud on the cable ends. New battery too. Time for a new starter....???
Thank you for the info budd.
Changed starter. Still no crank no start. Took starter back and had it tested. Good starter. Replaced starter. Still no crank no start. Wiggled key while turning and got start. Biggest issue is probably your ignition switch. Replaced my ignition switch and have not had a single issue since.
Hi everyone. So my Liberty 2012 won’t start. We have already replaced : battery, starter, alternator.. got the mechanic to check and code was B212C so he said we need to replace fuse box ( TIPM) we change it and it still not starting… any ideas??? We have no idea.
No Crank No start? Zero power? Zero electricity?
Same problem with my 08 liberty. This is the work around to get car started. A safety feature to prevent accidental children putting a car in gear is the culprit. You need to get the gear shift in the Neutral position to bypass this safety feature. There is a very small rectangular cap on the gearshift base that needs to be removed. Use a flat screw driver or popsicle stick push it in the hole after removal of rectangular cap. You need to feel for a small tab in the hole, push down. Foot on brake turn ignition to on, place gear shift to neutral position. Try starting, should start in neutral. Check for this procedure in owners manual. Good luck.
When you bang on the starter, it works much better if you do it while someone is is banging the starter and someone is turning the key at the same time.
Prob is the starter on this thing is hidden under the intake on top of the trans
@@tylerbailey470 on a jeep liberty? No way!
🙂thank you for info
Unfortunately where I live it’s winter right now and we just got hit with a bunch of snow. My car sadly started doing this but I’m really crossing my fingers that it isn’t the starter and it’s just the battery
bro you made me laugh at myself im going through the same i was scared thanks bro really
I have the same issue. Car won't start. Dash lights go on and fuses look ok. I think I will buy a starter Jeep Liberty 2010. Just bought this Jeep bc just needed something to get around town. Hope it doesn't turn into a money pit..
I have some problem with my 2004 jeep liberty it was my stater I change my stater it run good
This guy sounds like he is from my hometown (RI)
@Peter L . Help I’m having the same issue with my 2008 Liberty Jeep . I went to Costco and parked it and when I got done shopping . It won’t no crank or start but everything does turn on lights radio and everything. Help me plz
What was it in the end? Starter or actuator pin
I have same problem problem no bus no crank no start or can be actuator pin
Mine ended up being my neutral safety switch, switched my ignition and actuator pin was fine, put the car in neutral and turned on
I need help cluster says no bus
@@TeamRegulate22 Hey , I have a 2007 Jeep Liberty, where was your Neutral Safety Switch located? I can’t seem to find a straight answer online
All that rambling on just to say you replaced the starter! Wow
My neutral safety switch acts up sometimes and the engine won't start. I just move the shifter slightly out of park (not all the way to reverse) and back to park and it starts just fine.
Does your shifter make a click noise when you apply breaks or turn the ignition to start? Mine does I'm wondering if it's normal. I'm possibly experiencing the same issue
@@antsright Nope. No noise.
All I saw was the dash indicators. Not showing how to take the actuator switch out.
Same problem exactly replaced starter it didn't work has new battery and new alternator all it does is click tested the old and new starter with batter cables and it functions properly but hooked up to the car all it does is click starter won't turn like wtf
Good luck with that one my man. You have to go through the whole system and troubleshoot each component as you go. Start with getting a scan done and hope something obvious comes up. Check all of your cables/wires, spark plugs, coils (mine needed to be replaced), fuses, anything obvious and easily accessed. It sounds like you already have checked the battery, starter, generator, alternator, etc, so after you have checked all of the things I mentioned and the scan shows nothing, then I'd imagine it would have to be something wrong with the ECM. You can try a soft and then hard reset, but if that doesn't work, then you're at the mercy of the mechanic/dealership who I hope are honest with you.
Crazy thing, I had the same issue as you years ago. After trying everything I could do myself, I ended up replacing the battery (needed a new one anyway) and had the Jeep just sitting for a while as I had no time to figure it out further and had the use of another car for a while. About a month later I charged the battery, started my Jeep and had NO PROBLEMS for the next two years! When I had some more electrical issues, I replaced my coils and plugs, did a deep charge on my battery and it's been fine ever since.
I have seen many posts in Jeep forums where people have had unexplainable electrical problems with their Liberty and had no luck figuring out the issue no matter what they replaced, tested or tried. Maddening!!
2008 jeep liberty just turning over trying to trouble shoot.
Thanks for wasting 15min of my time.
Starters don't breakdown that easily. Sometimes the solenoid is the problem or the brushes in the starter are the problem. The solenoid is an electrical interface which when actionized, send electricity to the brushes and these make the starter armature to rotate which in turn, rotate a small gear that engages the flying wheel cranking to start the vehicle. Either you replace the solenoid, the brushes of the starter or buy a new one..
I'm having a hard time replacing my start anybody have any ideals
Pain In the ass!
Had to remove the drive shaft , some people didn’t have to , It was a learning experience and I’m glad I did! Worth it, just remember to mark the driveshaft if you go that route
