What a great hack. Thanks man. I am surprised nobody else videoed this as well. They may have, but it was worded a lot differently so some couldn't understand it.
Hey bro nice video and its unintentionally funny, gave it like. Pretty sure I have same problem. Mine drove and parked just fine, went to start it and nothing. No crank no click. I have dash/lights/acc etc but tried getting a jump anyways and it did nothing. Swapped relays, hit starter, and nothing. From this video/reading/your comment it seems like its possibly the actuator, gonna try your trick in the meantime. Hopefully works! Thank you either way.
@aakarpanth824 mine turned out to be the wire for the starter/solenoid. Small green wire with a little connector on the end, dried out and just fried itself after it started. I couldn't jump it from the box like this guy did, his method did absolutely nothing and no noises either (hence the bad starter wire).
@aakarpanth824 was $100 at the shop when all said and done. I tried everything else that's mentioned for a no start/crank issue but had no meter to check that wire. If you attempted what he did in this video and you hear nothing it's likely that. If you can get a reaction from vehicle attempting what he did it's likely your ignition actuator or igniton switch both of which aren't expensive.
You did good but it’s better to use a screwdriver and jump the two large terminals on the starter. You are doing the exact same thing but you are burning the relay connections by jumping it that way. But a great job!
@@MrSrtman18 change actuator pin there are many yt vids for it but for a quick fix just to get it started if u need to drive it take out the starter/ignition relay and put a wire on each connection it'll start right up
get the pc with the skim delete and had to do the same thing it will bypass the security system and u can make as many spare keys without chips u want😂
technically it was half the problem haha but the actuator pin was broken as well so the key wouldn't start it at all. but yes the starter was bad that's why i had to jump it more than once for it to finally turn
😂😂😂😂I just broke a ""99" jeep grand Cherokee and it drove fine for 4 days. I got stuck and Found this video. It worked immediately. Thanks

Thank you, I just got my new used 2004 limited edition Cherokee, and I’m going thru this shit
U just saved my ass bro. 2 hours away from home
hell yeah glad to hear it man. the problem i had was the actuator switch. plenty of videos on youtube on how to replace/ diagnose it .

@@ryanstocks8972 how easy/ expensive was the fix

@@ryanstocks8972 it was indeed the actuator lol sorry i'm replying a year later

Any tips worth a few minutes 💪🏻👍🏻
Can you use speaker wire?
Huge thanks man 💯
What is the problem.. what is broken and what needs to be repaired?
it was the actuator pin for me.
@@riwgage thx
Did you end up finding the cause of the issue?
actuator pin was broke inside.
easy install, cheap part
@@riwgageso what where? My jeep is dead right now. No crank no start. Change what to fix? Thanks

Actuator pun in ignition switch?
@@holler2235 yes
brother, pop the cap off that relay! then you just have to pinch the relay together!
learned that abt a week after vid was posted lol woulda saved me so much time
is therebany way you can show is hoe to do that
What type of wire do you use
any
Im actually not joking when i say this. I lost my key. I have a spare but it doesn't have a chip in it so it turns over but it shuts off instantly

Solid wire works better lol
Your solenoid is bad on your starter....

To much bad language

thanks...did you find the root problem?
I am dealing with the same problem.
@@14hope was the actuator pin that spins inside the intonation switch, $20 part 45 minute install.
