One interesting thing about CPU performance of my HP Elite x360 1040 G9 2-in-1.
Under Windows 11 there is only one power plan: "Balanced". But I managed to enable "High performance" power plan and now Geekbench 6 shows considerable boost in speed.
Balanced was: 1568/6784 and High Performance is: 2121/8087
It's quite a jump. During my stress test CPU temperature stayed stable around 60 degrees in both modes. Fan noise was also the same. The only side effect was that Windows apps were slightly less responsive. Why would HP hide "High Performance" mode with such good results is hard to guess.
Still, it's good to know that if you need CPU boost for some reason, you can still get it.

Thanks for another excellent review, Andrew. A very good laptop from HP. This will be very good for the business user and the road warriors, as we get into 2023. For me, very few misses here. I am starting to like the AMD Ryzen Processor with the AMD Radeon Graphics on my Envy x360. Don't know if I would go back to Intel with the Iris Xe graphics. A question, Will the Wacom AES Pen work with the Envy x360? Liked the new benchmark tests, the competition example, the final score breakdown. Looking forward to the new HP laptops coming later this year. Thanks for your work on both channels.

    Great review! :)
Is the trackpad haptic or hinge on this one?
And do you know if the trackpad of the Elitebook 1040 G10 has haptic feedback or if it's hinge?
    Cheers!

I may not watch every video from you, but when its a product Im interested and I see it in my sub-box, I always give heavy weight to your opinion because you're extremely thorough on spec and usefulnes. That and I cant help but get hype after "Coming uppppp" ahaha.

I’m in the tech industry, please advise.

Andrew, thank you for a good review. I am very curious about the computational/processing power of this machine. I use a lot of mathematical modeling software like ETAP, SKM, Matlab/Simulink, and AutoCAD. I always used engineering workstations for this. Have you a chance to test something like this on the HP Elite x360?

Not a fan of soldered RAM, but for business use the HP Elite x360 1040 G9 laptop suffices. Good webcam and mic quality, all day battery life, excellent keyboard and touchpad are other attributes. Yes, it's expensive but again, this is a business laptop for business use and if bought in bulk, HP will provide a business discount. Great job once again Andrew! 👍😁

am pretty sure majority of this channel's viewers are not business people. i really don't see the point. these laptops are stupid expensive with okay performance. compare that to an asus oled 14. better performance, screen, and ports for a very affordable price. FACTS. with all due respect.

Nice PC for business users. A business would be better off purchasing the 3x2 Spectre for about a thousand plus less. It has a 4k display and similar specs regarding memory and processor and comes with pen and also a micro SD slot. Users can take a hotspot or use their phone hot spot in place of the simm card. They should have put a USB-C port on the right side in place of the USB-A port. This way users can charge from either side and will have two available USB-C ports when charging. One USB-A port is sufficient for most users.. Agree with you the missing SD slot is a minus for this unit. Great review.

Really unfortunate that Intel did not upgrade the iGPU. At least it seems HP improved the cooling system on the G9.

Great review, as always. I was a little disappointed because I only got my HP Spectre 360 with custom Max specs a year ago, but seeing that this thing is a 14in with Iris XE, no thanks!
Love my Spectre, and I researched for six months and watched every one of your videos. It was between that and the Dell XPS. I loved their carbon fiber but once they did away with that and did away with the two-in-one, no thanks! You're the man!

The new aspect ratio and glossy screen kills it for our purposes. I don't know why they would make such a drastic change without changing the model number. We got a few in because we've been using the G8 1040 for our staff and then we got the G9 1040 - and it's a completely different footprint! Because of the 16:10 vs the old 16:9, the display is much taller, which means the keyboard and touchpad area is much bigger, so the footprint is probably 20% bigger than the G8 and the glossy screen means it is not really usable outside. Our road warriors rejected it just based on the footprint alone. It was a fail for us...

This costing makes no sense when one can get all sorts of Dell XPS from 800 dollars to 1600.
Literally half the price and those are some well built premium feel and finish laptops.
    And I forgot about macs😂.

Have you tested the battery yourself? There is no way that tiny battery with that power hungry cpu lasts 12 hours. They probably did the test with the cpu in tdp down mode and minimal brightness.

If HP were to add a Micro SD card reader and somehow reduced the weight down to 1.1 - 1.2KG, that would make this a GREAT convertible laptop!
