Hi, I have the same equipment and want to hook my TV with Sprout100 and want to use the built-in DAC. Does this connection require any converters/adapters or just an Optical-out from TV to Optical-in cable. Thanks
Thanks for watching! No converters or adapters are required to use the DAC on the Sprout. Just an optical cable. If you don't hear any sound when you first connect the TV to the Sprout, you'll need to go into your TV settings and select PCM audio out.
Hey buddy. I’m doing a little research on a 2.1 setup. Mostly for streaming and simple movies in my basement. I was wandering if you would recommend the sprout 100 or should I look into something els. Thanks for any help and advice.
I don't give a damn about 5 o 7 channels... 2 channels is perfect for me as long as you add 1 or 2 subs. Without subs you miss a lot, specially with action movies.
Yeah, I agree that you need a sub for action movies. The nice thing about the Sprout is that you can easily add one, which I'll probably do at some point.
@@nadiraudio I haven't connected mine yet with a sub so I also leave the bass boost on. I heard when you connect a sub, the sprout will route all low frequencies to it leaving the vocals and high frequencies to the bookshelf speakers. Very interesting.
No, I've since moved the Sprout into my office where i don't need a sub. If I was still using it as a 2 channel home theater, though, I might try the Emotiva Airmotiv SE8.

Have you tried turning on the bass boost on the sprout?
Yes, I should have mentioned that I've left the default bass boost on since moving the Sprout into the living room. Seems to work better for movies.

Did you ever add a sub? And do you have any recommendations for a sub with this set up? I have the sprout100 and elac dbr62s.

Can the Sprout100 3.1 system setup or just a 2.1?
The Sprout100 is just a stereo amp, so it will only support 2.1.
