This race is GT at its best, we need this more often. Please PD, give us proper weather at all tracks so this is more likely to happen. When I watched the GTWS Amsterdam final I just thought "damn, I want to do this race", so I'm glad we actually had the chance to.
The weather combined with a long race makes it really fun to race! I've probably run the 1h Spa against AI like 100+ times. We need more of that, and with other groups - Gr. 4, gr. 2, gr. 1, formula and maybe even gr. B would be fun!
Proper weather on all tracks would either follow the weather patterns of each region or the actual weather of the area. Would be cool to race in the rain because it's literally raining at the track in real life.
@@Omniverse0 Whenever they figure that technology out, they could actually hold a virtual Nürburgring alongside the real one and with the same conditions! That would be sick
Great racing! The graphics are gorgeous in this race, the clouds approaching, the glissening track as it gets wet, the darker clouds, the way the ingame lighting reacts to all that, just beautiful. That's not even getting to how it influences the gameplay. The weather system is so good in GT7, shame that PD doesn't use it more often.
Dude, you have no idea how much you have inspired me. After watching the GT7 movie I got a crazy itch to play and then I came across your videos and legit have watched every video you made since last year in about 3 weeks time. I bought a dd pro, gt3 wheel, v3 inverted pedals, next level racing fgt cockpit and I'm in love with the game. Thank you for the videos!
Hang in there mate.. life can be hard just find 1 thing everyday worth getting up for, when you do that a few times find 2, trust me mate it’s all going to be ok
One can always learn something from your videos like the tire management for instance. Thanks for being a massive inspiration for the racing games, as (let's be honest) it's not the most popular genre - adventure, platformers and shooters being way more popular. Greetings from Poland.
If I were any good at gt7 then I would choose porsche. Even being an amateur, with a few practice laps I can place pretty well in the porsche at just about any track. I love it's handling and I think it has good enough speed.
Reminds me of my race in this one a bit. Also Q'd in 9th....bumped and received front damage on the first lap, then rear damage a lap or 2 later. In my case I fell all the way back to last. But I managed to climb all the way back into 3rd by the finish. This was definitely a great one, 35 laps actually seemed to fly right by.
Awesome experience! This reminds me when i started playing Gran Turismo, challenging the long hour races! This is racing! Strategy, consistency and speed! Thanks for the video!
This race was so good strategy-wise. When to go on inters, whether to change to wets, when to back on slicks, and then the test to keep on the dry line and keep control in the tricky conditions. It made the race more than just the usual repetitive lap after lap. As a fellow McLaren driver, well done! I didnt do too well though. Even though I own this car and have the tyres, after getting punted on the 1st lap and having to carry damage, I fell behind to last. Then when I pitted I had no IM or wet tyres. so I quit. Ill have another go next round, hopefully more prepared and less damaged.
Hands down best car comparison I have ever seen done. Well done gentlemen, and honestly near exact results I expected from the cars. All impressive. Would love to see the new M3 competition CS with AWD lap time
Just wanted to mention as someone who don't have the patience and skills to do sim racing games, I enjoy your videos and the commentary of your thought process.
Good video as always! The McLaren Gr.4 is particularly good right now, too. I chose Hyundai and I think there are less than 20 of us, so I have a decent chance of some money. It's slow as hell though.
Great! This video shows how strategy, judgement, experience and luck and have great impact on the race result, instead of only skill and car. Please continue to make this kind of videos. I really benefit from it.
Long time Broadbent viewer here. TH-cam is just now bringing your channel in front of me, cause admittedly I didn't search you up after liking you in Jimmy's videos, and while I'm disappointed it's taken me so long, I'm excited I get to binge so much content now. Absolutely loving the vids. 🤙🤙
This was an astonishing race to watch indeed. But that moment leaving the pit really shows how a mistake can be extremely unpredictable, and specially when things are looking so promising, damn. Overall the choice making and persistence really brought you a fine 5th at the end, well done!!
This was definitely a tough race but I loved it! Absolutely loved how the rain came in, luckily only 15 laps in the races I entered so only had a few to do in the rain.
I think that Exit Stage Left from the pitlane caught a large portion of the playerbase out. Nearly everyone in my lobby (myself including) also did that.
I live your humour 😂 I've been around since the first GT videos btw and boy has your channel grown and I'm so happy for you. Could you ever imagine or hope for all that became of it? All the irl racing, traveling and the Quadrant job must be awesome.
Yay, McLaren representation, finally! It's been funny how well you've been avoiding it so far. :D Note for later races: the Gr.4 car has quite funky gearing. Shifting up around halfway seems to work better than revving it up.
good race, steve! i have to agree this is one of the races that really make gt7 shine by utilizing dynamic weather and time. the rain threw me off as i did not expect it and had not bought inters, or wets lol. but at least for the last race of round 1 i finished 2nd!
This is NOT dynamic weather. This is FIXED weather (every split rained at lap 12) and dynamic would mean some splits never rained, some splits ran the entire race in the rain, and everywhere in between. When you can predict when the rain hits, when the rain stops, and create the "perfect" strategy, the race is NOT dynamic in the slightest. Asia gets the "WOW" factor when they go into split 1, NA is like "This is the strategy" for their split 1.
Hi Steve, great content. I was wondering if you would consider uploading the full length race with no commentary for this series. Be a fantastic chill video to just zone out to.. ❤
Great race I looked forward to this one. I know time is precious for you and you are too humble to overtly say but the points you achieved on the lack of practice is actually ridiculous. I really think with 2-4 hours practice (standard at this level) your contending 330-350 points regularly
Thank you Flash. I agree. With at least 1 race simulation before the actual race, I should be edging towards 350 points per round. Sometimes as well I don't bother going again if the first race was entertaining (irrespective of the result). I think I could have easily gone 300+ if I just did the second race here.
I'm friends with Iggy (guy who won) I was watching his stream of this, did wonder why he was so much faster than you in a straight line. That new damage model is a killer! Hindered me in my race at 5pm too
That McLaren kind of fits into GT's physics very well. GT's underlying tendencies are the same tendencies that car has anyway. It's a wonder it's been this long before it was more broadly competitive.
"Heavy" damage is even there in GT5, love that they are offering two settings (aside from none) and that they were using it here though the damage model is way simplier than in actual sims
I went with Peugeot for this manufacturers cup. I drove the RCZ a few times in GTS, but haven't touched it because everyone says what a turd it is. I qualied P4 at Suzuka and ended in P2, then put the Gr4 to P5 at Dragon Tail and eventually finished in P3. Sat out the Ring cause it's my kryptonite. Then got P1 in qual and the race at Grand Valley. What started out as a joke now is one of my favorite cars.....
The best 'giz a job please mclaren' video, ever! I hope you get to do a reminiscent video on this in a few years when you have managed to blag a drive for them ❤😂
Greetings from Paris 🖐🏾 I'm that P5 driver for McLaren! Just saying we'll be very strong at the Nurburgring, especially with this same type of weather expected, so good luck to us ! 😁
Did the same race, being in C with the DR mine was quite a lot shorter..... by 20 laps...... We only did 15 laps, rain started around lap 11/12 and helped me to get from my 13th start place to 4th at the end..... though the guy in front of me had a gap of over 30 seconds but stopped dead in the last corner of the last lap..... and he stayed there until the race finished for everyone else....... handing me 4th place. I was pretty happy with this result. 😊
GG, I feel your excitement about this race, I had a very similar one in the NSX! Failed my quali and started 15th, went up with careful driving and finished 5th too :) Also almost lost a position to an M6 that was quicker in drying conditions, but like the GTR behind you, he crashed.
Each GTWS series is better than the last Loved the long race with Heavy damage, and 1x time, so weather was not accelerated Brilliant event, looking forward to N24
Unfortunately the race for the „peasants“ in GT2 and 3 had no heavy damage and missed the weather swinging back to dry because of the shorter race. Still a good race, but still in comparison quite bit worse than the GT1-race.
The McLaren is the group 3 car I usually use. I love how balanced it is. Not much for top speed, but it definitely makes up for that with its handling I have found. I just bought a house so I haven't been able to play for a couple of weeks. Hope to get back on soon. Definitely miss it!
This race was the most fun race I ever did in GT. I was distracted by the sky at the end haha. I did the same mistake on at the exit of the pitstop😂 going back in slicks
I needed to bring my rank back to A S before registering. I ended up getting the rank but missed the first race by 30 seconds... The second chance and first race I did, I got surprised by the new weather radar readings and the damage not getting away, miracle I ended up 4th. But the last chance I had I took it and pulled of a satisfying 2nd place and that was enough to put me 1st in my Province and 7th for Ferrari. One of the most satisfying event I ever played on both GT7 and sports.
I had a great run going in my only race started 6th worked my way up to 3rd and probably would’ve finished there with no mistakes.. just to realize on my first pit stop that I didn’t have wet tires purchased for the Porsche
so i've been trying your tutorials and have a question for you. i'm pretty new to gt7. had gt1 back in the day, but nothing for the last 15+ years. i just got myself a rig with a good wheel and pedals. i had already been trying to follow other peoples ghosts and study what they do. my biggest problem is i'm just far enough off the top 10 that i have a hard time following ghosts for the entire lap. with a controller i was getting to within 3-5 seconds from top times. with the wheel i'm now 2-3 seconds off. do you have any recommendations to use ghosts for my pace?
Unfortunately, ghosts are usually only available from the top 100 (even then, it's only a handful). There is a setting though where you can reset the ghost each sector. This will bring the ghost back to you every time you start a new sector on the track.
@@Super_GT I have been using the reset feature to help. On the Fuji gt4 daily last week it helped. Hopefully I'll be able to keep improving and not hit a plateau too soon. Thanks for the reply
@@snow_bound266 No worries. Another possibility for you would be to turn on a ghost from the leaderboard but also your own personal best ghost. I set mine to start 0.3s ahead, therefore if I catch it, I know I've gone quicker. That could be worth a try.
I managed to finish 2nd at Suzuka in my round 1. Although when I done the round it was 15 laps, as I switched to IM tires and managed that finish. It was weird when it went to rain, never dried out.
This is why Forza just can’t compete. What a race with the weather just falling into place. Seeing the dry line coming in and the change in feel when cloudy etc. Polyphony have made errors but when they get it right they are just miles ahead.
My washing machine is what you can hear in the background at the start of the race 💀
I was wondering what that was. I thought GT7 added a louder gearbox whine 🤣
I had to take my headphones off multiple times convinced mine was on!
I thought it was the McLaren playing up?
Insane
Not sure what is more annoying tha washing machine or your voice covering the sound of the game 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
