Foosa getting out of the way at the last corner of the race because he got a penalty. I'm pretty confident that you won't see stuff like that on any rank other than S-S, at my rank the guy would smash into everyone else because "if I can't win you won't either". Props to him, great display of sportsmanship
at the same time, if you race against Steve and know he might be recording, you are more inclined to behave well (which does not lessen the spormanship foosa demonstrated during the entire length of the video).
Would he even have to take that 1 second before the race was over?
@@AdvancedSquadLeader no it would be deducted from his final time. He’d have lost a few places, hence the comidic bale out!
@@khimaros deducted times 2 right? 0,5 sec penalty becomes 1 sec if you don't serve before you finish the race
That's because the majority of people race for the rank, not for the race itself...
Foosa is a legend for using turn signals during the race
And for dipping out at the end when he got the penalty instead of fighting and potentially messing up the battle for the lead.

Would love to know what happened to Xiwande: started in 15th, up to 1st (in this lobby!) by 3:31, then back in 15th behind Steve at 4:08, finishing 14th. Incredible scenes.

Looked like he just passed through all the chaos and slowly made his way up to first then I think on lap 2 he was the guy who went super wide on the mulsanne corner at the end of the straight, putting him back into last
@@Cinque27 I wonder whether there was contact at that incident, or he overestimated the grip since there was still some moisture on the track - well actually per the indicator from Steve's pov, the moisture just disappeared.

Man I LOVED that race! It seemed the weather thing tapered out as the week went on. It was all dry in the end. But man ALIVE the bump drafting was fun!
It was indeed fun but it apparently quietly cost us our SR rating. I now find myself in a sespool of adept cheaters, going to be tough to get back to S.

Foosa played that final race perfectly until the Porsche curves, that was genuinely heartbreaking

After getting that penalty right before the last series of corners, Foosa pulling over to let you continue to battle it out without interference, was a class act.

I did this race around 20 times and only ever had light sporadic rain but that’s the nature of random dynamic weather. I’ve seen a few videos of the heavy rain and it truly was a game changer. This is what the community has asked for an finally almost a year after release we have what was promised.
@16:20 the 5 cars doing about 173mph near centimeters away from each other was actually insane! Incredible gamer moment by the 5 of you in that moment! So sick
I'm glad people enjoyed it, but holding throttle for an entire minute and doing drafting things is not very exciting so I opted out (similar to Monza and Daytona.) Though I have to say we had an entire month of good daily races so I hope February continues. For the record we had Dynamic Weather, we (currently) have a tuning race, a Mazda one-make, some Bathurst and some fast cars around some interesting tracks.
PS: I cannot recall the last time I had a top 1000 after 12 hours in daily C... I feel saddened that we get something fun and everyone is driving Deep Forest again :(

..I suppose we could call it a "rain gauge" technically as its doing just that but in the track condition inference, but, in the wonderful world of GT7 with Super GT at the helm, moisturemeter ??...I wouldn't have it any other way! Awesome vid Steve and a very welcome home!
It's shocking Polyphony haven't brought the dynamic weather to multiplayer until now. The weather endurance races are the only thing that've kept me going with singleplayer, because they really do force you to constantly be thinking about strategy, even when you're a minute ahead of second place.
Dynamic weather really is crucial for adding in that x factor to sim racing, because it'll just never be as dynamic as racing IRL. Video games can't replicate random mechanical problems. This really evens out the field nicely.
20:25 is a heck of a move by foosa to keep p2. Great driving. Would've been the move of the race had he not gone wide in the curves.

I'm new to online racing and loving it, although i've sampled Gran Turismo since GT4, and I'm just starting to get onto the podium online. I think I'll improve when I start driving with the VR2 and hopefully race with you one day!

Steve, if you like weather in races you should join Kie25 in his lobbies that he holds regularly, he loves messing around with weather and interesting combos, and people like Calster, Konsta and Foosa often join, even saw Wind on there once.
2:31 - I think this is telling that I've watched/rewatched so many Super GT videos that I'm conditioned to believe that anytime he's saying there's former world champions in the race that he's taking the mickey out of just some random opponents.

I'm honestly kinda sad about it. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing this feature in GT Mode, but in the 20+ races I did on this track I had never seen rain on it. I could always use the Softs with my McLaren 650s Gr.4, and never had issues (I always use the McLaren, even if other cars are better. I've gotten used to how it handles, and simply cannot drive cars like the GT-R or the 155)
me too man, I was so excited but after about 15 races in sunny conditions I just stopped playing because it was getting super repetitive. I wonder what was going on. it's a shame, I was hoping this week would get me excited about the game again.
Gt7 has a telemetry udp network and simhub is compatible with it so you can add haptic shaker for motor vibration gear shift and much more .

I genuinely agree with the title. I dont play much sport mode because the races are usually boring and repetitive. Keyword “usually”.
Silver with blue stripes is still my favorite livery for the Viper, but I'm digging the yellow/black.
When SuperGT doesn't give up and takes the race in the last second.
Event idea for fh5 :
vote for 12 car companies and players have to select any one car from their brand and have a no of races:
1. C class dirt (baja circuit)
2.b class road (street race)
3.A class C.C (sprint)
4.S1 class (gran pantano sprint)
5.x class (cross country)
They will have to select some amazing do it all cars

Not really into racing games, but always love volatile/random or even extreme weather in racing games, all dry and clear just gets boring and is why I'm not that into the genre, so nice to see such races!
Very appropriate that at the end it was Xiwande in the white Nissan GT-R who ran wide to gift you a place and hence a win, because on the exit of Mulsanne corner on the first lap of race one he stuffed you into the wall, for which you received your first penalty, via the numpty move of swerving to avoid ghosted cars. Therefore, justice was perfectly served.
I feel like maybe outside of tournament settings, All the weather should be dynamic, with some sort of forecast to point you in the right direction beforehand! So immersive and fun

I hope people understand why is so tricky to drive on changing weather conditions, and why drivers that excelled in them like Button are so highly regarded by other drivers (besides the rain masters of course).

Loved them bringing the No Chicane Circuit de la Sarthe to online (not sure if it's been on before) but that was the most online GT7 I lve played. Very enjoyable for the most part.
Funny to see that Mikael started with no qualifying time just to make sure the others are not fully without a chance.
Love the move out to give outside guy a tow and foosa finally leaves you and takes his own train onwards. 1st to 4th quick. Welcome to NASCAR, those decisions happen twice a lap every lap for hundreds of laps

Man it´s so frustrating to see that there are Drivers out there which knew what bump drafting is while I have to battle all the time with people that are waving right and left or brake checking because they doesn´t want to loose any Position, don´t knowing that this behaviour is what´s ruining their own Races.
I feel like the K’s chassis racing and this are some of the best online races we’ve had just about ever.
Edit: I don’t know what chassis the car is running so if I wrong oops.
