You forgot to mention that whenever ganking always just spam attacks (especially zone attacks) and interrupt your teammate even when he is winning the 1v1-2 anyway so your teammate gets next to no renown.
I could be wrong, but when I and a friend tested back dodging from a kensei, it was possible for the Kensei to catch the back dodge. He simply had to delay the GB until the last few frames of his own dodge.

There is another important feature about initial guard stance position when you lock on. For example, you are a raider (Legendary), your default protection is to the right, but if you leave it to the left or top,and unlock, it will automatically return to this position the next time you lock on, taking into account the time required to change the guard stance from right to the left or top, so you just can not instantly lock and dodge the enemy's attack.

0:38 also : when you get counter guardbreaked,youre getting pushed backwards,use that to backdodge and you increased your distance to recover stamina,use it whenever you need and if they fail to counter the guardbreak,free dmg. You can pretty much force opponents to get your distance,so remember that.

I have observed that the "free" back-dodge does not work against certain bashes because your back-dodge recovery is longer than your side. Centurion's kick for example seems to be one of these bashes.

The back dodge thing is only interesting when the ennemy tries a second gb. I personally never do, and will most of the time use a gap closer when my gb gets countered. (Kensei or tiandi's forward dodge light for instance). So a useful tip, but if the enemy doesn't go for a second guardbreak, you'll just get a light attack in your face for free.
Just letting all the new viewers know that the trap thing got patched recently. But there are still nice areas you can place the trap in order to keep it concealed or at least very hard to find.
This was a great video but, at the beginning when you showed the first tip on getting a free back Dodge on guard break even went out of stamina too. I noticed you picked Berserker for this example while fighting a non assassin. So will this still be effective or able to pull off as a non assassin against any hero?
yes, all characters work. back dodges have been standardized, both in speed and distance. we did some further testing though. The dodge forward GBs from valk and kensei, have a very specific timing that can catch that backdodge. But no other character can. And it's also not easy to do.
pretty sure if the kensei delays the gb he can get it after you backdodge. and some heros can get guarnteed attacks if ur an assasin when backdodging its not a completely safe thing to do.
freeze But if you do thay centourion and Qonqueror will get free unblockble bash so it's not good except for people who mixing up attacks not bashes perhaps
freeze the gb will hit if theres a wall behind you or if ur fighting on stairs. Ive been using that tip a lot when I found that out and its much safer to just counter them instead of trying to avoid gbs that are not guarnteed anyway.

"Parry in direction of original attack," yet that doesn't seem to be what he does. It looks like the guard is left in the wrong position...
EtherionAnem I might be wrong but basically if your opponent throws a top heavy from your left you can block top because that's the direction your opponents guard was in
I have 56 total reps and I never knew you could externally block top attacks with top guard. Does it work with attacks from the opposite direction? Like if someone on my left throws a right attack, could i block it with right guard?
Another tips for traps that have a very larhe AOE like the nail bombs and fire bombs, since its so huge,some maps have bushes near the zones, like A, B, C zones and u can completely hide them, for maps with say walls, always put it behind it facing the wall, since it'll get triggered by the red aoe. And there for it will not be seen, mostly for the nail bomb because it releases smoke
I already did that counter guardbreak back dodge with valkyrie I used to be able to dodge back into allguard and dodge forward to guardbreak their whiff I hope they don't remove it with valk rework

The two things in this game that always fuck me over are feinting and counter guard break. I'm not focused enough to effectively use feinting, and i don't understand how the timing for a counter guard break works.
Von Steiner feinting is something you use when your normal attack chain isn't working, or you don't want a move to be completely committed, like a zone for example. A Counter GB works when they go to grab you and you press the GB button to push them back, plain and simple.
Question about reflex guard: after it fades and the indicator is black, if a heavy attack comes from that direction, do you need to input the direction again before parrying or can you just press the parry button?
and the side the indicator is showing from. so if the nobushi is standing to your right and is throwing a left heavy, you can block both left or right.
freeze, about the CGB back dodge thing. how come when i back dodge into predatory mode about to bite someone after a CBG, they can GB me again? i know shaman has a very short back dodge but you talk about this property as if it were guaranteed for all heroes
How do you set it so the time stops at zero? Sometimes I try to help my friends learn new moves or practice with characters and infinite health is great but one thing I never figured out was how to get the time to stop
Honestly, I feel you need to watch a fully fleshed out tutorial on a character in order to even be able to figure out how to play against people with that specific character. I swear to god, it'd be easier to git gud at fucking EVE online.

then you probably delayed it too much.
I bite plenty of people by doing exactly that. they whiff the GB or an attack and the bite's guaranteed.
