      They move slowly and isn't jumping on every new trend out there. Ity's very obvious in Europe.
      I much rather prefer that instead of a coat turner of a manufacturer.
      In terms of pollution they pretty much leaved everyone in late 90's as they never sold many gas guzzlers and relied on hybrids.

    AWD XLE owner here. I've been enjoying the car very much. I took delivery of my car before the wheel recall. Toyota did their due diligence and took great care of us. We've done trips of upto 1200+ miles that have gone well. The car just got the update that's supposed to unlock 2kwh or so of buffer and many other improvements. The ground clearance and Subaru AWD is the best!

    I can say that with city and minimal highway driving, we average 250-260 with our AWD bZ4X. They don't have a glovebox because that area holds a radiant leg heater. There is TONS of leg room in the car as well, we are 6 feet and over.
    Thanks for the comparison!

    I don't know why you have an issue calling it a Mustang. After all, it's probably the fastest Mustang of all... 5 seats like any Mustang... and probably lower center of gravity (due to battery) so might be even better than a "regular" mustang in a curvy road... (esp given "regular" mustang ain't a light car and not really well balanced front to back.

    One problem that reviewers don't see with the bZ4X is while the base model may be cheaper, and FWD has the better battery and range, Toyota does not allow customers to order the car they want. Instead, they get on waiting lists for the allocated vehicle for their dealership. Toyota also does not allocate FWD versions to colder states like Maine or New York. 80% of the bZ4X's in the US are AWD.

  • @rusticroads
    @rusticroads 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    We really need to get to the point where reviewers are comparing vehicles based on how people actually use and drive them, as opposed to how they like to use and drive vehicles. Is a RWD car more "fun"? Yes. Do most people looking for their next mini-SUV/crossover care? Not really. If they want fun, they'll be looking for the performance variant, or another vehicle altogether. Stop focusing on whether you can whip it around a canyon curve or launch it from a stop, and pay more attention to how easy it is to park, how much visibility it has (blind spots), what safety features make it more drivable everyday, and how much cargo it can hold.
    Most people want a vehicle that easy to drive, has good visibility, is safe, and fills their needs. A suspension that allows you to carve a canyon is going to shake the fillings out of peoples' teeth when they're trying to navigate pothole-ridden streets and freeways. A car that has enough acceleration to come up to speed on a freeway on-ramp while carrying four people is going to have enough acceleration.
    Maybe a TFL-Back to Reality reviews channel?

      The Tesla model y is listed as 330 mile range but pushes to get 250, that’s with full charge which is not recommended and draining below 10% which is not recommended, so really daily range would be about 200 miles, The biggest advantage with Tesla is the charging station, I have never had an Issue yet with the charging stations, All the other manufacturers need to step up as well to improve the charging infrastructure, there are plenty of ev charging deserts out there,

      Toyota builds cars that last 30 years and hundreds of thousands of miles. EVs have a hard stop shelf life. Most people haven't figured this out, but they will when their EV depreciates to $0 before they've paid it off. In 10 years there won't be any early model Model S on the road and 95% of EVs sold today will be in the recycling bin. That's why Toyota half heartedly builds an EV.

    There are some other issues with the bz4x suspension system too, which are not immediately apparent. If you run into a curb, this thing is gonna get messed up badly. I once run my bz4x by a fairly low curb, driving 27 mph, and that knocked the steering column off center. They had to re-alight three wheels, for only one of them touching the curb. I mean seriously! The charging issue is a real problem. It pulls much lower power than any car I happen to park next, and it limits the charging to two times a day, which ruined my first long trip, and made me hate this freaking car.

    I saw several Mach-Es in London (I live in California) but I do not expect to see any bz4x on the road. Seems like a case of stupid design and a plain failure. I say this because you keep acting like a member of Toyota's marketing team!

    I don’t like the use of the name “Mustang” the Mustang is a muscle car, Ford should drop the Mustang part and call it Mach-E which makes more sense to me.

    If ford would do an ICE option on that thing it would sell.

    • @spcneary

      They make ST/sport versions of the rest of their crossovers, they likely would net any more sales, just take some away from their other sporty crossovers.

      @Josh-179 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Mach-e is a ground up electric platform. They couldn't do an ICE version of they wanted to. You can do it the other way around as they did with the Lightning though.

    Nathan bores me... What is wrong with the name of the Mach-E? Yes at the first revealing it caused concerns but aren't we all over this by now? The Mach-E is a ground up design and a very popular globally yet he finds time to complain about the bigger screen of the two, a layout Tesla debuted without comment from Nathan but he finds time to complain about the info screen of the Mach-E. Please could Nathan only review Japanese and Korean cars? He seems to be comfortable there...

    • @spcneary
      @spcneary 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are a minority, most people don’t love that a name that has always meant 2 door sporty car is now applied to a crossover, and a mediocre one at that. The MME isn’t a bad crossover, it’s just not that competitive in its class and costs more than most of the competition.

      @@spcneary Are you serious mate? Jeez do some research instead of reading poorly ppresented reviews from shady charactetrs masquerading as car reviewers. Mate the Mach-E is selling well globally it is a fact. Everything is not around the USA there's wider bigger world out there and Ford gets it time you do too. Toyota used to make cheap and reliable cars yes and I give them that but they are trading on their reputation and have been dishing out poor quality cars for years while mugs like you buy them and treat them with kids gloves but treat Ford cars poorly. Go to Europe and see how many Toyotas are sold compared to all the other brands. You also called the Mach-E mediocre despite it was Ford's first ground up electric effort and blew everyone out of the water. What do you know mate? A Rav-4 turned EV is no match. Toyota needs to partner with Suzuki and Subaru to match Ford and they are no match mate. What until the new sets of Ford Evs hit the market...

      Only thing wrong with Mach-e is charge port (soon to be fixed by going to NACS) and price. Not sure how they fix that when they are losing so much money on each one they sell.

      Oh no. I offended you. I'm so sorry you misheard my complaint about the use of "Mustang" in the name. I'm fine with "Mach-E" - I even think it's clever. As I am so "boring," and should stick with Japanese and Korean cars, please tell your mother that I'm taking her to Sushi, or a great Kimichi place. Don't wait up.

    I don't understand the point of this video, you're trying to make the point that at the base level they are in the same league, but you're not giving us an overview of those trims. Also, you completely omitted that the Mustang Mach-E has a frunk which adds loads of storage, ideal for food or wet items (I use mine at least twice a week) and the BZ4X does not have additional storage at all. Also, no mention of charging speeds.
    Lastly, can we please put to rest the whole Mustang BS? Ford calls it a Mustang so it's a Mustang; no one is going around questioning the Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini SUVs not being Lamborghinis. They make it, they name it, it's covered in horses, it's a Mustang, let it go.
