Cooorrrection! That's January 11th (Just 6 days from now!) sorry my brain is stuck in November lol Excited to see what sort of crazy Sci-fi concepts you come up with using this tutorial!
I fully thought this was gunna be clickbate where u just mess with some paid blender add on, but then u made the entire thing from scratch 🤯 10/10 tutorial!
OK, I had no idea how amazing geometry nodes really are. I still kind of avoid them as they are still kind of a new feature for me, but I'll definitely learn more about them now, thank you
Thank you for the tutorial. I have been looking this kind of tutorials since I saw Emilis baltrusaitis's presentation at #BCON2022. Love from India 🇮🇳 ♥️
Great totorial! Just one thing, u shouldnt bring down the strength of the bump node because that wouldnt be accurate, the shadows get kinda grey instead of black, u actually want to bring down the distance to a really small value :)
Hey man, could you do an update video on the 'Beach waves' one 5 years ago with the fluid simulation? That would be awesome with the new caustics :) Btw loye your videos
Don't worry, if you want to render a single image and you don't have enough GPU memory because of the Ivy gen (like me, even if I have a RTX 3060), I turned my device to CPU. Of course, it's slow to render...
couple of corrections. Its not "shitter editor". It's "shader editor". And it's not "node wrangular". It's "node wrangler". Just trying to help. :) I just bought an RTX 5099.6 TI-T. 600,000,000 polygons and no lag in full viewport Cycles render! Okay, I lied. there's a tiny bit of lag. Interesting approach to making sci-fi buildings.
Love this tutorial! Thank you! Could you please explain how you are able to adjust the geometry at 2:57? For some reason when I go into edit mode, i'm unable to adjust the geometry. Thanks!
at around 2:30, my stuff looks very different. I'm not sure why but mine is very squashed and regardless of how much I try to adjust the scale on the original it won't change
How did you use the leaf texture? Every time I download a leaf texture from there the leaves are either always facing the wrong way or they have a black background. Or it's just 2 leaves at once
This video would have been perfect a few weeks ago. Just did a project where I made some scifi buildings. Followed a different tutorial so the results weren't as good 😔
Geometry nodes is the weirdest voodoo thing I've come across in learning 3D and I really want to master it; I just can't begin to understand the logic behind it. Where can I start?
Get to nano geometry and sound gravitational change and nano thermokinetic may be magic happen but under the hood if they reflash computers graphic engine and sound driver or the bio then we be indanger unless embeded on earth cpu drivers
I am at the section where I am trying to extrude certain parts of the structure at the 2:57 mark in your video and when I press x-ray mode I cannot see the structure of the cube to pull things out, I just see every verticies in the whole structure. In solid viewing mode like you. Any help?
I hate u so much^^ U made ma assets obsolet cause I can do this. I still have to find into geometry nodes. But as they are the highest power of blender, I will do. At least I reached the point that I can follow such tutorials! So I will keep going on. There are so many Ideas and pictures in my mind, I wanna share. So thanku for this.
when i add the relize instance node my glass material turns into just a brown color, anyone might know why?(ive applied scale and did everything like he did)
I have the same problem, applying realise instance loses the materials on the tower. Doing some reading you have to have the same material slots setup, but i cant work that out yet
@@drathuu I actually did manage to solve it, I by accident used the texture coordinate UV instead of the attribute UV map like he did for the concrete. Fixing that solved my problem
I worked it out.. In the material.. we were asked to delete the "Texture Coordinate" node and replace it with an attribute node and add the name UVMap.. I did it for the 2nd material as thats when he says to do it, but if you listen carefully he says to also do it to the other material.. Click on your material.. in shader tab ensure you replace the texture coordinate for BOTH materials.. and change the name to UVMap
hi nice tutorial and thanks for it, but can you tell me how much polys are generated and how it will cost in performance placing in a game in unity 3d? Do u have any tutorials about your model in a game make in unity3d? tks again :)
I and others are having problems with the building being very stretched out tall when we put connect our object info node to the instants on points node.

When you create content on a backlog 🤡
Haha, I had to rewatch that part a few times. That threw me for a second. 😅
Aw shucks..I was hoping for the photo realism .but I guess this will do
@@bibsonsilentre5384 Will definitely be doing some photo realism this year as well :)
I'm glad I'm not crazy. Well. I heard the November part correctly. So that's one crazy point less for me
I fully thought this was gunna be clickbate where u just mess with some paid blender add on, but then u made the entire thing from scratch 🤯
10/10 tutorial!
do not follow this tutorial, he didn't delete the default cube
😅😅😅😂😂😂
I was low key disturbed 😂😂
Finally! A tutorial to easily create sci-fi worlds! This is just what I needed. Just amazing!
Requires RTX 4090

I've always been waiting for my favorite3d modeler to drop a detailed building tutorial.
This guy modeling in the Cycles viewport is proof I need a new computer.

The building textures aren’t free
Awesome tutorials, as always!
Thanks CG Geek!
Glad you like them!
Nice! Great tutorial, Steve. I love your videos - Its super easy to follow and learn from you.
Yes we all love the Muse Grave texture 😍🤣
ha ha ha
That was brilliant, thank you so much! And the muse-grave-texture will stay with me too :)
Love you bro ❤ you are my teacher from the beginning.
Brilliant post (and skills by uploader) - Thank you for sharing your brilliance with Blender noobs (such as me)...
I don't even have laptop or PC but I still love watching your videos ❤️
Wow! That's a really cool technique for generating buildings! Nice :D
I didn't know Ivygen was a thing! I'm gonna LOVE playing with that add-on
Hope you got a good Pc it kills performance
So actual for me! I'm creating sci-fi game now!
That tutorial was really sci-fi-y
Now we can take a step to future world with CG Geek...Nice tutorial Steve
Cool... Now I can use it in my project
Yeah!
Ctrl + ?! So useful! Thanks
Selecting the extruded faces
My laptop almost blew up when adding that IVY
Very stunning
Thank you! 😊
Your tutorials are awesome! Thanks!
Thank you for the tutorial. I have been looking this kind of tutorials since I saw Emilis baltrusaitis's presentation at #BCON2022. Love from India 🇮🇳 ♥️
THIS IS GOLD!!!
Thanks again for the cool tutorial mr. CG Geek ;))
My pleasure!
I was gonna say November!! Can't wait

Nice Tutorial :) I will definitely try this
Anybody's Ivy coming out looking like a BUNCH of white post it notes?
Very cool!
Cool I liked video.
coool stuff. Easy to follow along. But the best ivy gen is in the baga pie toolset!
whoa easy 👍 thank u
Thanks for all your tutorials! You are the best))
litteraly so easy ♥thank you
Maybe this tutorial needs to update. I found that GeoNode of 4.2 version is totally different, the result and node itself..
very cool tutorial man!👍
Cool thx !!
cool!
This was awesome, thanks so much. I'm on the verge of becoming an Instance on Points master! 🤣
haha its basally the only Geo-nodes I'm confident using!

how did i get here so fast, anyhow, excited to apply this to my future projects!

well you made that look easy
Good stuff
It looks a fair bit like the Half Life 2 beta citadel, which is pretty neat!
the texture isnt free
Embrios from 15 years on..or 14,7 hihi. Golden era on Earth
I wonder if that's the way how they done Coruscant in Star Wars... using a lot of low-polygon buildings. Must have been wild to do that in 1999.
this is great! Thank you for your lеsson
Cool
I was working on a metaverse and they wanted me to make Sci fi buildings. If only I could have time traveled lol
Cool video and good instructions, just one question, can you add more than one object to the gel nodes object?
The ivy gen looks pretty good, but it's VERY heavy. Is there a good way to reduce the poly count on it?
I think you may have to create a low poly mesh that sort of wraps around the ivy like a blanket and then bake it as texture with transparency
First comment here I love your animations
WOW
I wonder how well I could apply a lot of this to a high fantasy city...

ja ja, muy bueno !, saludos desde Argentina...tu lejano suscriptor...
Why my "Instance on points" node is different? The scale doesn't follow the first cube that I made for building.. pls help me 2:26
Apply scale! to the building before instancing
YO This is what Geo node are? YO!
But plants don't grow on spaceships in outer space. Nice video! 👍 😃

Can you do a video explaining the nodes plz because I just have no idea what’s going on
cool in .75 speed thanks!!
Finally, I don't have to use... Houdini.. for procedural buildings.
Dang, before I learned this. I modeled every single corner, every edge, every single leaf, in detail...
Haha just kidding, but just imagine.
Great tutorial but my Ivy gen leaves only come up as planes how do i fix that?
so basicly:
1. make a sci-fi-y thing
2. make a procedural tower out of that sci-fi-y thing
basicly
How did you use the leaf texture? Every time I download a leaf texture from there the leaves are either always facing the wrong way or they have a black background. Or it's just 2 leaves at once

He did not delete the default cube! He used the default cube! Heresy!
Joke of course, cool video :)
That's the beta Half-life 2 citadel!
Thanks for this! Very helpful! For some reason my material disappears on the generated one :( - Keep it up man!
the feeling of power when u know u voted for sci-fi :D
Man, can u please upload the video on 12th January because it's my birthday(if possible)?
Thank You!!
Geometry nodes is the weirdest voodoo thing I've come across in learning 3D and I really want to master it; I just can't begin to understand the logic behind it. Where can I start?
But how do I clean up all the intersections and the inner faces, so I can use them in a game?

Is there a way to bake the nodes to geometry and get rid of all the inside geometry ?
Say for optimizing video game assets ?
Me spotting that it isn't the default cube but cube.003, his arch nemesis.
is there a sequel to this video?
you forgot the random neon lights
could lowpoly do this too ?
im still only using node wrangler, still cant find node rang-you-ler that you use.
ha ha ha
