HI... I did not use the discombobulator.. because i was making some stuff with the Ico Sphere.. with triangles... But i followed the inset, bevel, and random faces steps... and Oh my god.... it looks so sick now. I'm really glad i found this steps. Thanks for sharing.
I mean ... the first step is to literally use an addon tho. Also, if it's for the shape how about just do Shift+E or shift K for make sharp edge? Also you can turn on shade smooth and then autosmooth until you get everything looking the way you want.
@@chuckcg You misunderstood me. I'm talking about the use of the Add on, not the turorial. I wasn't trying to be an asshole or F wit you. The title says no Add on so I assume this would use other methods, and the first thing you do is use an add on, so forgive me for my confusion.
@@ty_teynium Well maybe I should've shown only the panel part, but i wanted to show how i created that shape with this Free addon that is pre-installed in blender and i recently discovered.
@@chuckcg Okay, I get it. I am away from my computer right now, but I could give this a try. I think another way you can get that shape is with the mirror Modifier and toggle all axis. Afterward, Subdivide up to three times, and extrude the entire Plane. That plane's axis will be extrude a Plane and use a Particle system to spawn smaller instances of panels modeled separately. I just thought this would be a easier method and without an add on 😉
Hi! I would like to ask some help with 3D modelling a part of a SW vehicle. If you agree, we may discuss it in private. I have managed to model most of the parts in Sketchup, but the main hull simply gets me mad. I think it won't take more than 15 minutes for an experinced user like you. Thank you in advance.
I learned the hard way that 3:35 is not the right time to accidentally click Subdivision Surface instead of Solidify. Blender is still crashing as I type this lol
Thanks for such a great tutorial. The best thing is that it is brief yet very helpful. This is exactly what I needed for a project I'm working on.
Glad you found it useful, hope to see your work soon👍

Hi may I ask what could be the cause that after I used discombobulator nothing happened to my cube?
Hi, really don't know, it works for me in blender 3.1, i recommend using the latest version
@@chuckcg thank you for the reply, it worked after I restarted blender.
Cool, Thanks!
Thanks!
Can we have a viewport shading lighting tutorial from the beginning of the video? it looks really cool!
thanks! well i used a HDRI and added some point lamps, it's very simple.
@@chuckcg can i have a link of the HDRI that you were using? :)
@@kaz3563 i used "forest HDRI" that's included in blender, but here is it www.mediafire.com/file/5m8glybwevqskuq/forest.exr/file

@@chuckcg you are the man Chuck!
It didn’t work for me?
Can someone identify what the shape was at the start please? Isn't supposed to be deleted? - Jokes aside great tutorial

Great if you want to drown your model in polygons, not so great if you're trying to keep it limited
super !
