A nice combo of Beyond Creation, Necrophagist, Death, The Faceless and Obscura. Good to see people still making the 6 string a viable instrument for tech death stuff!!!
I love their album because it's not just all minor and depressive and stuff (which i also like for sure), but they have also great positive-melancholic energy in their songs. 7:35 for example also fills me with a kind of high-energy summers day enthusiasm.
Wow what technique. This guy's very proficient. Technical but yet still musical. It's not a jumbled mess of notes. Also ever note note is loud and clear. It reminds me of what the guitar sounded like before all that loud distortion became the norm.
This is why i love metal... Dynamic technical feeling... Awesome!! Denis Shvarts, i have so much respect for the work put into being able to achieve this... The Artisan Era... Good stuff Guys.
The thing I like the most of the entire album is the tone. Tigth but smooth, precise and rich of harmonics. Seriously, I don't know how you could get that but so much admiration. Obiviously, nothing to say about the playing, you are both very talented. Best part of the album is the last part of emergence in time. It seems like the clean guitar is only dry guitar input. So inspiring
@juna wood when metal becomes technical you need to make all the notes clear. I like that particular tone because it doesn't loose "chugness" nor punch. It isn't frizzy too.
WHYYYYYY is the album so goood??? I've bought the album, and listened to all the tracks, but it's not enough. I need more of this, please make more music.
I get a good Necrophagist vibe here, but with a slightly broader dynamic spectrum since it's not 100% harmonic minor ! hahaha great jobs guys as usual.
Yeah pretty much. After an Obscura show in Montreal, Christian Munzner told me one of the reasons he left Necrophagist was the lack of musical diversity. Obscura makes more sens on that end.
JusTVIDSE Well they aren’t in harmonic minor literally, in terms of key, but yeah. It maybe would be more accurate to say that all of their songs are in a natural minor key and use the notes related to it, but with a ton of altered minor scales (harmonic minor), with, as someone mentioned, a lot of diminished intervals in there (generally speaking a lot of chromatic intervals).
I LOVE IT!!! No death vocals! There is so much incredible metal out there that is botched by death vocals. Why have such virtuosity and then throw it all away with death vocals? Keep it up!
this guys style of playing is fucking awesome, so glad i found this. the tapping patterns are made to flow so nicely when playing im halfway through learning the first solo.
One thing that always amazes me about Denis... He always has a string dampener but it never seems to be on! He does all that sweeping/tapping just with raw technique. He doesn't NEED the dampener...
@juna wood yeah started to look into that usage more. But also I don't see anyone trash talking Marty friedman for having his friend hold his guitar neck during solos earlier in his career. Obviously he doesn't need it but i think it definitely resulted in a cleaner sound for those albums. Same with felix martin. I don't see anyone saying he sucks for using string dampeners - but then again his entire technique is based on tapping and slapping. He taps chords and things like that. I don't consider it cheating so much as a studio/stage tool because a lot of people who can play without them still use them a lot because while you may be able to control your string noise so it's not so noticeable, you will notice it sounds better with a dampener, it always does, even when the best guitarists do it. As long as you're not quantizing I don't care. Actually I think compression is more of a cheat because it can be used to make it sound like you have perfect dynamics when you don't. A lot of tappers cheat with compression
Was totally expecting Muhammed Suicmez to start growling on this. lol Hope the comparisons to Necrophagist aren't getting old and that they're taken as the compliments that they are! Awesome song and playthrough.
I come back to these videos randomly and just sit and admire them (whether it’s Malcolm or this amazing guy). This guy is like a younger Chris Muenzner... the influence is so strong that it’s undeniable. However it’s not just copying, it’s true inspiration I think. Chris had to develop his weird tapping because of his focal dystonia, and I don’t think most people would come across that style otherwise. That’s why I feel like he’s a huge influence here. This guy is just amazing and since Chris is one of my favorites I obviously love this guy. He is what I would be if I had this level of talent. I’d be a weird combo of Malcolm Pugh and Christian Muenzner if I could chose lol. Perfect alternate picking and ridiculous sweeping/tapping.
So Fucking awesome!!! I haven't words to describe the perfection of this theme!!! really a masterpiece!!! Una obra maestra del death metal aguante el canal de Amusia, este disco es un 10!!!
Well this is the new necrophagist album that I never got. Absolutely fucking amazing.

@juna wood Really good summary of why I like this!
im late but same, there are way too little bands that do this
this band is super underrated, the whole album is super interesting.
Very jazzy, sensual and brutal

Damn that was so awesome! I've realized now pretty much every band is awesome on this label, now I'm checking out every band on this label!
This is why i love metal... Dynamic technical feeling... Awesome!! Denis Shvarts, i have so much respect for the work put into being able to achieve this... The Artisan Era... Good stuff Guys.
I'm hearing influences of Necrophagist, The Zennith Passage, and dare I say it...Death. Which is a good thing. 🤘
obscura too
I hear Paul Masvidal and Muhammad Suicmez.
@@tyrbaldur5317 I'm pretty sure this dude is Christian Muenzner's twin, separated at birth.
I hear Steve DiGiorgio in the bass.
and Gorod
I liked this faster than it could load

100% agree with you about the "best part of the album"... that last section never gets old

You forgot to put [Official Lyric Video] in the title.
HA!!! :)
lpl
It's a guitar playthrough lol
@@joshualarson6668 it's a joke
Best lyrics ever! 🤘
This is one of those "instant new favorite band" videos for a lot of people i would say. Criminally underrated band.
My best best discovery of 2017. Awesome stuff.
yep. this and battles
I guess I always just assumed this was played on a 7 or maybe even 8 string, the fact it’s all done on a 6 makes it that much more impressive.
I'm a simple man I see Dark Matter Secret I press play and I know I will be blown away! And that outro... wow
Dude 1:20-1:55 took to so many places. So freaking good
WHYYYYYY is the album so goood??? I've bought the album, and listened to all the tracks, but it's not enough. I need more of this, please make more music.
Awesome! This whole album is stunning!

This describes Obscura perfectly! :D

Necrophagist’s songs are mostly in harmonic minor?
Necrophagist songs use a lot of diminished scales too

Such an amazing CD. Love the play through. So fkn clean hitting those hammer ons.. and it seems just a bit different from the cd. So epic...👍🤘
I love how you can still hear every other instrument clearly in this playtrhough :D great production, AMAZING guitarist, SICK band :3
I remember your comments on Ne Oblivicaris vids. You have great taste lol.
Back at ya :3. I feel like The Artisan Era and Season Of Mist are THE best Metal labels atm ^^

@juna wood I also didn't gain anything from the dampener on my headstock but did gain something by muting my trem springs with velcro strips....
Great Playing man! 🎸🔥
A lot of parts of this song remind me so much of the Between the Buried and Me album Colors. I love it!
Godlike! Your playing technique is amazing
This is very good metal material. Deserves all the support.
This record label is OP as fuck!
I love the parts in major. I think they go so well with the overall style/music. Though all of the songs (which I know) are effing awesome!
Also: Drum playthrough please!
Great work. I can't wait for the second album.
That first solo still gives me chills
I love the necrophagist sweeps that don't sound like he is trying to emulate them.
This band is awesome
Can't believe I missed this playthrough! Guess I just went for the CD and didn't bother with anything else!! Damnnnnn Denis is awesome!!
The Artisan Era and Denis/DMS - Top Notch stuff as per usual. Thank you for this.
Was totally expecting Muhammed Suicmez to start growling on this. lol Hope the comparisons to Necrophagist aren't getting old and that they're taken as the compliments that they are! Awesome song and playthrough.
