Third house still stands and serves as a summer location for the family. They had to built the house from timber, no hardwarestores around.

Dry Creek was at 620k subs at the time of recording--it's 905k today, 5 days after this was released to YT. Even if you'd filmed this on New Year's Day, that would be incredible growth. The fact that it's only been a few short months is even more incredible. 1M subs by the end of the year is completely within reason.

As a 40 year old male, lived my life in southern California and now my adult life in northeastern Washington....I have followed Dewayne and his wise words for about 6 months now and I look out into the wooded world and see things differently. The realness of the world lives outside.
I am a step father of two boys, one is now 19 and doing his thing at cal state Berkeley, and the other is 9 years old...going through the 4th grade. Even now the struggle to be that father of my own two girls and a stepfather...it's hard. Both boys had fathers that didn't do their job and struggled themselves with things. Being that male figure to show how you treat others as a male in a world that's, let's face it, tough. It's nice to hear a voice that's saying it as well

  • @ArgueNaught

I remember clearly the very first video by Dewayne I've seen. It was about how to choose a horse you'd like to ride.
To make things clear - I rode a horse probably 4 times in my entire life and at this point I still cannot afford to own a horse.
But the way the subject was presented was so interesting and unexpected, I got hooked.
The guy definitely knew what he was talking about and it was clear that horses or not, he had his very special philosophy on life in general and horses in particular.
His point of view had something unique about it, and that made me seek more of his content.
Dewayne is one of those characters that have the ability to instill in others the wish to know more on something they never thought of.
It takes great courage for a man to share his life experience and his true honest thoughts these days.
I think honesty (besides his evident charisma) is the key to his success (905 000 subscribers as of today).
Best of the best to Dewayne and to you guys for promoting his work!
    P.S.
As to that "Do less BETTER" t-shirt - let's get them out, will buy at least one as soon as they are available :)

Great podcast. On the topic of family, I have an interesting perspective that I want to share, if anyone is willing to read it. I had the good fortune to grow up in two different countries at the same time. From 1987 to 1999 I was able to go back and forth as a kid and teenager from the US to Spain (plus later on living permanently in both countries for years at a time as an adult). I deduced for myself at an early age what the main root cause of the difference between our societies was, because I could acknowledge for myself what my Spanish family was like versus what my American family was like, and that difference was the amount of care and time spent as a family on a daily basis, mainly around the living room table over meals. Taking your dinner and going to your room was not something that was ever going to happen in Spain. Not eating at the table or not waiting for everyone to join you at the table was not acceptable. The rules and boundaries were followed daily. And then good parenting could happen. Parents could take stock of what was going on with their kids, communicate, bond. And it was this careful and attentive parenting with clear rules and boundaries about behavior and acceptable actions, both in the family and out in society, that I found to be the root cause difference. In Spain, this was the norm across society, with few exceptions, and you could clearly see the little kid or two in the community who didn't have this - their behavior was a stark contrast to everyone else. In the US, this upbringing was the exception. I had a lot of American individualistic tendencies that my father in Spain worked hard to polish away, and acquired more of a mindset of being less an individual and more a member of a whole. All America is, is a bunch of individuals, even within families. Families here seem like a bunch of people who got hired in or drafted. There's not a lot of deep love and deep bond, nowhere near what I experience and witness in other countries. I think if we did a better job of being more selfless instead of selfish, from a young age, we would start to turn things around and parent that into our children. That's just my opinion though. It's not an anti-American rant, it's an observation with the intention of trying to make people aware, as my father made me aware.

Well said, I couldn’t agree more. I hope that more people come to realize this. It all really does start in the home.

I'm a new viewer in ur channel Dry Creek Wrangler. I sure hope u don't forget that not everyone can afford lessons or classes in learning the in & out of being a wrangler person. I don't have any idea what the cost is for your classes but just don't forget how poor some folks are & especially these days. To double the cost for the classes maybe a bit much? You r worth every penny & more for what u teach. Just saying, don't forget ur bubble begins. No disrespect to you D.
I love how straight forward, simple and brutally honest you r in ur videos with a touch of gentle heart. 🙏🏽

Is there no better proof of light, than seeing his horses hanging with the gentlemen in the background. Attending to the conversation, regardless of English language understanding being confirmed. Watch the tails people. Happy equests enjoying a human engagement.

One of my greatest sad things is my two grandchildren who grew up riding horses have never cared to learn about horses. Just want to ride. I had a passion for horses from the time I was small, no horses in my family. I got my first horse after getting married and couldn't get enough of learning how they tick. 43 years later and there is still so much to learn. They are amazing and wonderful and made my life complete. My last horse was put down at 30 years old. I had her 26 years.
