This was such an inspiring video. I have slightly lower GCSE grades and I was wondering if you knew which medical schools put less emphasis on GCSE's. Also, a UCAT video would be really helpful 😊
Thank you so much for watching! So if you have lower grades you don't really want to apply anywhere with a point system, so not like Nottingham, Birmingham or Manchester. I know Exeter, Anglia Ruskin and Southampton you just need to pass the GCSE requirements, which you need to check on their websites but they don't score them. It would also help you out a lot and really boost your application if you get a high UCAT/BMAT score so I would really focus on that and ofc I will make a video so keep an eye out for that. So glade it was helpful x
@@dhritimehta7842 Don't forget, if you don't quite get the right A levels either, you can apply for graduate entry medicine using a 2:1 degree in any subject, many people do it this way! This is a really hard one lovely and it is ultimately your decision. If you apply deferred then you shouldn't have a problem and if you have a good plan of what you want to do, then most universities will let you if you get a place and it doesn't normally stop you getting an offer. This would then mean you have your place and can just enjoy your gap year. However, it is a lot of extra work to do during 6th form. If you apply during your gap year then you won't have to do it during 6th form and it would take off some pressure but the application process will take up a lot of your gap year. You will need to stay in the country to prepare for the UCAT/BMAT and you need to take this the same year as you apply and be around for interviews. It really depends what you think would suit you best and what your priorities are. Hope this helps a little bit xx

I’m a graduate in psychology I’m trying to apply for medicine. Medicinal student who offers his services to help others told me that my choices are limited specially cause I don’t have English and maths gcse B or above and he also said I’m limited because of the fact that it’s psychology and not a lot of uni take that for gem .... so told me to maybe to consider one year college to do access to medicine course .... my gcse were c grades. So I dont know what to do now he said I can still try apply but my options will be limited cause they look at your gcse and few unis consider psycholgy bsc as a science. Please can anyone offer any advice?😭
I'm 13, and I do want to be a parimedic so for gces's I'm doing chemistry, biology and pe. Pe because I enjoy sports. Anna, what are you going to do in the medical industry, as in what job
What is good grades in gcse in the new 9-1 system like all 7s(old a) and above ? Does it matter if we get one subject below a 7 like I might get a 4 or 5 in spanish because I was put on foundation and not very good at it but would most likely be the only subject below a 7 (I'm predicted quite a few 8s and 9s) would that be OK?
9 is A* and 8 is between A* and A, 7 is still an A I believe. A 4 is a pass, or a C and a 5 is a high C low B. in a foundation subject the highest grade given is a 5. you will do fine in your results :) I'm also getting mine this year
@@ktm11545 i know what they represent im juts wondering what they comsider "good grades" i got 7 9s 2 8s and a 5 in spanish and i was wondering if that would be considered good since its such a general thing to say
Chemistry is a requirement for every medical school I have ever looked into so you probably won't get into medical school with the alevels you're picking, sorry.
Hi, I did a little more research for you, there are a few med schools in the UK that require biology OR chemistry, however your choices are very limited. There are a total of 33 medical schools I. The UK, there are three that do not require chemistry but another science. You should research some med schools that you are interested in and look at the requirements.
Is Biology compulsory in 11th and 12th grade or High School? I took Physics, Chemistry and Maths in 11th and 12th in Indian CBSE School Board. Will I be eligible for Med Schools in UK??
Hii, this is a very motivational video and I love it. I have a question tho, I did Chemistry, Mathematics and Psychology A-levels but can I still do medicine?. I would appreciate it if you reply.❣️

University of Birmingham 😍🇬🇧
I love it!
By volunteer work do you mean welfare work?
i just got my ucas gardes back and i got ABB i hope that will be good enough 😭😭
thats so good, you should be proud!!

@@annarebecca are any books remaining at all ?
im currently doing physio and wanna do me dicine as a post grad. do you think i need relevant work experience as well? or will the 5/6 palcements ive had throughout the degree be fine? thank you for the video btw! it helps a lot!
Do u think an EPQ is useful and helps you get into medicine easier or is it a waste of time? I’m not doing it but I’m scared I’ll regret it
I didn’t do one and I can say it didn’t hold me back at all! The most important thing are you a level grades and I thought it was best to focus on those. It is a little bonus but there are so many more important things like work experience that will make you stand out so much more, so personally I wouldn’t regret it at all!
UCAT video please
ofc coming soon!
Hi , im a DPT ( Doctor of Physical Therapy) graduate. I really want to take an admission in MD. Could you please tell me about the procedure?
can i spend a week revising for ukat
What work experience did you do ❤️
I got CCC can I get into a UK medical school?
To be honest I think you might struggle, most medical schools are AAA minimum.
can you put all the resources used
hi, would it be possible for me to do a Biomedical degree first and then go into a Medicine degree through that? because I am doing applied science level 3 and I am predicted D* D* D*
Can you take a level pe to get into med school?
I am a european citizen with B2 English and 98/100 grade point average. I can take Ucat and IELTS but my school doesnt provide an IB program. How can i get into medical in Britain?
What GCSEs did u get
Do these universities allow A level resits?
Can I do dentistry with grade C in English language at gcse ? and I got A*A* at science and maths GCSE but for English I got c and I’m really worried
I’m in your same position I’m in year 13 doing maths, further maths , Chem biology and predicted high but I want to go in med school but I didn’t achieve a 6 in English which is a basic requirement 😓
@@H1289-h8o what I did is retake gcse English only so I’m doing summer exam
im 16, just finished gcses and im got all 8ts and 9ns, would that be ok for being in medicine (not including 8 levels)
YESSSSS that is amazing!!! You should be so proud of yourself xx
Please can anyone offer any advice?😭
i dont think they look at gcses if you have a 1st or 2:1 in your degree so focus on work expirence books gamsat
I'm literally am 11 why I am I stressing about this
Exactly don’t stress about anything!
I'm 13, and I do want to be a parimedic so for gces's I'm doing chemistry, biology and pe. Pe because I enjoy sports. Anna, what are you going to do in the medical industry, as in what job
what did you get for your ucat?
I got 2820 in total and band 1
Is Chem is crucial.. Well I'm looking forward to pick bio psychology eng.. Will it be possible to pass the requirements of any UK medical scl..
You should research some med schools that you are interested in and look at the requirements.
hey there, what medical school are you going to?
I'm not sharing it on the internet yet! But I will be soon
So glade you found it helpful! Yes of course you can, some universities look for Biology as an a level but there are some that don’t you will just have less choice, you just need to look at the entry requirements I know Edinburgh and Sheffield don’t but there are many more. Hope this helps x
everyday Anna ok, thanks 😊
Look at medicine with a foundation year
me: 12
also me: watching this despite not having to worry about applying for 6 years yet -
😂😂😂 thank you so much for watching!! Hope you found it slightly helpful xxx
Are you thinking about going to med school? If you are it's amazing that you're thinking about it so early!!
@@issy483 Yes, very early but hey better start earlier the later!
Same
you talk so fast that was really difficult to keep up with
Sorry about this I’m trying to slow down. Do you have any questions I can answer ?
@@annarebecca thats okay! Do you have any knowledge of the route to medicine for someone who was homeschooled? No GCSEs or A levels
