Cutting of the bell housing was unnecessary 😮😮😮

The pressure plate itself did not allow the transmission to come out

NIce video mate! Greetings from Argentina.
Would a 4x4 be more difficult? Did you easily aligned the output shaft with the clutch plate when assembling? Cheers

Sorry for the late response. I havnt done a 4runner that is 4x4 but i do know it is very similar to this job. Usually you will need to remove the front axles and also some applications you need to remove the transfer case in order to make it easier to removal the transmission.
As far as the output shaft it is easy to reinstall but often time if you are struggling to put back the transmission often time what I do is loosen the bolts to the pressure plate then realign the clutch plate by reusing the alignment tool that the kit comes with

I did mine and it’s 4x4 I pulled the transfer case and then the tranny as it was lighter that way and was easy hardest part was separating the tranny and engine once it was separated it went back together really easy it did t even fight me

@@eduzancaner the clutch usually comes with and alignment tool it’s a plastic splined shaft that holds the clutch disk in place while you bolt up the pressure place so when u install the transmission the input shaft slides into place and is all aligned the pressure plate torques down and holds the clutch disk in place with the alignment tool in place then once tight it’s held then u remove the alignment tool and install the tranny the input shaft will slide in easily after that step I usually put a dab of grease on the input shaft splines and the tip where the input shaft bearing sits as well. There’s a bearing that goes dead centre on the flywheel and is actually tapped into the machines hole in the crankshaft so make sure u don’t forget to replace that as well it’s not hard to tap out the old one and tap in a new one that way the input shaft has a fresh bearing as well as the pressure plate release bearing this all came with my clutch kit I got a stage 2 set up so it’s got more clamping power than stock and was decently priced have fun with your project I sure did now I daily drive mine and love it on and off road

Awesome video bro, is there any way you can provide me the link to where you bought the housing? I broke mine by accident and need to buy one too 😅

The 4R in this vid is 2WD standard. 4WD would be similar but have to deal with the transfer case.
