I want to be a surgeon , but I don't know what's right for me. First of all , I'm an introvert, there's no way that I'll become a plastic surgeon I love general surgery but it's so challenging and I won't be able to live happily with that lifestyle. I'm really confused , I even thought of giving up on surgery and going for architecture ... I'm still a high school student , but unfortunately, medical schools here suck . The good ones are hard to get in , you either need money , connections or having the best grades in the whole country. I know I'm complaining too much but honestly, I don't even know what I want to become. Any advice? I'd really appreciate it

My father is a cardiologist and it is awesome. He works 5 days a week ( sometimes 7) and he works about 12 hours a day. During the weekend he is usually on call for only a day. If he is on call he only needs to go in for around 3 times a day and for only about an hour. I’m so lucky so have someone like him. I have gotten to see some of the procedures he does and it truly is an amazing specialty. Thank you to all the future cardiologists🙂

@@Antone.I just got enough marks to get into med school it will start in 2 months , here in India it's not easy to become a doctor ( 22 + lakh bio students wrote the exam and there is only 20 thousand seat for general category students like me ) , i want to specialise in neurosurgery but there is literally less than 10 seats in India 😢
After completing my cardiology rotation, I know with absolute certainty that this is what I want to do with my life. I had a brilliant teacher who is an electrophysiologist, she spent a lot of time teaching me about arrhythmias and ablation techniques. I also had a brief spell with an interventional Cardiologist, which was fascinating. I hope that I am able to pursue this goal of mine which is to become a Cardiologist.

hey! hope this isn't weird but I want to have children (and I'm trying to work in cardiology). when did your parents have you in your dad's timeline? like, where was he in his career? and what did he specialize in? family life is really important to me and I want to know if this is the right speciality for me!
ana c my dad had me when he was in his first year of residency and the first 10 years of practice he was private practice with only 1 partner so it’s a very busy schedule when you have to be on call essentially every other day. Especially doing interventional you have to come in any time of the night and perform PCIs and stuff Bc you’re literally saving someone’s life in the moment. It’s very rewarding but family life is definitely very hard. I will say though if you join a practice with many partners the lifestyle is much more manageable.
This year I hope to get into a medical school in Russia. Noticed that the cardiovascular system is 100% interesting for me and I'm thrilled to think about hemodynamics and blood vessels. Maybe this will be my specialty one day 😳

Tuki nieves yes I want him to do so bad am inspired to be a orthopedic surgeon because I recently fell off my roof and Shattered two bones and broke one in my arm and they said I could off had a permit disability but after 2 surgeries they fixed now I am in a cast for 6 weeks and I got inspired to be a othopedic surgeon and I am only 12 and really excited to try and learn more about surgery.

Not too much, you need to grasp a few concepts and you're fine. My maths was lousy at school, but I've never felt out of my depth in cardiology (from that point of view)
