The Marshall JVM 205H is a fucking versatile amp with balls to the wall and i always liked the snarling mid's you can only get like this, from a Marshall. You can get everything out of the head, from brilliant clean, to bluesy crunch, to freakin' awesome metal from doom of death ;-). And the mesa cab speaks volumes, too. Awesome Combination :-D.
Ok seriously, the OD channel on this head is amazing. I was worried that it wouldnt be able to do Metal but it so clearly has enough gain to do so and its a couple hundred dollars cheaper than a Mesa/ Boogie. I'd love to hear what this amp sounds like with a good overdrive pedal in front. And just look at that front face pannel, GORGEOUS.
nice I have a mesa 2x12 and maybe picking up a jvm 210 tommorow! Im just at a crossroads because I really liked the 410 JVM, and Im worried I may miss out on some tones from the 410 lol.
Excellent review, properly miked up, pure pleasure to watch and listen. Are those castors on the cab stock or did you get them after acquiring the cab? They look like mesa's trac loc castors to me but not 100% sure.
Perfectly. I've been using one for fice years in my teacher's music room for lessons.... It's a masterpiece of an amp, only problem is that people just want the"classic marshall" and this one didn't take off as it deserved to.
ForSunday How much more should my speaker wattage be compared to my amp head? Is a 50 watt amp head good for a 300 watt speaker cabinet? or do i need a 200 or 100 watt cabinet to go with a 50 watt head
+Jorge Letria I recently read somewhere that speakers are good for twice their rated wattage(so long as you're not putting your 100 watt amp on full tilt 24/7). Haven't broken anything yet haha.
OD channel on the 210 is the same as the OD2 channel of the 410. The 210 doesn't have OD1 channel. The 410 has separate EQ for clean and crunch, the 210 share the same. That's it.
DCT300 Do practice exercises with your pinky (and other fingers), master the pentatonic scale (and other scales), master alternative picking speed and accuracy so you can pick fast while sounding clear. It takes years to develop these things but you never forget, and plus you'll be able to solo once you master them
212 Mesa cab is great for rhythm playing,huge wall of sound,3D projection,awesome, BUT for leads sounds so brittle,unlike Marshall 1936 that shines for leads ,all from my personal experience.
another 10 minute grunge // 30 second jaNgle video. Folks need to learn how to showcase the clean channel on amps. Doesn't mean you gotta play jaNgles when you're on the clean channel. Throw some chops in there ya know...minor 7ths, 7 +9ths, etc. Everyone knows Marshall amps distort well. Does it have a good volume cap? Headroom?.. Does it hold up at high volumes on the clean channel? How does it EQ out on the clean channel??

Isn't the cabinet 120 watt and the amp head 50 watts? does that really make a difference?
Hamza Kazi Never have an amp that outputs more than your max speaker wattage, this ensures you don't blow the speakers. This applies to all audio.

Its 50 watts cranked up to the maxxx. Anything lower is way less power

у меня jvm410 и mesa oversized. лучше всего это 800. 410 звучит очень зажато. круто но бездушно как то по сравнению с 800 и даже 900

Do you really buy a Marshall for clean channel ? cmon...
Valère Rama SRV used Marshalls for His "cleans" and Fenders for Drive.
