All I see is another expensive piece of equipment to have to carry around, maintain and eventually replace. I genuinely don’t see what this accomplishes other than metering refrigerant for you, which you can do with a hose and ball valve manually for Im sure a fraction of the price. I get the gauges, love mine. I love scales. Those tools accomplish something. This I’m not so sure of but I also like to be hands on. I get it, not a lot of technicians Know how to charge a system properly or even know what subcool or superheat are so probably extremely useful for the unskilled so your probably right with it being the future lol.
I had problems updating the manifold, it would fail at 10-30% with Android and IOS. I tried every trick Testo had. My new manifold will be here hopefully in a day or two🤞. I'm looking forward to playing with this. Good video explanation of how it works 👍👍
Perfect timing for this video!! I just got the 550s and the 560i kit and was having issues. Ended up running out of time on the call and had to charge with my field piece scale. Can’t wait till tomorrow to work out all the bugs. Probably just needed the update.
Hi Gary! The saturation temp you mentioned, is that personal target more from experience or is there a metric to target that? I’ve noticed around a 20° to 25° difference from indoor temp to what sat temp on suction is and have made the correlation, just wanted to know if it’s based on anything scientific or just plain happenstance.
On superheat mode, you can only use it on split system with fixed valve. Does the same apply to charging through target superheat or subcooling? Did you enter temp manually or used the 605i? It seems they dont let you use the 115i for this mode, so you need to buy the 605i 🤡
I’m beginning to believe Testo owns Duracell 🤣🤣. I understand the accuracy of this but it it taking away the purpose for tech to think about what is actually taking place in the system.
To be fair mate when it comes down to it all the temps/pressures are just numbers if the tech hasn't got a clue in the first place. A lot of engineers I've worked with don't know how to charge to subcooling. They would decant and recharge to the unit spec weight and add any extra needed by estimating the pipe run if it wasn't printed on the side of the outdoor. I've got these gauges all they do for me is makes reading the pressures and temps a lot faster/more efficient. I'll spend money on anything that saves times. Not like I'm going to be doing a different job in 10 years 😂
Neat, but just not practical. By time I set it all up, input all data, do updates, connection issues, adds another hour+ to job costs. Nice video tho...
The future of charging

Lots of assuming and a lot of gibberish @@ethanhogan9089

I'm glad I'm on time haha
I just got mine yesterday
I hope everyone uses these
They're pretty cool!
Also are you charging 410A in the gas side
🥵🥵🥵whelp finally found a reason to switch from digital probes to digital manifold 🤣🤣🤣🤣I been holding out but this 🔥
Do it lol
can u change to Celsius and R32 refrigerant
Is that pure 410A? Never seen a tank like that .
Yes, I'm in Canada

40 SST is a nice place to be for AC when the room is close to or at setpoint. In my experience the TD you're talking about is closer to 30⁰F to 35⁰F
Ok, I’m going to pay closer attention to that going forward. I appreciate the response!
Can it be used with smart probes and a charging tee?
Haven't tried that, but should
Do you need the scale or are you able to use just the smart valve and the manifold?
I suppose you could just use those. Without th scale though, how would you know the weight?
by weighing the tank before and after
What's the difference between 557s and 570s? Will it work with 570s?
I never saw you reach 10F SC.. You said you did. Did you skip a little video?
It reached 10 then dropped back down to 8. I wasn't filming the whole time.
Hi guys pls guide to connect testo weight scale with valve to mobile device via blue tooth

What is the charging rate, if I have to add a lb will it take an hour
does it work with the older 557s
Why charging with bottle upright?
It has a liquid valve on it with a dip tube.
How long did it take
I wish Fieldpiece offered this...

Not exactly, thinking is all in the set up. Then it still needs to be monitired.

Well you do still have to know how too set it up, digital manifolds just do the pressure minus line temp for you lol
Not at all. It actually helps him understand.
Yor subcool said 5 tho?
👍
Is this only comparable with testo products , I use mostly field piece
Oh Brudder!!! I long for the good ol' days before all this digital crappolla! LOL
Those who can use a sling psychrometer and pocket thermometer with slide charts and analog 2 valve will be few.
@@David-lf2ne sigh…..

ur just an airhead, takes me less than 10 mins.
If all that takes an hour you are probably not doing correctly and have terrible time management skills
