    My very first time using the Testo 557 s digital manifold. In this video I will be doing a HVAC system pressure, HVAC system evacuation, testing out the Testo refrigeration app and it’s Bluetooth range. I also modified the 115i

      ya most reviews outside (and some inside) of HVAC doesn't have a lot of hours in the field anymore and in the field using the gear. This was good but you can see how inefficient to do work and review at the same time. Makes me value this even more. I tried to just record my work and if I have to do commentaries and make sure the video was rolling... Ya screw that, respect for anyone taking the time to do this.

    When you pull vacuum you should only hook up one side with your setup and put your vacuum gauge on the other side of the system. You want your vacuum gauge as far away from the pump as possible in order to get a true reading. You can test this with your setup by pulling a vacuum and then valving off the pump from the core removal tube and you'll see the microns instantly jump up quite a bit.

    Only thing I do different is close off the manifold for leak test. Reason being if you have a O - ring going bad in one of the hoses it will show a leak, then your running around trying to find a leak that don't exist. Also make sure you blow off any refrigerant in the lines especially when it's cold you can damage the gauges. Nice set up.

    You want to leave the high and low side on your manifold closed when doing a leak test. The sensor still reads the pressures with them closed and leaving them open just gives you two more possible leak points.

    Thanks for the demo, I’m looking to buy this set 😍 the one I’ve seen doesn’t have the centre sight glass in the manifold, does this matter? Only buying for mini split use and for a few cars as have my eye on some adapters for the different refrigerant. Total newbie at this, but buying lots of different sensors and manifold gauges comes out to more than this in kit form and this is way better, have stuck my name down for F gas training. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    Vacuuming the system straight to the vacuum pump without passing through the manifold. Can u used the manifold just as the screen to monitor the activity? since as it's Bluetooth connection to the vacuum sensor and the manifold. Have u ever try doing it that way? Nitrogen is inert. Pressure doesn’t change with temp

      @D2DNYAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      True however refrigerant in the oil may affect that

      I've seen nitrogen get affected by Temps many time in the winter. Where the day may be 20 degrees higher then the early morning

      Yeah bro hehe I’ve notice that vacuum is slow as f..k…
      I’m pulling my vacuums way faster but I’m using heavy duty vacuum hoses,I’m in 500s in l4-5 minutes easy…

    300 psi for a leak test is not enough. It should be at least 450 psi. Better to add nitrogen up to 500-550 psi.
