I added a few things from the video already, I've had puppies before but it's been like 8+ years (😢) So I wanted to refresh, and I'm sure there are new things by now 🥰 Plus I lived on a farm all my life and I've moved out and I'm in a town now so it's way different!
When did you buy all of your puppy’s things? We’re getting an Australian Shepherd puppy in about 2 weeks, & I’m not sure if I should get everything now, a few days before, or the day of getting her.
So for beds, I would wait till you get your puppy gets to you because you can take them to the pet store and have them try beds. Crates you can get before just make sure it's the right size and has a divider. Don't buy food before your puppy comes because the breeder/shelter/pet store will tell you what food they eat and give you some to take home. (you can switch their food slowly over a 2 week period after at least 4 days of the dog being in your house.) Everything else (that is not perishable) you can get now or when the puppy gets to you. You should hold off on buying clothes until they are 8 months because they will grow out of their clothes and chew them. Extra: Do not buy treats in bulk because your puppy may not like them and then you will be stuck with them. Have at least 2 chew toys and pee pads for the ride home so they don't chew and pee in your car. If you bought your puppy a lot of toys (10+) only show them half of the toys so that when they get bored with the toys you showed them, you will have new toys to give them. Oh and only give them 1-2 toys at a time so you don't overwhelm them. I recommend you have a toy bin and not leave any toys out because your puppy can chew and break them and the toys will become boring to them. if you have any questions give me a reply. Oh and remember your puppy will grow so don't get them really expensive things as they will become useless in like a month.

Look on AKC! Make sure they do these important things. -Tests for things in the breed - Vaccinates puppys before going home (just the ones for the age. Than you get the rest.) - Socializes, and imo early ENS is important. - Gives you paperwork to fill out. (Like verity’s if you cannot keep puppy it goes back to breeder. That’s all I can think of. But ask questions!!
