Thank you for all the sweet loving messages, Hudson says Hiiiii 🥰 To the few mentioning the fact that we should’ve adopted over buying I hear you and understand your perspective. I would love to adopt in the future, however as a first time paw parent I wanted to get a puppy we can train, and a get a breed that’s good with kids. Also, incase you didn’t know adopting also costs money and you have to pay to leave with them (atleast the places we looked into) Now, the concerns about Hudson not having a bed or soft surface, our breeder mentioned they liked sleeping on the ground bc they like the cool temperature, we did put a blanket inside later that week, as he adjusted to his new environment. I’ve also purchased beds for him (3 months later) and he just bites off the bluff, so he doesn’t seem to care for one. Long story short I can CONFIRM he is very loved, well taken care of and living his best life! 🥰😘
OMG, Golden retriever are the best family dogs ever. I had coco for 12 years. When she passed, I thought I would never get over it. She bought me so much joy. And don’t worry the crate is not forever. Once he is trained he will not pee or poop in the house anymore either. Enjoy him, and all the love he will bring into your lives.
Beautiful puppy! Just want to echo what a few others suggested to add something soft in the crate for him to nap on. Like an old towel or inexpensive throw blanket. Helps keep them comfortable and helps them to associate the crate as being a “safe space”.
I don't think I've ever seen you light up and giggle so much ❤️. Dogs can do that, he's perfect for you guys. He will shed a lot and constantly want hugs and kisses but a golden retriever is the perfect dog.
congrats on the puppy! Is it possible to put something soft in the crate, like a towel, so he has something soft to lay on? Or maybe after he is potty trained? Just a thought. He is a cutie. Good luck with him and enjoy him.
Love the glimpse of your new life so far and am excited to see more of Hudson, which suits him perfectly. He is already getting so much love as a new member of your little family! I'm sure he'll develop more golden retriever energy with time. I'm already obsessed with the little guy!
Watch a lot of training videos first time dog owner here 😂😂 with consistent training has been so good for both us and our dog to have manners starting young is important they learn so fast! ❤ Hudson congrats!
Loving this video of Hudson. He is so adorable 💙💙💙💙 of course we want to see more if Hudson lol. Owning a dog is the best feeling ever and am so happy for you guys to add him into the family❤
Aww, Hudson is so handsome and sweet 🥰 you grow to love them so so much and they become family. Enjoy him and make many memories . God bless and thank you for sharing 🙏💗
We got a puppy a few months ago and what we did is make sure there is a blanket in the crate, a toy, and give him a treat and tell him he’s a good boy. PS our puppy’s favorite toy is a duck! Also we make sure he knows not to pee or poop in the cage since that was where he used to sleep. I’m just sharing how we did things as first time puppy parents. I think you guys did the right thing when picking your puppy. You guys are going to be great fur baby parents.
Thank you for sharing your journey, having a dog is truly a blessing, my family lost our pup 1 years ago after 13 beautiful years but your video made me smile & cry, enjoy the journey ❤
Awww…❤CONGRATULATIONS! 😆The most adorable doggie! I love him…he loves you guys! Nathalie you are a great mom! So sweet with him! Eric is a great daddy! Definitely a learning experience but a very rewarding one! 👏Blessings your way!😊
This is wonderful news! Hudson is such a beautiful dog, and I think the name suits him. Remember, what goes in comes back out--right after feeding him, take him to his potty space and WAIT (for how ever long it takes)!! Repeat after every meal. He will do fine. He looks like he is as smart as a tack, and he loves you already! Be patient. Neither of you knows what to do yet. It's a learning experience for all three of you as a matter of fact. Eric was so cute bathing him, laying with him until he fell asleep was endearing.
Congrats on the pup!. He's so cute. Just wanted to give some advice animals don't like to sleep where they go to the bathroom. Consider getting a pen and having the crate in the pen area and the pee pads outside of the crate but in the pen. So he can sleep in his crate but if he needs to use the bathroom it's not in his crate put it outside in the pen area. Hope this makes sense! Congrats again on being fur parents. Owning a dog is the best experience.
Absolutely adorable!! Hudson is the one! Also what’s up with Eric looking like a runway model! He’s always been handsome but geesh! The hair and beard with the eyes are 🔥 🤌🏾
I related SOOO much to Nathalie’s statements about never having grown up with a dog (any pets for that matter) around and being petrified of them for YEARS (I’ve always lived in NYC). Like for her, the lack of exposure is what caused my fear and I only became more comfortable within the last 3-4 years when I met friends’ dogs, realizing I actually LOVE them and they bring me peace. I’m in my late 20’s now and I must say, I’m still slightly nervous around dogs I don’t know but once I learn their temperament and overall personality I’m more willing to be around. I still have to learn to pet and play with dogs, too. Despite all this, I’m STILL getting myself a golden retriever, soon, sometime in 2025, god willing. This video just gave me hope that people like us can be brave and enjoy the benefits and blessing of having a cuddly, loyal friend. I too want a male golden as I’m yearning for a sweet and cuddly companion. Goes to show early exposure is everything and it would be a great disservice to my future kids to not have pets around while they grow up. I would hate for them to develop a fear of animals like I did. Maybe one day I’ll get a ragdoll cat once I have more exposure to them but for now, I’m starting off with a beautiful puppy.
I’m sooo obsessed I’m actually getting a golden retriever as a second dog and she will be 8wks as well I definitely want to see more of Hudson he is so darling
I would have said the best way to house train is to train them from the get go to go outside instead of adding in the whole extra step of training them to use the pad and the outside that just makes the process longer and confusing for the puppy. The pads should be there for accidents and emergencies
Hudson is adorable! You will get used to having a dog. We have a dog too and he is our first dog and almost 8 now! I was never around dogs either, only cats. But I love having him so much! He weighs 82 lbs by the way😂
Congrats. I’m a little late to the party. lol So I was watching ur videos when u were moving & redoing the floors etc then I lost u….& for some reason u showed up on my utube page again. 8 months later. Utube must have changed something. But happy to b back.
My husband surprised me with my Bella she's she just turned 3months last week, and she's a poodle/ chihuahua mix, and I'm so in love her every time she goes #2 we give her a little treat. Nathalie you're going to feel so much love for Hudson... That actually going to surprise you. He's so cute.
Glad to hear from you both. Congrats awww to bad u didn’t get 2. So they can be playmates ❤ male dogs more needy lol 😂 like a lot of men 😬 if u can put a pillow in the crate so it can be comfy , Hudson so cute 😘 it’s like having a baby .
Awwww I Love Golden Retrievers, they are Fantastic with children and very protective. Now later you might want to get him a fluffy blanket. ❤Grandma Teresa
Chill she said it’s her first dog, don’t expect her to know every little aspect of having a dog, she’s even said it the whole video. They clearly love him very much and will now get him a bed.
@@lunarosa321 If you had a newborn human baby you wouldn’t get all the things you need for them? He’s fine. I put bedding & blankets in mine, and guess what? My dogs tore every single thing up that I put in their crates. They’re better off without it.
So the one thing I learned (by accident) is that dogs need dog friends. My last dog purchase I ended up getting 2 dogs because they both LOVED me. Needless to say I discovered how much they play all day long. I will never go back to a 1 dog household.
You have a beautiful dog. Congratulations. You will have to remove anything of value. The dog is a puppy and it’s teething. That’s why they chew. Everything ❤️❤️

I trained my puppy really quickly by taking her pee pad out side and saying go potty on it and gave her treats. Then I put the pee pad in her play pen big enough for just her pee pad and dog bed. Tell her to go potty and she would then she’d be allowed out. Every 2-3 hours she would be told to go potty
Bring on the Hudson videos! 🐾❤ They have beds that you can put in the crate to make him comfy and it will be his space. I’m sure he’s trained well enough to know and that will be his safe haven. You can get bells for him and hang from the door he will regularly go out to go potty…good training tip.
I have a genuine question, for ppl that have dogs and put them in crates(not specifically for Nathalie, I understand this is her first time, but for everyone that does this in general)…..why not leave them in the house without the crate? Isn’t it cruel for a dog to spend hours confined in such a small space . It’s worse than a jail cell I’d imagine. Atleast in a cell the inmates can walk and stretch. Like can’t a dog be trained to behave while unsupervised?
Hey so I did an extensive amount of research for it, I can see your perspective. But crate training has a lot of benefits, it creates discipline, allows them to have that place as their sanctuary, it helps during their training process and ofcourse restricting them from getting into something that would be dangerous/toxic to them. When they’re puppies they shouldn’t have a whole house to explore, it can be too overstimulating and stressful to them… the list goes on and on. He has adjusted quite well and doesn’t mind it!
