Do you think Derek and Sean can save this F-85?! 🤔
I think they will, but we won't be able to watch the whole show here in NZ
Y'alls are big 'ol boys, git out and push start it.
We would know if you didn't want to charge extra for "on demand". With almost 7 million subscribers on this platform do you think that is really needed?
No
What's next?! Are we gonna find out??
In typical motortrend fashion as soon as it starts getting good its over. Hopefully we'll get to see this car on Derek's channel one day
There’s a 43 minute full episode of this car on Motortrend on demand. Good episode.
@@CarGuyV8 yeah if only their app actually worked. Last time I tried using it it spent 99% of the time just trying to load an old episode, let alone a new one
@@CarGuyV8can't watch in Southern hemisphere mate.
No it wont be. Its likely to end up in a junkyard and crushed.
Pay TV
Always enjoyed all the videos when Derek and Sean work together they are so funny together. We need more Bieri brothers videos.
Short and sweet. Nice to see the Bieri Bros working together
nice to see your brother working with you again.
A feller just can’t get enough of these videos! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My thoughts exactly
Much prefer the longer form videos on VGG channel, but this is great too. Judging by the marks on the tires, this car was moved into place before the shoot. A guy needs to do things differently for TV, ya know?
Knocking aside, that’s a great car. I’ve always liked that bodystyle Oldsmobile. And I have to say that some of the best days of my 63 years have been spent working on old cars along side my brother. Brothers, at least in the case of me and mine, tend to think alike, so the thought processes of what to do and how to do it are largely in sync, making the whole process go much more smoothly and enjoyably.
Bodylines on these old Old's are amazing
music pipes! lmao! you're the coolest brother! :)
Absolutely love it when new episodes come to TH-cam just wish they were full length😢
Same here
He sold that to MT. Why you think there are no more revivals on his own channel. Only 300 diy paint video’s
@@N911GT2 Stop player hating.
He still does revivals you goof
@@ubertalldudefanboy
I wish this episode was so much longer. Could watch this for hours
That's an awesome car. I bet you the crank is hitting the windage tray. The noise definitely isn't a bearing. Great job guys and keep up the good work 👍✌️🇺🇲
Those "Mickey Thompson Indy Profile" tires brought back fond memories of my 1955 hot rod chevy in high school. I had N-50 MTIP tires.
When the cameras aren’t rolling these fellers just grunt to each other and communicate just as well.
Always great to see Sean on the show
Honestly gotta be honest. Really miss the revivals in your Bros garage. The locked up Cordova era for example. The two brothers and all lil cousins running around. Those were good times. 🥃🥃🍻🍻
Sad to say, but that was the true stuff that the lil guys could relate and afford. Still like vvg, just a bit toooooo much shine to it these past few years
There's a special feel in an Olsmobile, dun dun duh da, more than a luxury ride it's a feeling of pride that you get insiiiiide!
It will self clearance after a 1k.
Good to see Sasquatch & Brother Sasquatch workin together again... Cheers Brothers!
Big fan of your brother, you should have him in more videos if that's a possibility. Keep inspiring the next generation 🫡
I am just glad Sean did not put a step down through the left MITT.
Getting on motortrend is great for the guys, but I still prefer Derek's channel 😁
1966 ,bet it's a 425 but it has a torker intake. That's a plus! Glad to see someone working on an forgotten oldsmobile.
that would be a nice swap. the forged crank 330 was nifty for turbos, like a forged crank 425, but that was the year of the short stroke 400 which would be fun, too.
@@alertgasper rocket racing performance has a aftermarket 4 bolt main block (cast or CGI) that can adapt to any chevy and oldsmobile bellhousing. CGI block have a 3000hp rating. It can be bore and stroked out to 600ci. Performance Driven Design have billet heads that can outflow frankenstein lsx heads. Their not cheap $10,000 for a pair and $12000 for the block with billet rotating assembly.
@@americanfamiliesfirst3747 back when this F85 was slapped together, the "crazy" olds setup was a diesel 350 block with a DMR or Mondello stroker kit using a 425 cut down crank for 440 cid or so. but in a car light enough, even a Toronado forged crank 455 could get rubbed on to generate 500 ft lbs of torque by 2,000 rpm...that was enough with a highway gear to have some fun against your buddy who had a chevy and needed a 3,000 rpm stall speed and 4.10:1 gears.
@@alertgasper yeah think you had to use 396+40 pistons, i maybe wrong. It's been awhile since i saw that article.
I've got Joe mondello's oil restrictors and pulleys on my 455 oldsmobile. Also a 460 ford rear main seal replacing that trouble rope seal.
Love Derek’s Wordology. He’s such a Hoot!
Derek, Love your U-Tubes ! I’m getting my 352 Ford engine back , sitting for a few years. 8,100 rpm, + I remember everything you have taught over the years, keep up the great videos…+*+*+*+ 🙏💪🙌👍💕😎
I love 11 minute videos! Thank-You!
Especially when they want you to pay more money somewhere else to see the entire episode. Right.
you got great brothers... love seeing you fam jam with you.
Spun rod bearing. Know that sound. Had to fix that problem on a 455 I had in a 72 cutlass.
Good stuff! Definitely worth rescuing!
Great to see you getting some attention from the big guys - More people need to see what you do!
What a treat! Thoroughly enjoyed you having your brother along. Prolly stole the show. Sorry Derek.
Love an oldsmobile. The previous year, 1965 442 non post coupe like yours is my favorite. Make sure to check the oil pump drive rod that sits in the bottom of distributor. They can break rite outside the pump and lose pressure. What letter is on the front or back of the heads? FYI, those headers will work on small or big block olds. Thanks for the great video.
First time I heard his brother say more than three words in a sentence! Lol
I really like the looks of that car
Please notice the mud mark on the right front tire. She appears to have been moved to the current spot.
well considering how clean it is, i think we all knew it was just rolled out there for the show.
Ya pretty lame why bother pretending
@@djstobbe1301 Im sure the show does this for some reason. Just something silly i guess, still doesnt change the content i suppose.
You can also see that the leaves have been raked in front of the car lol
Always loved the f-85 can't wait to see how this one turns out
Love it. A nice break from welding up my '40 Packard.
What a cool and rare find. You find the neatest stuff.
Yup I agree! We need more of the Bieri bros.!!
This does not come close to giving Derek his dues. The man is a mechanical genius. And you fast forward through his process. Need to keep his videos on his own channel
100% agreed.
yea this sucked
The "Bowlsmobile " ! Cool car, deserves to be back on the road for sure !
About time you work on an Olds 455. The 260 through 403 were Oldsmobile unsung work horse heroes. Way less bottom end issues than the 455. You also don't burn spark plug wires.
Sounds like a inspection cover at the trans and motor. Good luck!
Too fast and too close to the front. My bet is cam gear hitting timing cover
Is there a part 2 coming... I hope so. 😊
Motor trend does this c*** to almost all of vice grips videos. Think about it have you seen one all the way through yet on here ?
Not a chance
They want you to pay for it. Thankfully derek has his weekly videos still
Nah. They killed Roadkill in the same manner. from full episodes on TH-cam to snippets and then hope you'll sign on to their platform. that was the end of Roadkill, unfortunately. I'm not paying Motortrend.
Whoa CLIFFHANGER! I had the same knock when the oil pan caved in on the crank!
Love it when the
Nro Bra Brothers work togeter ❤
well theres a familiar sound... bent oil pan hittin the crank boys,.
Now that's a fine looking rig.
That's a GREAT looking rust free old Oldsmobile! She deserves a new engine.
man that s a COOOL Ride BoTHeR! Good Stuff BoyZ!!!
Great old ride. Good stuff.
That olds is FIRE ! Sweet
Looks like it could use a bigger hood scoop
Derek is a man sized sasquatch but stand him next to his 2 brothers and a fella starts to look like he is the runt of the litter!! haha
My girl friend in college had a '66 Oldsmobile Cutlass. She was a flautist in the college orchestra.
Very cool car. Hope we get another, significantly longer, episode ... or two.
Of course! The seats are so comfortable in an olds. (I had a 69 Toranado). If is a problem child, no worries, Just set up a drive-in theatre out back for family and friends. How else will the kids know what that was like for us?
Aw man what happened to the 'Krang' character for your brother... that was the best :D
I don’t know what you all are complaining about… personally I’m happy hearing the sound and not finding out what it was!
I rebuilt a chevy 350 once.. I really took care of every detail. Started it up to hear that same sound.. it was the windage tray... crank was juuuuust touching a bit and it banged and carried on so loud and low end... pulled the engine smacked it with a hammer and back in the car it went no issue.
I would kill to own that car. I had a 66 cutlass with a 330 c.i. and a 3 on the tree. I loved that car and have not seen a decent one since.
I feel you I had a 1970 Cutlass S with a 455 and a turbo 400 but being a teenager it came and went that was 35 years ago
@@600wheel I loved my cutlass. Of the 40 or so cars I have owned it was my favorite. That was about 45 years ago. I still miss tooling around in it.
@@maakmykids My old Cutlass holds a sweet spot but what I’ve got now 👈 I wouldn’t trade for the world it took me 10 yrs to build and is everything I wanted in a car. Supercharged stick shift and built for road racing the only stock parts left are the block, most of the interior and body….my old red Cutlass would look nice sitting next to it though
I know you are on a schedule. Bit would have absolutely loved to been able to meet as I live in Independence, Kansas. Maybe it will happen one of these day's. Keep rocking on VGC.
That body style is muscle. 💪🏻
Best one yet👍
Reminds me of my 1975 El Camino. Had a 1971 455 CID Olds. Headman Headers with 4" stacks through bed. 3.00:1 rear diff from a 1974 Caprice.......
Derek's brother Sean looks like he would be the general fav character of a tv show
I just realized his brother can talk
that is one cool car save it boys
How many brothers sascquach are there?
Sure miss my brother.
Me too. 6 years now.
Love this car!!
Shawn has lost a boat load of weight looking good brother
last easy thought excluding rod noise. I had an Olds 98 with a severely cracked flex plate or fly wheel that sounded that radical. Of course not being there on top of it like you too.
Mystery oil dunno whats in it its a mystery never gets old and gets me every time.
Iregardless of a sick motor, that 66' Olds will make a great project car, & a fine addition to Rusty Acres.
That's an old Super Shop's special!
I love how cheesy the hood scoop is. An old 60's car turned into an ultra over the top street car with wild paint, massive scoops, American Racing/Centerline wheels.. Perfect look.
I'll be dipped!
What's interesting is how clean the outside is for siting in the woods.
I love this show!
My sister had an old F85. My ex brother in-law and I put it through the ringers lol.I would check the flex plate like someone mentioned. Had a dodge dart one broke in and sounded like a rod knocking lol. Also had a Oldsmobile Cutlass with the 350 Rocket that had a part on top of the rocker break that sounded like that as well. Sweet old iron brother
The Bob Ross of auto mechanics! ❤
Please call it a “happy little starter” 😂😂😂
The Oldslowmobile. What a paint job.
Love the content brother
Erson valve covers scream “Super Shops”!!! 😎😎😎
Cool 66 Olds body style.
Saw the follow up to this somewhere…the oil pan was banged in and the crank was hitting it. They banged out the dent and it ran great after that.
He sure can find these relics pf the past!
Nice ride
Killer car.. Off the road for some time but it doesn't look like its been sitting there for very long at all.. No rotting leaves or mildew anywhere... Looking forward to seeing this car back on the road..👍👍
I used to live up that way remember the car. The neighbor he takes it to is a budy of mine in Dearing ks. They later take it to Independence ks. to a body shop to do a quicky paint job on it.
Not gonna lie, you guys made me laugh so hard. How many times as a mechanic have we completely over looked the obvious and wasted hours and hours of time.. The crushed oil pan was a classic example, weve all been there... Thanks guys for makin us feel normal.. 😅😅
10:40 am on the 11th here in AZ ! 😊
My 2nd car was a 66 Olds 88 with a 330 high compression with a turbo 400 trans. For a car that weigh over 4400 lbs it still got over 26 miles to the gallon. I loved that car but it got wrote off by a runaway driverless ford van that hit it in the front end.
Episodes are too short probably because it was made for tv with commercials but I would love to see one project get done and not left hanging and never know the outcome, 1 hour episodes please!!!!
We built a 455 for a car that looked like that (minus the scoop) in my HS auto class. Put a lot of cam in that thing, like a Comp 305H, 253/253 duration at .050, it was pretty temperamental, but it went pretty good for those days - mid 1980s.
Hello Derek and family
Love it !
never knew this car existed but it looks nice..minus the hood
If you can get a rock in the carburetor, you can get a woopecker in the case!
Hey you were in my state thats awesome
Awesome car
