The saddest thing about this is that all of this happened in such a short period of time. Dorothy met Paul when she was 17 and he killed her when she was 20.
Literally he ruined her whole life trajectory and this just makes me think is fate a real thing , it’s crazy that all this started from one conversation where he had approached her and u just have to think imagine if she hadn’t been on shift that day or if she had been off sick they would never have met
The second I heard the age gap I knew he was awful news. If an older man is interested in younger girls and encourages them into sex work you know they're mistakes.
Regardless of the amount of likes, there are a lot of relationships where the man is older, and nothing is abusive. Also, there are many cases where the man and the woman are the same age, yet a violent death occurs. But, agenda's gotta agenda.
@@Somemighty i dont understand, why are you mad? a 17 year old dating a 26 year old is not okay...? if they where both adults its fine but she was a minor

So I have to be mad, pulling my hair, fuming? No, just pointing out a certain direction. And the boy here made the comment seem like age cap is always a problem. That Paul dude was born in 1939, making him 41, but I guess since his age was not mentioned, this age cap was ignored. I know you're just trying to make it seem like you're the morally superior one, but I have a feeling that this child/adult relationship would have been pretty much okay if the mature adult man was 18.
@@Ahdekia you realize that they met in the 70’s right? That was acceptable then. Now it is not but then it was normal. You are looking at it from today’s standard. Like how now women are not to smoke or drink while pregnant. It is dangerous to the baby. It was ok years ago. Again, I don’t agree with it BUT it was normal. I was a teenager in the 90’s and I had a 23 year old boyfriend when I was 16.
What i learned from this case: 1. Don’t let your child go off with a man who is older than her 2. If you want to divorce someone, don’t announce it, send them a lawyer 3. People are evil 😭
#2 💯💯💯 it seems to trigger a lot of people when you go tell them to their face what you plan to do to them, that is not in their favor. Not only can it trigger a really bad auto response but it also gives them the chance to plan and plot against
How was he problematic if these women literally agreed to the conditions? They were laid out. Before they agreed. I'm just genuinely curious. I'm a woman also. And I don't doubt for a moment these women knew what they were walking into agreeing to be with heff and live in the mansion.
@@krisj5561 I mean, it is kind of weird the man had a literal harem in the first place, but you're right, at least they were all told up front what it was. There was almost certainly more to it though...
He is controversial in the way that he ran his "empire". Yes, the women in his mansion agreed to live there and were likely aware of many things they'd be asked or expected to do. However, much like a cult, it offered promises and success but it often came at a price of having to say yes to things they were not fully comfortable with. Many of the women who lived in his mansion have shared the strict rules he kept once they were in and certain acts they were required to participate in. While I am unsure how much could be considered nonconsensual or controversial I do believe it should be acknowledged he was profiting off objectifying women. If the woman were fine with that, cool. But if he set up an environment that promised success for every time they said yes, well that's pretty manipulative. The women were constantly shown how being one of "his girls" offered independence, fame, money, etc. if they just said yes to what he asked. Not to mention, once learning that Cosby was accused of his assault crimes and that many instances were at Heifner's mansion, he only stated that it was sad someone would accuse his close friend Cosby of that.
This video was so well done, I actually didn’t want the part of her death to come. She seemed like such a sweet girl with a bright future ahead. Rest in peace, Dorothy
Never NEVER meet a deranged ex in a private place! Especially a place that they control. When my friend went through her divorce I constantly begged her that any meeting with her ex husband should be done in a secure place. And thankfully our local court house offers rooms in the court house for this reason. There might be a small fee, but safety is worth it.
@@madisonh.2992 unfortunately they had to meet for custody agreement stuff and to have papers signed. I can’t believe that even though Dorothy had been brutally murdered, people had no sympathy and still remarked that she ‘looked beautiful’. There’s no respect for her and her whole life, she was just used for her looks and body.

Okay but sex work is work. If they’re consenting and empowered it should be fine if they’re abused or manipulated with feeling the risk outweighs the reward or cant consent then absolutely not. I feel it was a bit like sugaring of the olden age.

Peter going on to marry Dorothy's little sister (when there was already a big age gap between him and Dorothy) is a gross way to end such a sad, vile case :// all the men in this story are disgusting and ruined these girls lives !!!
Her parents didn't sign a consent form, Paul forged her mother's name. And he never worked for Playboy, they could tell he was a scumbag from the get go and wanted Dorothy to leave him before she married him!

So weird how Kendall Rae briefly covered this case in her Chippendale’s video and I was a little sad she didn’t do an in-depth video on it. Little did I know Eleanor was going to save the day. Love it!
This is so tragic. She was a beautiful and kind woman with a promising life ahead of her but was taken advantage of by people around her. Its heartbreaking.
I just love how Hugh Heffner, the dude that only had two sizes of clothing for HIS bunnies and put them on strick curfew, complained about another dude being "controlling". I don't think he has anything to do with this case necessarily, but He's a despicable man in general.
Hefner had a good business going and none of those girls HAD to stay if they didn’t want to. Watch the documentary on the mansion, it’s very educational, and yes they were made to follow rules but it’s what made this place so successful. Back then no one saw the shaming as shaming. I believe Hugh loved his ladies (maybe too much) but they were the most protected ladies of this time, whilst on the property only! I’d just go watch that show if I were y’all. Thanks Elenor love love love your episodes 🤍
@@Summerleigh2percent I'd suggest you to stop defending that horrid pervert, pedophile, rapist, and groomer if i were you. It's making you look naive and stupid.
@@Summerleigh2percent Multiple former playboy bunnies have come out (anonymously) and spoke about how bunnies were regularly sexually assaulted at the mansion and when they tried to go to Hefner about the situation he refused to give them any type of security or protection. One of the anonymous bunnies said that she was taken advantage of by a popular actor of the time, and when she threatened to call the police on him, he laughed and said, “Who do you think their going to believe? Me, or the girl with the playboy bunny on her shirt.” Then proceeded to rape her. Your so called “documentary” was obviously just lies to cover up what was happening and what still happens at that disgusting place.
Of course Dorothy couldn't see his red flags. She was a child when they started dating. She was barely an adult when she died. I feel sorry for her, being groomed by three powerful, much older men (Paul, Peter, Heff). I don't care if Heff never slept with her; he had no problem sexualising and conditioning a teenage girl to be a male fantasy. So if he couldn't have her that way, at least another man could. Happy to share with his friends 🤢
Exactly and I hate the people arguing that she was an adult, technically yes, but I as a 21 y/o do not feel like I am an 'adult.' I still make dumb, misinformed decisions and can be manipulated if gaslit enough. All of this happened in a three year time span and I can only imagine how long she thought for each event. We'll never know the true life she lived, but I see her as a naive young lady who was promised so much and was on her way to getting that, however had people with other motives around her.
@@samanthaM7119 I agree completely. Do people really think a woman changes so much between the ages of 17 and 18? What does that one day of their birthday change? The age of consent has to be somewhere but that doesn't magically equip a person with the skills and experience to navigate life; least of all to navigate toxic and manipulative people. Sadly that comes with experience. We learn slowly, and I'm sure Dorothy would have slowly learned too if she'd had the chance. If people recognised that adolescence really ends around 24 and that full grown men shouldn't be influencing young women, least of all teenagers, then so many situations like this could be avoided. It's funny how young men are defended in situations of naivety or even wrongdoing. Yno, he was young, still learning, didn't know better, taken advantage of. Let the boy make some mistakes! His whole life shouldn't be ruined! But young women are expected to be above it. No, young women are calculating, deceptive, using their bodies to control men, should have known better, etc. The expectations and connotations we place on young women are disgusting and they only serve to excuse men's inappropriate behaviour.
Strange but true fact. Paul was famously tacky. His clothes, jewelry, the way he presented himself was offensive to just about everyone in Dorothy's life. Hugh described him as "greasy". If the Heff calls you greasy... Ugh.
Paul was clearly a groomer and an emotional abuser, and so was Peter. I am sure there was a lot more to their relationship and the situation than “Paul was bad and mean, and Peter was a good guy who was actually Dorothy’s true love.” As evidenced by the fallout after her death, they were clearly both predators.
I very much agree - I was more telling the story from Dorothy and her loved ones POV there, that she'd gone from a horrible man to a man she *thought* was the love of her life. I probably should have specified, but all the men in this case were vile towards her in different ways
I feel like consent is dubious when you put someone's livelihood and shelter on the line if they say no. I know these girls wanted to be there for the modeling opportunities, but finding jobs after being a sex worker is notoriously hard so I feel like these girls probably felt absolutely trapped and forced to have sex with these people who have trapped them in their web. The playboy manor seems like a house of horrors disguise as a man's paradise.
You could make the precise same argument for any marriage. Usually one of the partnership will be the main earner. The other wouldn't be able to afford the upkeep of a house on their own. Consent is given BEFORE the partnership begins with a full understanding of the situation. To claim that a smoking hot blonde woman would have any trouble finding well paying work or a rich partner is ridiculous. Hot women live life on easy mode.
@@jackthehat1093 the fact that you view a marriage this similarly to a paid job is really scary and weird dude. A marriage is a partnership. A job is exchanging your time in order to get money to have the ability to eat and like under a roof and take care of yourself.
@@Boing2699 Don't blame me that's just what marriage is which is why one of the main contentions in any divorce is always money or possessions (severance pay) I actually think you should pledge your loyalty and committment to someone you love without marriage. Then if it doesn't work out you can go your seperate ways without the shitshow that is divorce. The only actual difference between my idea and marriage is that marriage is a legal document and contract with the government. What does marriage give you that you can't get in a normal committed relationship without marriage?
Murderers who commit suicide after doing the crime piss me off _so_ much. Absolute cowards. *edit: why I don't like this act is because by committing suicide, murderers show power and control over their life; something their victims don't have when the agency to live was taken from them by these assholes. There are so many people online bashing and victim blaming Holly Madison and it’s disgusting. Hefner’s abuse and toxic work environment needs to be exposed, and I’m so glad it has been.
'Secrets of Playboy' is coming out early next year too, which should be insightful! Hefner was a piece of shit and it's sad he lived as long as he did.
What a nightmare too I’ve in such a place. Luxurious as it was, the Hefner mansion was the site of sex trafficking and sexual slavery. How does this still happen?
the fact that paul had been so terrible to her, from having a private investigator follow her, to stealing her money and selling all her things- yet she went to him with over a thousand dollars to just… give to him because she felt bad for HIM. ugh that breaks my heart. she was such a sweet person and still cared even when he had wronged her so many ways.
She was certainly flattered by the attention and she was being pedestalised as the standard of beauty for that era .Must be hard to see the truth when the men surrounding you are affording you every protection and opportunity to bloom . She was valued and was giving worth even though now we can see how gross some of the rituals were
The whole playboy mansion thing just baffles me. It's so cringe, Hugh was clearly just a perv I don't think he should be celebrated in the media like he has been in the past even after his passing. It's gross.
He was an icon so though there are problematic things about hef, he was a huge name, business man and did a lot for people. He unabashedly supported gay rights, supported women's right to work, equality... etc he was pro choice, supported animal rights, supported black people such as MLK, malcolm X, he had black women in his magazine when they were against that... he was a big part of history, wouldn't call him a feminist or anything though, more like a high class pimp. but there was a lot he did for women and sadly some negative towards women.
Same! I’m 40 mins in, and I just remembered this is a murder story.. it’s broke my heart. She seemed so lively and kind hearted, it’s so sick that her life was stolen from her..
😥I already see where this case is going...this poor girl is so talented and outgoing and charming. I fell in love with her just hearing you talk about her. But halfway through I got a drop in my stomach remembering what this channel does.😭
This case is a fascinating glimpse into the atrocious world of the modeling and sex industries. Sometimes the Mansion was portrayed as being such glamorous and aspirational place to make a living, but we are seeing more and more come out about how horrific it is.

its so disgusting to see people kll their “loved” ones in anger. it makes it even worse that Dorothy cant get justice. rest easy dorothy everyone still thinks u r beautiful and deserved everything positive that u had
I find it odd that her husband was so worried about her keeping tabs on her to avoid her cheating and stuff when he's the one who put her in the Playboy lifestyle to begin with where sleeping with other men was literally a part of her job. Even if she never went on to have an affair the marriage always involved other men. I guess the only difference is he didn't control her decision to have an affair.
If even Hugh Hefner thinks a guy is bad news, they must really be a scumbag. >< And as if it wasn't bad enough she was murdered, the way her boyfriend used her death made me uncomfortable.
It speaks to the art that the people in funeral homes do. They were able to piece her face together so that the guests could say she looked so peaceful
The Playboy mansion is a perfect example of how something that was supposed to be about the sexual liberation of women was just another version of The Handmaid's Tale, only the purpose of the coercion was different. They were still just dehumanised objects for men to play around with and used to satisfy their wishes and desires rather than full human beings who could also choose to be sexy. It's always been about control.
Me too, that came out of no where. She said he was a good man and then minutes later she said he tried profiting of her death and GROOMED AND MARRIED HER SISTER. like what
I just learned about this story last week! Really appreciated the in-depth coverage in your video. There are so many layers to this story that would be interesting to unpack-I think particularly about grooming. It’s unsettling that even the guy that seemed like such a better match for Dorothy ends up writing a creepy book and marrying her sister…
I remember this. What resonated with me was that her parents were afraid that by being with Paul, Dorothy was ruining her life. They were so right. Unfortunately, as teenagers, we all think our parents don't understand. This entire story breaks my heart. She had everything in front of her. Paul stole everything from her, her family and everyone who loved her. Then took the cowards way out by killing himself. 😢
If anyone is interested in the playboy mansion and what went on there, I highly recommend Holly Madison’s book that Eleanor mentioned. It’s called Down the Rabbit Hole and it’s one of the most fascinating true stories I’ve ever read
I absolutely love your videos. It’s like having a conversation with my best friend and being shocked as the story as it unfolds. Have an incredible year. Take care of yourself 🥰
This lifestyle honestly sounds vile Being rated based on looks, weekly weigh ins, being punished for gaining weight, having to be naked 24/7, not allowed to sleep with anyone without permission...disgusting
modelling is a harsh world. everyone's a critic, nobody moans when a model is called skinny etc it's the same thing. if your looks are your job then sadly that's going to be how your judged.
Hef was spot on: that sicko felt his power and hold over her slipping and instead of bowing out and remaining beloved to one another and being happy for her, he selfishly stole her life and averted justice by taking his own. So tragic, poor Dorothy.
Thank you Eleanor for such a thorough covering of this story. I saw the movie about this. I think it was called Star 80. She was so young and naive which most young women that age are. I hate that she felt she had to go back to the house to leave him. Even though she went not expecting him there. People like him are tricky. He obviously had it out to get the ultimate revenge. It seems like no one could believe he could've killed her. The stalking and controlling things he did were giant red flags. Thanks again Eleanor. You have such a beautiful way of telling a story.
It seems like her whole life was a disaster after she met that guy. But being like basically a glamorous prostitute in los angeles is not really what I would consider a success.
I worked somewhere that had weekly weigh ins too! I was 16! But in the uk your considered an adult at 16 although you aren't allowed to work in that industry until your 18. I was one of the youngest girls that worked in a prestigious place and looking back now they used me to ease in other girls around my age at the time, there ended up being 2 of us that where 16. And she was my great buddy for a long time. I ran into her again a few years ago (I hadn't seen her for 20 years), she didn't recognise me, and I didn't say anything. Her life wasn't great by a long shot but she was doing the best she could. And she still kept her looks and beautiful heart. You seem to find that, that people that go through a shit load when their young have beautiful souls. I think having the inner strength to get through what we did makes us pretty special people. And beautiful hearts will always have beautiful faces, maybe we look broken when wer hurt but once wer strong again we shine! Miss you sky... Hope the last 2 years have been good to you... I know she'll never see this.. But I wanted to say something to her. Peace Love and Prosperity to all ✨💖

I’ve been hearing about the Playboy Mansion and all of the “rules” and such the women had to follow quite a bit recently. I’m floored that so much of what is being claimed not only went on but that the Bunnies went along with it. It’s the least glamorous way of life from what I can tell. Thank you for shedding more light on what it means/meant to be a Playboy Bunny and not shying away from the seediness and immorality that seems to have gone on. I have no issues with someone wanting to be this type of model, but they deserve far more respect than they were given. I mean, if they didn’t meet their 9 pm curfew, their “allowance” was taken away? The level of control that held over the models sounds terrible. I hope that Dorothy’s family have healed and are doing okay today. It must’ve been so difficult losing her in such a senseless way. A loving, compassionate, and caring woman had her life ripped from her because her husband couldn’t deal with his wife being as successful as she was. Tragic doesn’t even begin to cover what this situation was.
if your rent and food is paid for, as well as getting $1000 pocket money a week (about 3000 in todays money) and fame…yeah, a lot of people would put up with bs
She kind of got her wires crossed with the info about the different women of Playboy. The Playmates were women who posed nude for the magazine, they would've been paid a lump sum check for their pictures. Bunnies were women who worked at the Playboy Clubs and were often paid to sleep with clients (so it was almost like a brothel). But as they had it set up as a club those women would've gotten paid every 2wks and tips every night. Just like any waitress; but these who were the women only given two choice of outfit size. And then you have Hefs girlfriends, women who date Hef, live at the mansion, get $1000/wk allowance, and have a 9pm curfew. So Playmates and Bunnies did not have a curfew, did not get the $1000 & Did not live at the mansion.
Its basically what you get when you have a sugar daddy, he put the terms out there and not many didn't go along with it. You're getting his money living in his mansion, there isn't much you can say. They use the money and power over you.
A sad, sad horrible fate for this lovely, talented young woman. Two slight corrections: Dorothy's Mom did not sign consent forms, Snider forged it. Also, Snider was not a scout for Playboy. He entered Dorothy's photo in a national contest that Playboy was doing that year.

You’re saying Hugh was a bad guy by this comment ? Unnecessary
The fact that Hugh Heffner is the least problematic man in this story is very scary
He's about as problematic as Mother Teresa, though Mother Teresa edges him out slightly.
@@krisj5561 the thing is they were not told everything they would have to do, so.

I think because Hefner wanted to be the only controlling person in the bunnies lives
Hefner had a good business going and none of those girls HAD to stay if they didn’t want to. Watch the documentary on the mansion, it’s very educational, and yes they were made to follow rules but it’s what made this place so successful. Back then no one saw the shaming as shaming.
I think it was implied that Dorothy also had to partake in the sexual parties and being naked and all that stuff that the other playbunnies had to do
Never mind I just watched the ending
I completely agree with you.
The boyfriend had absolutely no place to be jealous when it was HIS idea to put her in her fame. Some men really only care when it affects them.
Strange but true fact. Paul was famously tacky. His clothes, jewelry, the way he presented himself was offensive to just about everyone in Dorothy's life. Hugh described him as "greasy". If the Heff calls you greasy... Ugh.

Because an old man who walks around in pajamas, a smoking jacket, and a yacht's captain hat is obviously not tacky at all...

Parents should of kept better tabs on her. They sold her out. Shame.
Absolutely! Grooming left right and centre!
The way I was like “20??” I literally forgot how young she was
I feel like consent is dubious when you put someone's livelihood and shelter on the line if they say no.

Hugh Hefner sent her a card in which he grouped her in with the rest of his bunnies, and when I said exactly that,, she explained what made her a bunny in a way that makes perfect sense. I've forgotten how she said because my injured brain screws with my memories, but she proved her bunniness beyond a reasonable doubt.
@@wendychavez5348 source: trust me bro , but i actually do trust you lol i'm sure that explanation of hers was point on
yea, a lot of the bunnies had to sign contracts and sadly aren’t allowed to talk about what happened
@@piersnivans5983 There were numerous Playboy clubs, so not all bunnies lived in the mansion. I was a bunny in the early 80’s, which just means I’m old now lol.
Dorothy was 17, Paul was 26? So a grown man preyed on a child. Gross
Her parents were right to not approve.
i saw another comment saying at least dorothy’s mothers signature was forged ☹️ i dont know for sure though
This happened a lot in those days; not right but much more common than now. The age difference wasn’t a huge ‘issue.’
A lot of controlling, manipulative narcissists in this case.
RIP, Dorothy. So many people failed you.
the fact that Bogdanovich later married Dorothy's sister... really weird honestly
and he's WAY older than both of them
I’d given Peter a lot of benefit of the doubt throughout the story up until then. That’s just super gross
I said same thing
Prolly cuz he’s rich
I LOVE HOW HER LITTLE COMMENTARIES LMAOOO it makes the story less intense bc i get really panicky when it gets intense so her slipping in funny comments were my absolute fav !! pls dont ever stop doing that 😩
literally !
there’s a podcast about this case called death of a starlet if anyone’s interested it’s quite good and goes into a really deep dive about the info and the lead up to dorothys death eleanor does a great job but this podcast is over like 8 episodes if i remember rightly so obvs it goes into even more depth
How does Eleanor always post at just the right time?! consistent and regular uploads too? Girl is on FIRE. 🔥
@Boluga no
Right? I can't go outside today and I was so bored and bam. ELANOR
You're on fire too 🔥
Dorothy's mother did not sign the permission letter allowing her to work for Playboy. Paul forged her mother's signature.
How do you know this ?
Was in biography
I don’t know why I wasn’t picturing her as a 20 year old until you said she died at 20. So young. What a heartbreaking story.
It’s trippy to think and wonder about how different Dorothy’s life would have been if that man never scouted her out of Dairy Queen ...😔
Also, “girl was tourin’!!” 😂
It would have been great if she listened to Heff.
@@diaryofarealmom3264 I think it would have ended the same way even if she listened to Heff. Paul was one of those psycho "if I can't have you, no one will" type of guys.
@@roter13 I- now that makes me want to stay away from all men..
please cover the Lauren McCluskey case!! the police work was absolutely horrible and her family lost a loved one because of neglectful officers. she was an incredibly talented athlete and student who was killed by her ex. I love your videos eleanor thank you for always being kind and compassionate when you talk about victims 🤍
🥺💓rest in paradise
Replying in the hopes more people see this comment
dorothy is so beautiful; you can see the pure soul shining from within her in every photo. rest peacefully Dorothy
Paul wasn't a scout for playboy, she was his first Playboy model ever
💯
💯💯
@@angel-xi6ie sadly…you’re kinda of right.
Sounds so culty!
Honestly moment of silence for Dorothy poor girl. She seems like such a kind and loving person :( Rest In Peace Dorothy. And these men got me so mad
The playboy mansion is such a fucked up concept. Hugh Heffner was the epitome of dirty old man, turns my stomach.
She deserved a real man that genuinely loved her. Paul and Peter were both disgusting people
My heart flutters every time you say "look after yourself"
Same! I just love it when she says that!
See, my parents have a 9 year difference. But my mom was 25 when they met, not 17. Big change of scenario there.
I know this video is quite old but I just watched it and I loved watching Eleanor’s face as she tells the story. It seems she’s always hiding a smirk or uncomfortable laugh at just how crazy and dramatic and at the same time-fun and glamorous it all was. Thank you so much I loved this one.
P.s. I sat at work all night watching Eleanor’s videos in
instead of actually working it’s so great
I just love how respectful you are when doing your cases!! You are a true beauty INSIDE AND OUT!!!! Keep up the awesome work doll ❤️🥰
I live how this video goes with this case and Kendall Rae talked about this a bit. Both videos go really well together on this topic❤️
I was thinking this was familiar then realised jts the chipendale case Kendal covered this week
Just finished watching the Kendall Rae case! Wonder whether it was on purpose, Eleanor and Kendall have collaborated before
@@joannaroberts6988 omg same
I was just thinking that!
Live.
its absolutely terrifying that hugh heffner is the least problematic person in this story 😭
He legit r*ped her, it's on Bogdanovich's book
Loving the way Eleanor covers cases differently from everyone else on TH-cam so you’re never hearing a replay from another channel. Great job and Thank You Eleanor.
this actually happened down the block from my house. the house has such an eery feeling and ever since I was a kid I got bad feelings from it. crazy how my gut was telling me something I had no idea about.
the guys: Talking about their friend who had a SHOTGUN and was talking about DEAD PLAYBOY BUNNIES. And they both are NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.
Also them: " It's fine they are probably sleeping with each other let's give it an hour ☺️"
If anyone is interested in the story as a movie it's called Star 80. I've watched it when I was a teen and I'm glad to see people talking about and her story she was to young to go. Great video!!
Eric Roberts acting was so convincing that it took me years to get over my dislike for him.
This story is about a beautiful young lady who was used by disgusting older men. It’s so sad 😞
The poignant Bryan Adams song, The Best Was Yet To Come, was based on Dorothy's story. Another great tale well-told! I didn't know who Eleanor Neale was until yesterday, but have watched three stories already. Great stuff.
I can’t believe they (the men in her life) didn’t let her just rest in peace. She seemed like such a great person and so loving and kindhearted, I hope she rests in peace and is happier wherever she is
I really liked the bit/backstory about the playboy mansion! Really interesting
I understood the parents trying to allow their newly adult daughter to make her own decisions to an extent but that last bit where she died and her extremely older ex is taking interest in their 13 year old and wanting her to be more like her dead sister is really making me question their parenting
Her parents were divorced and her dad was not around, she only had her mom
Girl, your confidence is literally radiating, and we are living for it. 🥰
facts!!
facts
The weird part is Peter ended up dating and marrying Dorothy's younger sister...
Paul's behavior makes me really angry. He's actually a child trapped inside a man's body. If he had a brain, he'd know right from wrong.
Patiently waiting for a 'Surviving the Playboy Mansion/Hugh Heffner' series. Through the decades of Playboy being active, I know there would be thousands of women with stories of abuse etc. Poor Dorothy may she rest in peace 🙏🏼
Edit. It turns out there is. It is called 'secrets of playboy' and it goes down the rabbit hole. So heartbreaking what these women went through and how they thought they were empowering women.
Secrets of Playboy! A lot of women come forward and talk about the horrific things they went through
@@krism7426 yes I watched it, it didn't air until after my comment though. Such a shame for the women.
Missed opportunity to call it “down the rabbit hole: secrets of playboy”
@Salty_Oatmeal25 how did the writers miss this opportunity?!!! You nailed it 😂😂😂
@@Salty_Oatmeal25Holly Madison already wrote a book about her time in the mansion with that title! It’s great!
elenor really been blessing us with these uploads 😩
Excellent research, as always! FYI: two of the photos where Eleanor seems to reference Peter Bogdanovich are actually John Ritter
Glad you noticed that. I was going to comment but wanted to see if someone else had mentioned it first.
Dorothy Stratton was in the Peter Bogdanovich film “They All Laughed” starring John Ritter. I also noticed the photo of Mariel Hemingway that kept popping up when speaking of Dorothy (she played Dorothy in the movie Star 80)
Oof! And, iirc, Paul was not a playboy scout, and was actually the one to sign her consent forms - not her parents. Thanks for noticing!
Looking forward to settling in and hearing your take on this lovely! ❤️
