Just watched this for like the 10th time, far and away one of my favorite "first" BAND-MAID reactions on TH-cam ! Can't wait until this hits 100,000 views !
These girls rock harder than anything in the west in a long time. I’ve been asking myself for the past decade, “where did all the music go?” Turns out the answer was Japan. Who knew?
Dude... Welcome to the BAND-MAID fanbase. I'm a recent inductee myself. Your reaction was GREAT. You're right. These girls KILL it. I like that you spread your attention across the band. They're ALL very talented. Though the girl that played that 'ripping' solo - Kanami - composes most of the music from what I understand. That girl is a GENIUS. And I have yet to find ANY of their music boring. My favorite song of theirs - so far - is "the non-fiction days". That was my first exposure and that song just bloody BLEW my mind!! Check it out - if you haven't already! :D They seem to focus mostly on Japanese music festivals but I'm really hoping that they make their way stateside again. (They came through...LA...I think it was?) Finding ALL of their music to buy digital is kind of tough. But you can hear a great deal of it on Spotify. I had to VPN to Japan in order to even by the album "Brand New Maid" for that song. Was a lot of trouble and cost me $20 but... WORTH IT. So glad you liked these talented, young ladies. They're amazing at what they do, humble, fun and super energetic. Just...WOW. Take care, man!
@World of WatSon - OK. I came back JUST to point you in the direction of the video I just found. The solo...just so MASSIVE and POWERFUL. She's a BEAST!!! It's like...her own version of "Eruption" but Eruption just doesn't have SHIT on this. (O_O) Link: th-cam.com/video/4sYJuq6JJ7c/w-d-xo.html
Rock/metal these girls drip with talent. Simply put there phenomenal. They do have a gimmick but absolutely unnecessary they don't need it. Their talent alone is mind-blowing
Hi from the UK. You just listened to my favourite band in the world today!! Band was formed by Miku Kobato (rhythm guitar and backing vocals). She used to work in a Japanese maid cafe and wanted to start a Band with the look of maids and a hard rock sound. She wanted to get exactly the reaction you experienced!!! It's all about the "gap" between what people expect them to sound like and what they actually are. I saw them live in London in 2018 and have been a huge fan ever since. They formed in 2013 and have a large following outside Japan, regularly touring Europe and the US. There's definitely more to see from these talented ladies. They have 6 albums full of killer tracks so, choose whatever you want it's all great!!😁
Welcome aboard, World of WatSon. You are embarking on (along with many others) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of rock n’ rollers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (nearly 100 songs with new album, “Conqueror”), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destine for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 50 favorites! "Thrill" is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their later songs drive even more - Rin’ne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written slower tunes like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story and Smile... or more punky like Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series! And many are represented with over 20 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. Here’s three of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. The first taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: th-cam.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/w-d-xo.html, the second taken by JT Dayo in LA: th-cam.com/video/4uIYBkAybCI/w-d-xo.html, and third, JOSER8845 in LA: th-cam.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/w-d-xo.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BR & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.). Saiki Atsumi “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements, melodies and High Priestess mediator between the Gods (Band Members) and the masters and princesses (Fans). At 26 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Leader) as Miku calls her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away the persona. Her charisma, performance and voice focus the experience. Miku Kobato "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 28 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kurrupo! No, no, no… KURRUPO!! Kanami Tono “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 28 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose "Gorilla" - Drums, 29 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumRilla” is the Party! MISA "Assassin" - Bass, 27 years old. A sullen, barefoot, dark spirit driving her 5-string bottom-end to hell and back, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. The Mysterious One literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
I don’t usually comment but you must be one of the very few reactors who mentions Miku’s background riffs multiple times. Many people are too blown away by Kanami’s lead to notice.
It'd help if she were just a scosche louder in the mix. Love the growly tone she gets. I did notice on one fan made vid of them playing in, I think, Munich? she didn't have her usual Marshall and was playing through a Twin Reverb, which did unfortunate things to her tone.
@@mrz80 there is an instructional MV on some of the DVDs where Onset is played in studio and there is 5 cameras shooting every girl individually plus all of them together, and you can choose your poison. Miku came a long way since 2013 indeed
Welcome to the world of Band Maid! Hang on, its a hella ride! These girls are the real thing, they rock the world! Talent, talent, talent and talent!!!!
@@CozNothingIsForever I thought a cave would be more appropriate for metalheads... I don't live in a cave, a crackden, a squat etc. I live in a house, thanks for your concern :)
Dude!....Band maid !!!...in your face, now in your soul !!...aside from the fact that ther females in really cool outfits, all japanese,. An all steller talents ...who is mixing these girls, an other live videos,...?.??.....hats off to that genius as well ...awesome reaction!!!....I know your totally hooked!!!!
Man....this was such a pleasure to watch your reaction...to the best band in the world...I've been a fan since 2014 and I have be lucky enough to have seen them live twice in New York City last September 2019.....I have several fan videos from those two concerts on my TH-cam channel...you will have a real blast discovering just how good these ladies are!
World of WatSon just to give you a taste of what this band can do on stage...here is a link to one of the fancam video that I took at the concert...th-cam.com/video/-J0UQIADCLo/w-d-xo.html
There are as many heavy metal bands as stars around the world, while hard rock bands have become fewer and fewer. As a Japanese I recommend with confidence, BAND-MAID is one of the best hard rock band in the world now.
"I wasn't ready". Says every first time Band-Maid reactor! Great reaction. If you want to build your channel keep reacting to this group. There are no bad Band-Maid songs.
Completely on point, Dan. First time seeing them I was like, Wait, WHAT. WHAT whoa this. Is. UNREAL! :D After years of pop pablum and overproduced underthought crap on air, this was a hurricane force breath of fresh air with hail the size of elephants! :D
I found this band recently and am making a reactions tour - it's a special kind of joy to see others discovering this amazing band and having fun. Man, I say yours is my favourite Band-Maid reaction out of all those on YT. You are listening to the details, you know your music, you are open and sincere. And that "I was not ready..." always makes me laugh. All the best to you and your family, cheers!
MISA! MISA! MISA! Holding the line in solid Guitar Rock, Band Maid are the Hardest Rockin Japanese Ladies on the Planet!! More Band Maid Always!! (Pick Any song -over 90 to choose from-...they are THAT GOOD!! And mind the Gap!) Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Dude, I’m so glad you chose this live version of Real Existence!! It’s from the Zepp Tokyo show and my personal favorite version. It’s also song #25 of this 26 song concert, and they’re going HAM still! Adrenaline is a helluva drug.💪🏻🤘🏻
Dude, this band has been around since 2014, their live shows run over two hours, and they could do at least two without repeating a song, best live rock band around anywhere right now, and they just keep getting better ! Great reaction by the way, I love watching people the first time they get a dose of Band-Maid. More please !
I’m serious, Band Maid are the best hard Rock Band going in the world. The drummer (Akane), bassist (Misa), and lead guitarist (Kanami) are well versed, trained virtuoso musicians. Miku, who writes the lyrics, rhythm guitarist/co-vocalist, formed the band. She once worked at a maid cafe which explains the outfits. She wanted to fuse a hard rock, metalish sound with melodious vocals. Miku started as the lead vocalist, but realized she didn’t have a power voice for her vision, so she recruited Saiki to become the lead vocalist. Miku never touched a guitar until 2014. Kanami (lead guitarist) taught Miku how to play and she is now a solid guitarist. Warning, Band Maid is very addictive, and all their songs range from good to fantastic.
Brah.... where you been .. Band Maid is probably the best hard rock band out there right now. Just happen to be girls in maid outfits. Don't let the look fool you ( they call it the "Gap" between your visual / mental expectation and how they really play.) Technically excellent in all areas. Super tight and complex sound. The scary thing is they are getting better and better over time. Okay, new mission: Start the Band Maid hype in Hawaii so we can get them down here to play... These ladies are the real deal.
of note.. this was the 25th song out of a 2 hour'ish 26 song set. it's one of their earlier ones(their 2nd ever music video was for this song in 2015).. and it was written for them.. most material since 2016 is all written(and now produced) by BAND-MAID. they could legit make an anime out of BAND-MAID's backstory.. it's all kinds of zany and wholesome and hilarious. i don't wanna give a short version of it.. but basically, Miku(pigtails, rhythm guitar, backing vocals) used to work in maid cafes, and one day(inspired by the likes of Tokyo Jihen) decided she wanted to start up a band to play 'cool' music. then the planets aligned, and now we got this supergroup that is constantly surpassing any expectations i could have of them. and yes.. layers.. each member is always up to something. every song of theirs is like peeling an onion.. they pack a heck of a lot into their short songs. fairly recent interview with some of the backstory.. turn on CC: th-cam.com/video/DJOCtXT9bF0/w-d-xo.html classic intro-to-the-band interview: th-cam.com/video/R4PofsQYwn4/w-d-xo.html pt 1 , th-cam.com/video/YzWETTu-4iE/w-d-xo.html pt 2 there's more that isn't mentioned.. but these are good to start gonna drop DICE for a next shot at the bowl: th-cam.com/video/ZpAYnVJX9CY/w-d-xo.html and for something else to check out: th-cam.com/video/SVz63DALQYM/w-d-xo.html latest from 八十八ヶ所巡礼.. "hachi-juu hachi kasho junrei".. which is something like.. 88 Point Pilgrimage. the band's name is a religious reference of sorts afaik. song.. 狂感できない "kyou-kan dekinai".. something about not going insane. probably the less i try to explain the better.
Wow! Thank you for all this information! Every great band seems to have a great story. I'm definitely intrigued! Gonna add that band/song one to the bowl too - somehow LOL
@@BraddahWatSon "88 Pilgrimages" is an absolutely insane band. They are an embodiment of the true modern prog rock genre. They were much crazier when they were younger, but I love them even more back then!
It's cool to see these older reactions to videos that have since been taken down, and yours are a lot of fun. Seems like you haven't been active for a while and that's just how it goes sometimes, I just hope you and yours are doing as well as you can in these times. Take care, and I hope to see you again one day.
Thank you for your kind words and wishes! It has been a long while but I always intended on being back. And now...I am! I just listened to my first Band Maid song last week and plan to have more and more coming! Hope you and yours have been well over the past few years since you commented!
ANother new fan cast down into the flames.. Welcome my friend! The bowl delivers.. and you're right buddy.. the concert is fantastic. If you want it then it's attached to one of their cd releases.. this concert is the japanese CD/DVD release of their album Domination.. there was another attached to the single for Start Over.. both stunning gigs! Miku (the rhythm guitarist with the pigtails, who broke your heart, and mine, on the breakdown with her cute solo vocal) used to be a maid in a cafe in Akihabara. She started the band and curiously each new member who enrolled brought the next with them, until they finally closed the deal finding Saiki (vocals). then a legendary band was born!
The founder of the band and rhythm guitarist has said the main purpose of the maid outfits is contrast. How they look and how they sound are worlds apart. Welcome to one of the best rock bands on the planet right now.
You have no idea how much BAND-MAID there is that's just as good if not better. The Rhythm Guitarist & Backup Singer, Miku used to work in a Maid Cafe' and decided The Gap between Maids playing Hard Rock would be awesome. And it is! She found the drummer Akane, who Jimmy Page says is the reincarnation of John Bonham, though they sound nothing like Led Zeppelin. Akane knew the bassist MISA from the Tokyo School of Music. Miku found the lead guitarist Kanami through some videos she had put online. Then Miku decided they needed another singer in the band. She checked with their agency for singers and found Saiki. She didn't tell her right away that they would be wearing Maid Uniforms. She just said they were a Hard Rock band and would wear "Cute Costumes". Saiki was the first one to ditch the apron. Anyway, that's how it all got started. They played together for about a year and were even considering breaking up until 2014 when their first video 'Thrill' went viral, and they've been rocking ever since. Their Music Videos are great, but they really shine LIVE, especially their Studio Coast and Zepp Tokyo LIVE concerts. But don't forget their April Fools videos as BAND-MAIKO.
@@joki5346 Would Jimmy Page ask to have his picture taken with Akane if he did not really admire her? i.pinimg.com/originals/bd/77/fc/bd77fc89c366872dfb74131dd00b5dee.jpg
Five master musicians lead by lead guitar songwriter Kanami - hugely creative with a massive work rate. Rock at its very best. And the nicest ego free bunch you could ever meet.
Band maid will get you much more subscribers worldwide. Saiki's ( lead singer) voice, has the perfect lead singer voice! Yeah, I found them accidentally when I lived back on Oahu. I found them thruough Baby Metal. Bought all their music since. They get heavy too.
welcome to the maidiacs club-all of their music has incredible layer upon layer of total awesomeness-the lead guitarist kanami is a genius and writes almost all of their music.the very cute rythym guitarist miku worked at a japanese maid cafe and came up with the idea of combining the maid outfits with a hard rock band-they call it the gap-what they look like and what they play-been around since late 2013 -i would recommend the mv for dice first and then just let 'em fly-they have well over 50 great songs-you won't be bored that i promise-consider me subscribed-
Considering miku just learned to play guitar since she recruited kanami, Miku is also a genius in her own. Of course, all fans will agree if they call Kanami sensei the most genius among them 😊
@@thedocofrock1890 yup, agree with you. No miku no maid-band If We compare the skill of playing a musical instrument between miku, kanami, Akane and misa, miku is the weakest. But he has his own "ponit". Of course the others member are also have their own "point" too
I'm not often one to watch reaction videos but I'm glad I clicked, your having to stop and start over had me in tears. Also your catching details that while I knew were there never really thought about, like Miku's rhythm guitar in the background, made me appreciate them more. Only negative is this song doesn't really have a section to let MISA's bass stand on it's own, but hopefully you've listened to a few more of their songs where it does. Edit: straight after posting I see you've a video on "Turn Me On", nice.
05:58 Japan has a great Rock/Metal-Scene and many good Girl-Rock-Bands, Scandal, Silent Sirens, Doll$Boxx, Destrose...... Band Maid is a must see Band, theyr life-acts are hot.
The Japanese music scene is where a lot of us have migrated to. Stagnation in the western music scene have pushed us into the land of fresh rock and metal. Dig deeper. You won't regret it.
You probably heard this a million times before but you look like a blue-collar Donny Osmond. Anyway, great reaction and review. You could do the next two weeks on them alone. Check out the official video for one of the earliest songs Thrill. Then great power ballads songs like . Before yesterday, Daydreaming along with a funky sounding hard rock song called Bubble. Then hit Awkward, Puzzle and Play. They also Do a great job doing two songs acoustically live. These ladies are the real deal. And they're kind of nice to look at as well. Amazing musicians keeping the spirit of Hardrock alive. I guess in part it's what is middle-aged guys Like about them so much. They're filling a void where so many bands aren't in today. And yet carving their own Niche and putting their own spin on it. . Keep up the good work !
Oh nice you found my nambawan band, Bando-Maid! My LSS right now from this band is "One and Only/Tora and Tora" and "Love,Passion,Matador", very lovely songs IMO. Band -Maid are a great band and Japan, at the moment has some really good and/or interesting rock and metal bands that are well worth investigating. As for a suggestion, to add a bit of variety try the MV for "Smack Baby Smack" by the group "BiSH" - a Japanese Punk Idol group. It's one of their popier tunes, but still gives you a taste of what some Alt-Idols are like. For a punkier track, "Giant Killers" live from the "Bring Icing Shit Horse" tour (yes, that's really the name).
Welcome to the Band-Maid freight train. Any song from that live concert is good. I suggest Play, You Don't Tell Me or Onset to start with. These musicians are "in your face Rock!!" Misa the bass player is my favorite and get used to seeing......MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! It' the Gap that you can't comprehend :)
Get ready for your view counts to go up. Band-Maid fans travel well on youtube. Your reaction of "they're a band of maids" is EXACTLY what Miku (Rhythm Guitar/Band Founder) wanted. The juxtaposition of cute maid outfits and hard rock. Reaction recommendations: "Play" (Live) - While not in my personal top five, this track always goes over well with reactions. "Take me higher!!" (Live) and "Don't you tell ME" (Live) - Both of these feature a great guitar battle of sorts between lead guitar and bass. "Reincarnation" - This is probably their hardest song and is borderline metal. "Blooming" - Latest single and an all around good rock song. "Onset" (Live) - This is an Instrumental track. "Daydreaming" and "Awkward" (Live) - These are softer, more ballad type songs. "Puzzle" (Live) - My personal favorite Band-Maid song.
Here's a interview i found with the leader Miku Kobato. Where did you get the idea to use maid outfits? “I used to work in a maid café! I would wear cute uniforms every day and entertain our customers, who we call masters and princesses. At the same time I was really into metal and rock music, and I thought how different the two worlds were. Here I am at work, singing super cute songs to a milkshake - it’s how we make them extra tasty - but on the way home I have my headphones in, blasting Maximum The Hormone. I thought that it would be cool to combine cute uniforms with cool music, so I set about recruiting the members of Band-Maid.”
Band-Maid didn’t get influenced by rock or metal bands in the beginning. None of them were into hard rock or metal before the band. They settled on a somewhat hard-ish direction after some exploration and then started “studying” from there. According to to them, they are still students of rock and at the moment and they are forging ahead with their non-traditional, Band-Maid brand of hard rock.
Whoops maybe I wrote misleadingly. 3 of them have been learning music since young, but none of them have been into ROCK music until after the band was formed. That’s what I meant by them currently studying rock music.
Actually, Misa was influenced by music encouraged by her mother from an early age, like The Who, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Jellyfish. She was a fan of grunge etc. In a recent interview she was happy she was finally in a band playing the type of music she likes.
Excellent Reaction! New sub. The other subs have given you good info. I'll add some background. Rhythm guitarist/harmony vocalist (Miku) is the founder of the band. When she started the band, she worked as a waitress at a "Maid Cafe" in Japan. She decided it'd be cool to adapt that theme to a rock band, so the "band of maids" was her idea. Lead guitarist (Kanami) and drummer (Akane) were on board with it. Saiki (lead vocal) and Misa (bassist)....not so much. They went along with it at first, but over time, their stage wear began looking less like the stereotypical maid outfits. But I'm sure you'd agree, no matter what they wear, these ladies rock! I'm looking forward to the next one. You have links from other subs. Choose any. They don't have a bad song in their catalog! I'll throw down a link to one of my favorites. Alone (live): th-cam.com/video/cFuklNAIKB8/w-d-xo.html
The girl left of the lead singer worked at a Japanese cafe and that was the uniform. She and the lead startedvrhe band at they keptvthat theme. They blow me away too!
DUDE!! I said the same thing!! I want to know their whole story!! Lmao!! I know they have a LOT of influences personally, and I’ve seen a lot of their interviews! They totally are significantly different women from what they play but they all rock!!! 🤩🤩🤩
"I wasn't ready" about describes the realization that these J-Rock bands are so amazing and to a large extent dominated by women! Band-Maid is my absolute favorite band as of a year and a half ago when I first ran across them. This was the song that closed the deal for me. This was the 3rd song I watched. The first two blew me away, but the composition and arrangement from the drummer is amazing. She is the busiest drummer I've ever heard that lays it down perfectly and never gets in the way or pushes the other players out of the way. First new music I've bought in 20 years. First live show I went to in almost as long a period. And the thing is, there are NO bad songs. You can click on anything from them and you will be more and more amazed. That said, I have to go back to your first comment: "I Wasn't Ready." You have to check out Doll$Box - Take My Chance th-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/w-d-xo.html Get a few more deep into Band-Maid. After that branch out. I HIGHLY recommend ASTERISM - Rising Moon. High school band. Again, no matter what you are good at, there's a little asian girl out there that can do it 10 times better. (Granted the video is from a couple years ago, so I think she's graduated now) th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=asterism+rising+moon
Lead guitarist Kanami has cited Carlos Santana as an influence. Rhythm guitarist Miku was the founder of the band and came up with the maid concept because she had worked in a maid cafe herself in Akihabara, Tokyo.
The best hard rock band on the planet right now! Personally, I don't think this song is even in the top 20 of their now 90 or so songs ... that said there are no bad Band-Maid songs, they are as consistent as any band that ever played. I envy you though, I've been following them for about 4 years now, and have heard all their music ... you get to discover them and will have months and months of pure enjoyment doing so in the next few months!!
I suggest reacting to their songs in some form of chronological order (from their first hit "Thrill" to their most recent release "Blooming") to see how much they have progressed into the extremely talented hard rock n roll group they are today. Imho - they don't do bad songs (my playlist includes every one of their songs). Be prepared to having your mind constantly blown and the Band Maid Fandom (a growing army of people that enjoy great music) will follow. Good luck for the future. btw - nice to see reactors giving Miku (rhythm guitarist) some loving - she is my crush.
Aloha Maidiacs! My Band-Maid reaction playlist is here for you to binge (link below)! Every new Band-Maid will be added to the top of the list so make sure to save it!

another band-maid army here... welcome aboard sir!
And many are represented with over 20 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BR & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.).
MISA! MISA!
Wow man that just about covers it all ,, good job ,, LOL to Band Maid ,, Robby Aus ❤️❤️❤️🎸🎸🎸.
🤙🏽
I don’t usually comment but you must be one of the very few reactors who mentions Miku’s background riffs multiple times. Many people are too blown away by Kanami’s lead to notice.
Well spotted!
Miku, came along way since first picking up a guitar in 2013.
Miku keeps the song going so Kanami can get all crazy.
Made my week! Nothing better than watching someone blown away hearing my favorite band in the world for the first time.
Thank you for your comment! More is comin'
Welcome to the world of Band Maid! Hang on, its a hella ride!

There are as many heavy metal bands as stars around the world, while hard rock bands have become fewer and fewer.
As a Japanese I recommend with confidence,
BAND-MAID is one of the best hard rock band in the world now.
Welcome to the wonderful world of BAND-MAID! :)
Well, Don't Let Me Down.
Love the music, but you can tell neither Miku nor Saiki wrote the lyrics.
True dat all good
I found this band recently and am making a reactions tour - it's a special kind of joy to see others discovering this amazing band and having fun.
Man, I say yours is my favourite Band-Maid reaction out of all those on YT. You are listening to the details, you know your music, you are open and sincere. And that "I was not ready..." always makes me laugh. All the best to you and your family, cheers!

There are no bad songs by this group. They are the greatest!
The thing that I love of this band and their live performances is they look so happy on stage, that energy is amazing. They got me at the first smile
I can soo relate to your reaction! They're awesome and I could care less about the lyrics! Incredible song structure and performance! Genius!!!
That's hilarious, you have my fan. 🤣
Dude, this band has been around since 2014, their live shows run over two hours, and they could do at least two without repeating a song, best live rock band around anywhere right now, and they just keep getting better ! Great reaction by the way, I love watching people the first time they get a dose of Band-Maid. More please !
Wow! That's incredible. And thank you!
It's always interesting when you see the bandmaid's first reaction
Guarantee! The bowl just got loaded up with choooooke Band Maid suggestion! Its comin.

The reflection is good for the band-made reaction videos. I pressed 100 times for your reaction video. Welcome to the bandmaid swamp
This bowl has give you a band for a entire life. Lucky guy...
nice reaction!!!
of note.. this was the 25th song out of a 2 hour'ish 26 song set. it's one of their earlier ones(their 2nd ever music video was for this song in 2015).. and it was written for them.. most material since 2016 is all written(and now produced) by BAND-MAID.
they could legit make an anime out of BAND-MAID's backstory.. it's all kinds of zany and wholesome and hilarious. i don't wanna give a short version of it.. but basically, Miku(pigtails, rhythm guitar, backing vocals) used to work in maid cafes, and one day(inspired by the likes of Tokyo Jihen) decided she wanted to start up a band to play 'cool' music. then the planets aligned, and now we got this supergroup that is constantly surpassing any expectations i could have of them.
and yes.. layers.. each member is always up to something. every song of theirs is like peeling an onion.. they pack a heck of a lot into their short songs.

there's more that isn't mentioned.. but these are good to start
gonna drop DICE for a next shot at the bowl: th-cam.com/video/ZpAYnVJX9CY/w-d-xo.html
and for something else to check out: th-cam.com/video/SVz63DALQYM/w-d-xo.html latest from 八十八ヶ所巡礼.. "hachi-juu hachi kasho junrei".. which is something like.. 88 Point Pilgrimage. the band's name is a religious reference of sorts afaik. song.. 狂感できない "kyou-kan dekinai".. something about not going insane. probably the less i try to explain the better.
My man dishing out the Band-Maid info AND the 88 Kasyo Junrei recommendations! Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.

Best band in the world today
Welcome to one of the best rock bands on the planet right now.
nice reaction
more BAND MAID please
There are many doubts, if Jimmy Page said something like that. It seems that the phantasy of some people makes its uninvestigated way through YT.
@@joki5346 Would Jimmy Page ask to have his picture taken with Akane if he did not really admire her? i.pinimg.com/originals/bd/77/fc/bd77fc89c366872dfb74131dd00b5dee.jpg
Akane is one of the best drummers around and probably the best female rock drummer I’ve ever seen.
Five master musicians lead by lead guitar songwriter Kanami - hugely creative with a massive work rate. Rock at its very best. And the nicest ego free bunch you could ever meet.
Best damn hard rock band on the planet today.

Discovering BAND-MAID is hitting the lottery.
Of course, all fans will agree if they call Kanami sensei the most genius among them 😊
@@Ace-pt4xg correct - the whole thing was her idea in the first place so she deserves most of the credit - no MIKU no BANDMAID
@@thedocofrock1890 yup, agree with you. No miku no maid-band
If We compare the skill of playing a musical instrument between miku, kanami, Akane and misa, miku is the weakest.

Welcome Man, Band Maid is surprise of rock, tenha uma grande aventura a partir desse vídeo, great reaction, thanks from Boa Vista - Roraima - Brasil
I'm glad they are keeping hard rock alive. 🤟
They are. If you have the chance, you should attend a concert of them. Live versions are wayyy much better then studio versions.
Get ready for your view counts to go up. Band-Maid fans travel well on youtube. Your reaction of "they're a band of maids" is EXACTLY what Miku (Rhythm Guitar/Band Founder) wanted. The juxtaposition of cute maid outfits and hard rock.
Reaction recommendations:
"Play" (Live) - While not in my personal top five, this track always goes over well with reactions.
1:45 And **that** right there, is why they wear the Maid outfits lmao.
Nice! They don't play like no students though! Great info.
Whoops maybe I wrote misleadingly.
3 of them have been learning music since young, but none of them have been into ROCK music until after the band was formed. That’s what I meant by them currently studying rock music.
Akane favorite band is maximum the hormone and its a metal band
All songs of band-maid are exceptional.
Love the reaction man.
7-8 more songs, and you'll be wondering how they have so many songs this good. And you'll still be wondering after another 30.
Welcome to a talented band, you will be surprised by the fanbase
The discrepancy between how they look and how they sound was done on purpose. They call it "The Gap"....
7:28 Probably Miku on rhythm guitar. She didn't learn guitar until this group formed 6 or 7 years ago.
That said, I have to go back to your first comment: "I Wasn't Ready." You have to check out Doll$Box - Take My Chance

Get a few more deep into Band-Maid. After that branch out. I HIGHLY recommend ASTERISM - Rising Moon. High school band. Again, no matter what you are good at, there's a little asian girl out there that can do it 10 times better. (Granted the video is from a couple years ago, so I think she's graduated now)

"I'm blown away ... by these feeeemails"
You won't be able to stop watching them now.....
Po!!
My understanding is that Kobato (guitar/backing vocals) worked at a maid cafe and decided to combine the idea with music.
