You are correct, that lead guitar/bass showdown is indeed like watching magic .... and I can prove it!! go back and listen to that part again .. this time try to ignore the guitar and bass (hard to do, you may need to listen 4 or 5 times before your willpower wins out) and listen to the drums ... how Kanami and MISA are able to make most listeners miss Akane's drum magic is a quite impressive feat of magic!!

Because every song is high energy, they do things to take breaks during the shows. Usually some interactive stuff with the audience. Sometimes acoustic versions of a couple songs. They mostly play smaller venues and go just as hard as they do in this one. The difference is in the smaller settings, they will go right up to the crowd while they play solos and stuff.

Their songwriting is what separates them from the other JRock/JMetal bands. Band Maid's songs don't take a backseat to their talent,if you know what I mean.
One of my favourite japanese bands are Crossfaith. They are insane. I would suggest the "classic" way to discover the band. I would suggest you watch/listen/react to "Crossfaith - 'Monolith (Live At Download Festival 2014)' " You won't be disappointed.
There's another "Battle" in 'Take Me Higher' LIVE, though for me, it doesn't top this one. I like to save this one for when someone has already seen the other one. You might also want to check out their instrumental son, 'Onset'. I wouldn't do the Music Video though. That's more of an instructional on how to play the song. There are five videos, one of each member playing their part alone. Then there's a fifth of all of them playing the song together. I suppose that could pas as a Music Video, but it's just them in a studio against a white backdrop. If you don't mind that do their first video 'Thrill'. For 'Onset' I would stick to the LIVE version.

If you liked this all female rock band from Japan and their awsome talent permit me to suggest you another one from Mexico: three young sisters who play the best pure rock I've heard in decades. Just to say: two months ago I took a plane and traveled 5000 km only to watch them live when they played in NY. They are The Warning; listen to a song named Dust To Dust, possibly from their live show at Lunario in Mexico City. Believe me: you won't regret it and be prepared to an invasion of your channel by their fans of The Warning Army.
What more can you say about them? Simply amazing talent- they would have absolutely kicked ass back in the 80's. I would put Misa, Akane or Kanami up against any of the the Rock Legends, and they would hold their own.

MAXIMUM THE HORMONE is a great band, but it maybe divides people between likes and dislikes. If you can give the second chance to them, please try “Yoshu-Fukushu”. It’s a masterpiece and I love it but you need some patience at the beginning of the song.

A bit more, Kanami (lead guitar) writes the music, Miku (rhythm guitar, vocals) writes the lyrics. From that start Akene (drums), MISA (bass), and Saiki (lead vocals) with Kanami and Miki develop the final song. Saiki is the one who makes the call on when they done. Miku, band founder did not play the guitar when she formed the band. Akene, MISA, and Kanami said they needed and fuller sound, a ryhthm guitar. Rather than add someone Miku said she would learn to play the Guitar. Kanami is her teacher! Band-Maid is the best hard rock band on the planet today bar none. They are also the ONLY rock n roll band at this level in the entire nation of Japan. Stop typing because l know other groups play rock or forms of rock music. It is not the same thing. My friends in Tokyo tell me you can separate rock music fans in Japan into two groups. JROK and those who prefer western style rock n roll. Band-Maid is in the latter category. Do not refer to these ladies as JROK because the only thing about them in that regard is that they are from Japan and they rock. There is a musical group on Band-Maid's record label named BiSH who bill themselves as the alt-idol or anti-idol music group. In reality that title belongs to Band-Maid. And once you see them live you will never be your old self ever again. Inkcarceration 2020 in Mansfield, Ohio on July 11th. They also appear at Knotfest with Tool, Korn and Babymetal and it is rumored those four will be in Mexico this Spring. Fingers crossed for a North American tour.

MAXIMUM THE HORMONE is a great band, but it maybe divides people between likes and dislikes. If you can give the second chance to them, please try “Yoshu-Fukushu”. It’s a masterpiece and I love it but you need some patience at the beginning of the song.

A bit more, Kanami (lead guitar) writes the music, Miku (rhythm guitar, vocals) writes the lyrics. From that start Akene (drums), MISA (bass), and Saiki (lead vocals) with Kanami and Miki develop the final song. Saiki is the one who makes the call on when they done. Miku, band founder did not play the guitar when she formed the band. Akene, MISA, and Kanami said they needed and fuller sound, a ryhthm guitar. Rather than add someone Miku said she would learn to play the Guitar. Kanami is her teacher!

By the way, Maximum The Hormone is a real band and they were the group playing behind the curtain. They do have a more random sense of style in their music and videos. If you have ever seen the anime called Death Note you have heard Maximum The Hormone.

Band-Maid is the best hard rock band on the planet today bar none. They are also the ONLY rock n roll band at this level in the entire nation of Japan. Stop typing because l know other groups play rock or forms of rock music. It is not the same thing. My friends in Tokyo tell me you can separate rock music fans in Japan into two groups. JROK and those who prefer western style rock n roll. Band-Maid is in the latter category. Do not refer to these ladies as JROK because the only thing about them in that regard is that they are from Japan and they rock. There is a musical group on Band-Maid's record label named BiSH who bill themselves as the alt-idol or anti-idol music group. In reality that title belongs to Band-Maid. And once you see them live you will never be your old self ever again. Inkcarceration 2020 in Mansfield, Ohio on July 11th. They also appear at Knotfest with Tool, Korn and Babymetal and it is rumored those four will be in Mexico this Spring. Fingers crossed for a North American tour.
